  1. I just looked at the RL forum... they have a small LB section, but no mention of it that I could see.
  2. Cool... I use RL and would like to try this out. Not sure how it works though.
  3. Jason Carr said everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate, and everyone is vital to community, including any and all perspectives. Jason Carr said eliminating excessive amounts of negativity. Jason Carr said There are jerks everywhere, that's for sure. We're just good at weeding them out and sending them packing. SentaiBrad said I don't think we've banned anyone yet, but we're certianly not against it! As a paying customer, I just want to point out that some of these comments not only seem to contradict, but also make it sound like you are, in a subtle and round-about way discouraging people from expressing critical opinions. Compared to other forums I have seen there are almost no "jerks" that I have seen here. I worked in customer service for 6 years and was pretty good at it... I can say that, when you choose to be a company and sell a product, part of what you have to deal with is negativity and complaints from customers. The reality is that you have to get used to it, and get good at it.
  4. I have my system on an SSD and my files on an internal HDD. It's very slow to load (Win 8.1), but my point was that an HDD is another factor that can slow it down.
  5. Jason, congratulations on the success of your 6.0 release. Glad to see things are going well for you and Launchbox. As far as performace mentioned earlier in the thread, I wanted to point out too that running off a HDD can slow you down. I have too much emulation data to store on my SSD's, so I keep it on an HDD. I'm aware that this slows down my boot time for LB, etc... so this is something for us all to keep in mind. HDD is a trade-off for more space.
  6. What we really need are image "sets". In other words a person downloads a .zip file with all the .png's for the theme in it, then can load that single .zip as a theme in Big Box. The .png's inside are named using a standard template so they are recognized by Big Box. That would be your basis for simple submission and use of theming. Is this already possible?
  7. I tried a pirate version to use all the features before I purchased a license. I would never have bought a license otherwise, as I hate to buy stuff that I don't know if I will like. So, worked out in Jason's favor in my case. *edit* I will add... new feature updates are the best DRM. If you keep rapid adding new features, many people will get tired of trying to hunt down an updated pirate version and just buy it. win-win
  8. I am also going to be running the new version soon. Have to update my rom set and I just want to play around with the filters. Been a bit sidetracked on pinball lately. :)
  9. I didn't know that either.
  10. I didn't even know 174 was out... lol. Perfect timing for a new Lightspeed version.
  11. It's drawing the images from the image folder that you point it to, so that you can use a complete art set which are easy to find and download online at places I'm not allowed to talk about. If your images are incomplete, then they are not in your folder. For any missing images you can download an art set, or use LB database. Way easier to download a set.
  12. eric said I tried light speed relay quick about a month ago and it seemed to do just what LB already douse , but than again maybe im just not as demanding as some? if it douse do a better job maybe it will be implemented in to LB? is their one thing that stands out that would be the best reason to yous LS VS.. LB ? thanks.. Read the progress of the changes in the lightspeed thread (link above). There's no comparison as far as what it can do. LB is great software, but in the area Lightspeed specializes in (arcade game organization and tagging) it is in another league. I'm not going to bother listing all the stuff it can do because it has already been fully documented with pictures, etc by the author in that thread.
  13. Lightspeed will definitely do more, better and faster for importing and tagging arcade than Launchbox can do. It has a nice update coming too.
  14. The list updater will be a great time-saver. Nice idea.
  15. Nice updates with artwork, killer list and context menu!
  16. Is there a way to reduce the text size in Big Box?
  17. Hey guys... I'm looking for an AHK script that I can launch before an emulator to allow mapping the mouse buttons as keyboard keys. Does anyone have something like this?
  18. Wow... that is an amazing idea. :)

    Arcade Gun

I tried to get the WiiMote and DolphinBar working in MAME but I didn't have any luck with it. I may have to try again.
  20. I got a beta update today, but no idea what the changes were. Jason, I would really like to be able to position my game details bar at the bottom of LB (mainly for use with vert screen). This would make the screen real estate so much more ideal for a vertical screen. If you can add this as an option would be appreciated.
  21. I like the design on the filters pages. *edit* On a side note... I'm guessing the guys over in the original "all killer no filler" thread at BYOAC will be very interested in this now.

    Arcade Gun

I don't have one, but the Aimtraks from Ultimarc are supposed to be pretty good. I have been wondering about it myself.
  23. I think GameX is not used much anymore anyway is it? I could be wrong about that.
  24. I have used PinballX recently, but never GameX. I'm not sure how similar they are.
  25. Oh man... this is awesome. All the other Saturn progress is totally stalled... maybe this could be the one.
