  1. Heh... cute kid, man. Nice control panel too. What kind of joysticks did you put in it? The suction cup idea is brilliant. Along the lines of the "control type" info... is there any cleanup that can be done on that? There are many games that don't have a control type listed at all, and then some are listed two different ways, such as "8-way+stick" and "8-way joystick". I thought it would be more useful if it was standardized a bit.
  2. You would want to get a split (instead of merged) set. You can do this with CLRMAMEPro, but it's a bit tricky. Easier probably to just download a split set. Then you can use Lightspeed to organize your set. I'm not sure if the option to move to folders is working yet but if/when it is, you could move your unwanted roms to another folder and then delete that folder.

  4. Doesn't look like there's a whole lot in this one for us guys that use a frontend. They made a couple visual enhancements to the gui. Some incomplete graphical improvements for N64 and PSX.
  5. I was just looking through some of my game lists... I have to say everything looks so much cleaner with the "ignore articles" alphabetizing.
  6. There's been a few good tutorials on these forums that helped me get systems set up so I thought I would ask around as to whether anyone had experience. I've been wrestling with VP for a week or so... finally got it running. Now just want to get it in LB.
  7. Dunno... should I not be asking people to share their setup?
  8. lordmonkus said Childhood ? I'm getting more scarred by games now in my old age. I'm looking at you Souls series games, so muc swearing at the TV. I've been playing Dark Souls 3... it's just punishing. I think it may be harder than the previous games, but I have read people saying that it's easier. That may just be e-brag though. But yeah... back in the day when you couldn't save console games... dying meant starting over. You had to really want it. lol *edit* On the flip side though... when you beat one of those games back when we were kids we were celebrating and jumping around... it was a big deal. You beat a game now and you are like... eh, when's the DLC? haha
  9. Does anyone have Visual Pinball set up as an emulator in Launchbox? Are you able to launch and exit it without the table editor screen? If so, could you please share your setup with me so I can get it running? Thanks a bunch.
  10. I was just checking out the alpha list in Big Box. Seems like it will help navigation a lot. One thought is that, to a new user, it may not be completely apparent as to how to access it, or that it is even there.
  11. DOS76 said Any chance there will be by letter navigation coming to LaunchBox any time soon. Any navigation and organization updates for LB, like this, are appreciated.
  12. The article ignore fix is most appreciated. I haven't checked yet, but I'm hoping it's in desktop as well as Big Box?
  13. I am just going by memory, but I think you have to have the ones you are cycling through in the root shaders dir. I remember I had put some of my favorite ones in there, and I think that was the reason.
  14. Jason Carr said New beta is out! Added two new features to Big Box: alpha-numeric navigation for long lists (just go left) Very happy to see some organizational features getting some love. Thanks for this. :) *edit* I would really, really like to see desktop mode getting some similar features also.
  15. They are basically the same, but different in the way they run under the hood, as far as I understand it. A lot like the HL and GLSL in MAME. I usually go with the GLSL. I have also found that some CG's don't work for certain cores, and vice versa. I actually like the EasyCRT shader a lot. Hylian is good too. You have to tinker with it a bit to find one you like.
  16. lordmonkus said Raiders of the Lost Ark for the Atari 2600 I feel like I spent a significant portion of my life just trying to parachute under that branch.
  17. Cadet Stimpy said It was Deja Vu (on the NES), for me. I really enjoyed that game. This was one of the earlier games I played... black and white version on the Mac II, but didn't finish it. I honestly can't remember the first game I finished. It may have been an early PC game. I've always jumped around a lot and left a lot of games unfinished. Metroid is one of the first I remember finishing, but I'm sure there were some before that.
  18. Another similar thing that would be useful... almost seems necessary really... the ability to jump to the next category when you have the gamelist sorted by categories. As it is, you have to scroll around until you find the black divider bar you are looking for. It really negates a lot of the usefulness of sorting.
  19. Antropus said If you mean the games that you delete from Lightspeed's Output Listview before export, that should be quite easy to code. I was thinking of games that had been imported to Launchbox, then manually deleted... like games that weren't filtered, but then I manually deleted them from the set. They can be re-imported to Launchbox sometimes in later imports and you have to go through and manually re-delete them. I was thinking it would be a time saver if Lightspeed had an option to "ignore previously deleted" games when importing. I'm not sure if that would be do-able.
  20. I have a tankstick. They are pretty easy to work on and mod... unfortunately, you will probably want to mod it once you get it because the included joysticks aren't great. I gutted mine and put a pair of Ultrastik 360's in it and a Turbo Twist 2 spinner, and it's pretty much everything I could want now. I would recommend it if you are prepared to do some modding.
  21. So, I was thinking about possible helpful features... I thought of something that may be too ambitious, or maybe not even possible... I'm not sure. I noticed when I was running Lightspeed, sometimes games that I had manually deleted after my initial import were re-added. I was wondering if an option to "ignore previously deleted" games would be possible. In other words, if Lightspeed knew that you had deleted a game that was in the original import, and you had that option checked, Lightspeed would not import the game again.
  22. I think any options like that are going to be helpful in that you can make changes all at once and it will speed things up. It's fairly easy to merge platforms in LaunchBox though so if it's time consuming or tricky to add, maybe hold off on it. I'm trying to think of features that would be helpful and aren't present in LB... drawing a blank but I'm sure they will come up.
  23. Antropus said Change log: - New option added and set to on by default: Prevents Duplicates! Wow... that was fast. lol *edit* I just tested the "prevents duplicates". I intentionally left the list populated with all the games I had previously imported, but added one clone game. It worked perfectly. No double games, but the clone was added to LB. I did notice that "prevents duplicates" was unchecked by default. Another very minor thing I noticed. In the clone manager list, each time you select a game to add, if you have it sorted by title it reverts to the default sorting, so that you have to keep re-sorting by title each time you select a clone. Anyway, prevents duplicates option is a very nice addition.

SentaiBrad said No they'd rather be paid. EmuMovies wants to get paid. Progretto snaps has free downloads. EmuMovies probably ripped off the videos from Progretto. Maybe not, I have no idea. There are people distributing them via torrent which we can't talk about here because they also distribute roms. So what I am saying is... the people who are carrying the torch and distributing movies for MAME, without charging them, would probably appreciate the help. Where does that leave EmuMovies who wants to get paid? I don't know.
