  1. Thanks Brad... yeah I used the "return to desktop" button in BigBox, then back in Desktop mode the video was gone from the game details... option for showing videos was still checked. Even after restart it was gone.
  2. Thanks for the reply... was trying to edit above post but you blocked me. Forum seems to block your edits if someone else replies. Anyway... was going to say option to toggle "repeat play" would be nice too... I'm guessing you have this planned with the proper VLC controls you mentioned. Thanks again. *edit* Found the auto-play option... thanks, works great. *edit* It seems like if I switch to BigBox, then back to Desktop my video is no longer in the sidebar.
  3. I just picked up a set of MAME videos and I'm playing around with the video feature in LB. First impression... volume is very loud. Can I reduce the volume? Auto playback in sidebar... is there way to start playback in the sidebar when I highlight/select the game from the games list? Position. I really like the position of the video in the sidebar... above the bulk of the text. In fact, this is really where I want my snapshots as well (below the video but above the bulk of the text). I was really happy about the beginnings of some customization features for the sidebar that happened not long ago, but not much change since then. Customization for position and order of elements in the sidebar would really add a lot to that feature. I like to see all those nice videos and snapshots at a glance when I click on a game. Platform art in the sidebar as a background would be nice, etc...
  4. Antropus said 3) Now the fun part: if you have the Clones checkbox unchecked, only the main sets will be loaded into the main listview, but all clones will be loaded and available at the Clones Manager Listview, which will list all clones available based on the other filters. Once there, you will be able to select and add ANY number of specific clones into your main listview with a single click. Clones manager! Sweet! That is going to be very helpful. Yeah... Bump n' Jump is a clone... good call.
  5. I love it too, Derek... my desk space has become too cramped though... I have to take some time to re-organize.
  6. I'm going to get the second monitor set back up... it will fix this problem for me and problems with some other programs I use for reading, etc... Everything is easier that way. Thanks for answering my questions.
  7. Nothing really beats the dual monitor setup since all this is already possible. I'm going to have to figure a way to get my second monitor incorporated back on the desktop. The single rotating monitor is wonderful, but it seems like nothing is set up for it. Just switched back to the single monitor and having all sorts of tiny issues.
  8. If there were a button in BigBox to rotate the app, that is all that would be needed. I guess the artwork would need to go to the top or bottom to fit. *edit* I guess I could set up a shortcut to start in vertical BigBox too if that were possible.
  9. I was using a second vertical monitor but had to change my setup to a single monitor. I have a nice VESA mount arm that allows me to easily rotate my single screen for vertical games. The game is fine. When I exit the game to pick the next game BigBox is sideways.
  10. Really not sure how I would use it for a MAME setup with a rotating monitor. Switching orientation through windows between games doesn't seem very practical.
  11. I haven't used Bigbox much, but I'm trying to find an option to rotate into portrait orientation (for those with a rotating monitor setup or vertical cabinet). How is this done?
  12. I didn't know there was a new version. It's picky about the BIOS if I recall? Maybe they changed the BIOS file? I'll have to check into it. Sorry I don't have more info, but thanks for the heads up about the new version.
  13. Bump n' Jump may be another game that isn't imported correctly, but not 100% sure. I can't find it in my LaunchBox set.
  14. I wouldn't mind seeing a tutorial on Visual Pinball. It's been too tricky for me to get running.
  15. New version of ePSXe 2.02 is out. Have not tested yet. http://www.epsxe.com/index.php
  16. Antropus said I added many more filters as well. You will be able to create custom platforms by genre if you wish. For example, you can uncheck everything but "Driving", name the main Mame platform "Driving - Arcade" and a new platform populated solely with driving games will be created. You can do the same for Shmups, fighting games, platform games, breakout games, etc. So, instead of only filtering junk out, you will be able to create specific working lists by genre. This is really awesome... there is no other MAME tool (that I know of) that allows you do this type of stuff. Very cool.
  17. Back in the day, I seem to recall that the roms for Final Burn were actually different than the MAME sets for NeoGeo. Is that still the case?
  18. SentaiBrad said What if there was a list of preferred front images? So you set it up as a top 5 or w/e. Yeah, if it were a user configurable list that would be a great idea.

Jason Carr said Ugh, sounds like it's way out of my league. Kind of what I was afraid of. Hrmf. I'm sure you could do it... anyone could I think, but I know it's scary to hack into the top of that sweet, expensive panel... lol.

Yeah, a forstner bit is best... I found out that I didn't have a 1 1/8 forstner just before I started so I ended up using a spade bit (which I definitely would not be comfortable using on plexi), which worked on the mdf in the X-Arcade, but it is not what I like to use. If you have mdf under the plexi be prepared for a big mess because it's going to make a lot of dust and spray it everywhere. I held a shop vac close to the press while I was drilling and it still made a mess. Wear a mask. I like the X-Arcade in that everything really is pretty easy to upgrade... the downside is that you really need to upgrade some stuff.

It was pretty easy to add, Jason. You just want to make sure you take your time and measure everything carefully. I have a drill press, so that helped, but you could do it with a corded hand drill.

Antropus said I had this one, my very first videogame console ever, back in Brazil... around 1981-82 or so :) Haha... classic.

sadesh said Yeah, I had one of this, but now it has completely gone to the garage. Hah... I heard that. It's probably not one you want to break out that often. I was thinking about it, though... if my parents had that thing for a while before I started playing it, during the 2600 era, that would have been my earliest experience with retro-gaming. :)
  25. Awesome... sounds like a good update. Dark Souls 3 comes out today, so I may be a while reporting back, but I will definitely try it soon. :P
