  1. No problem. Something else to check out if you try out the mercury version is in the core options you can overclock the FX chip to make FX chip games run faster.
  2. Honestly I couldn't tell you, but if you have a 3GHz cpu you should be fine and then increase frame delay to reduce input lag.
  3. Yeah Accuracy is the better choice if you got enough power and you got the special chip dumps to go with it. Generally speaking I recommend the balanced mercury core since the mercury core doesn't need special chips and is a little more forgiving on the cpu side and you only lose out on some shadows in one specific game that virtually no one will ever play, Air Strike Patrol.
  4. Do you actually have the core downloaded and in your cores folder ?
  5. -C is just the command for a custom config file, it's optional. You could remove the -C and just have -L "cores\bsnes_balanced_libretro.dll" and will be just fine
  6. I think most of us are using Mednafen or the Retroarch version of it for Saturn but like I said it does require a fairly decent CPU to drive it. It obviously doesn't need a top tier CPU like Cemu or even PCSX2 but you will need something in and around 3 GHz or higher to be safe. Mednafen is not 100% because there are some games like Burning Rangers and games that use the Virtua Fighter engine that have some problems but it is far better than Yabause and SSF in terms of compatibility. You say there are only 4 games you are interested in playing, perhaps if you post them we can tell you whether or not we have them and how well they work for us.
  7. If people from the LB community are going over to the HyperSpin forums just to stir up shit then I can understand locking or deleting threads. I would do the same thing here if it were happening here. I have no problems people discussing pros and cons of other frontends but flat out shit talking and bashing of other frontends or communities on here will be met with warnings and bans if they get really out of hand. Fortunately that has not happened here yet as far as I am aware of and I hope it stays that way. Hell, I'm a total Launchbox whore but I will suggest other frontends such as AttractMode or HyperSpin to people when Launchbox doesn't suit their needs.
  8. The -fullscreen or /fullscreen should work, I tried them both out and both work fine for me. If the script is spitting an error at you then you probably have a mistake in there somewhere, maybe an extra space where there shouldn't be one.
  9. Im going to stick with my original guess, it's a problem with that rom on that specific piece of hardware you are having troubles with and not an ini issue. Are the other Mario Bros roms giving you the same problem ?
  10. Ahh yeah, you might be right, I'm re-reading this thread now to try and catch up and understand what the issue is exactly.
  11. Does the sound problem exist with the non bootleg versions of the game ?
  12. If it is only happening for a single game then my first guess would be a bad rom or some bug with that game, especially if it is the bootleg version of that rom. I just did a quick game test of my mario.zip and it works perfectly fine.
  13. There is no plugin right now. The 2 ways to do it is either remove your games from LB and re-import them from the new location or use Notepad++ to bulk edit the xml files like I show how to here
  14. Edit your Mesen emulator in Launchbox and go to the Autohotkey Script tab and put that code in there Or as @Sourpointed out there is a fullscreen command which you can put in the command line paramenters for Mesen in Launchbox
  15. The Saturn hardware was complicated, so much so that even the devs back then had a difficult time programming for it. The complicated nature of the hardware combined with the severe lack of documentation made it very difficult to emulate. Right now you have 3 choices in emulators, Yabause, SSF and Mednafen (stand alone and Retroarch core). Yabause is by far the worst of the 3 and Mednafen is the best but requires a relatively decent system to run it. SSF is in the middle and on the whole is pretty good but you do have to mount disk images with a virtual CD program such as Daemon Tools. Here is a great video from a year ago about a guy who actually managed to crack the hardware and actually documented the hardware. Shortly after we got the Mednafen Saturn core and it runs a very large majority of the games for the system quite well.
  16. Then I am unaware of anything unfortunately. Maybe someone else will see this thread and have a suggestion.
  17. You could edit the platform by right clicking and then edit, and then in the Folders tab change the paths so both platforms are using the same folder.
  18. Not sure if this will do exactly what you are looking to do or not but take a look at Qres. http://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/qres.html Some extra info on its use was posted over on the Retroarch forums. https://forums.libretro.com/t/tip-use-nvidia-dsr-to-enhance-retroarch-shaders/10391
  19. Plugins can add in all sorts of extra functionality, other people can code up plugins while Jason focuses of other stuff. You can see what kind of stuff people are working on here in this forum section https://forums.launchbox-app.com/forum/79-third-party-applications-and-plugins-released/
  20. Good to know there is a fullscreen command line parameter. Mesen isn't my normal use Nintendo emulator so I just popped in the AHK script from my Higan emulator and it worked.
  21. Put this in the AutoHotKey Script tab of your Edit Emulator window for Mesen. It will launch it in fullscreen mode. #NoEnv Sleep, 3000 SetKeyDelay, -1, 110 Send {F11} Return My close window controller button combo in LB works fine to close out Mesen.
  22. No problem. It's one of those features that are accessed in a way that wasn't really ever used before in anything else in LB so it's a new way of thinking to do something.
  23. The easiest way is to select Platform Category from the drop down menu at the top left of the platforms list and then click the + sign just to the right of it.You can also right click in the list and the select Add which will open a window where you can add a new category.
  24. I cannot answer your Steam questions unfortunately because I have never tied my Steam account into Launchbox. As for your Retroarch and Emulationstation question you can use Retroarch with Launchbox without problem. You can check out a tutorial @SentaiBrad did which is designed for new people to Launchbox. Emulationstation though is not something you can use in Launchbox because it is merely a front end using Retroarch, using it with Launchbox would simply be redundant.
