One thing to consider is IF you are using Retroarch, or are willing to switch to it, many of the cores support CHD files now. CHD is a good compression option for those cores that support it, plus there is no uncompressing the game files as the core runs the game directly. You can save a ton of space using CHD, or at least I know I did. Here is a current list of cores that support CHD (as of this initial post). 4do_libretro genesis_plus_gx_libretro mame2000_libretro mame2009_libretro mame2010_libretro mame2014_libretro mame2016_libretro mame_libretro mednafen_pce_fast_libretro mednafen_pcfx_libretro mednafen_psx_hw_libretro mednafen_psx_libretro mednafen_saturn_libretro mednafen_supergrafx_libretro mess2014_libretro redream_libretro reicast_libretro reicast_naomi_libretro reicast_oit_libretro ume2014_libretro

You could use Notepad++ to mass edit the xml file for that platform. I just testing this here and I wiped out all the info in the <version> field in about 5 seconds. Here is my replace criteria.

Did you create a symbolic link, hard link, or junction? If so, it may have been overwritten by the upgrade. Just recreate the link and you should be good.

I wondered if anyone here had any experience with some of the replacement arcade joysticks with auto-switching 4 & 8 way gate plates? I have been thinking of swapping my existing sticks out for some, but wondered how well they work. I know I can buy sticks where you manually change the gate plate, but am lazy these days. :)

Importing ScummVM for use in Launchbox via Rocketlauncher - A Tutorial
dragon57 replied to JaysArcade's topic in Videos
I'm not sure why you don't have this module if your RocketLauncher is up to date. ScummVM is included in the standard module library. Have you forced an update from the RocketLauncher UI to see if anything is missing? -

Yeah, that is a pretty good price.

Make sure you get a 1030 w/DDR5 ram, not the new ones with DDR4. The performance between the two is quite dramatic and the price between them should be very small.

That is for sure. Google Drive is your friend! (or Dropbox, or any of the other cloud drive vendors) -
Noobs: first installation of Launchbox/BigBox - questions

1. Yes. 2. Just let the software update when prompted. All your settings should carry foreword. I do recommend backing up your data folder from time to time since that is where all the settings are kept. If something causes some of your platform settings to go sideways, you can find backup files for them in the Backups directory. 3. You will see some performance gains by using the SSD because of the image cache used in LaunchBox. Just be aware the image and video resources can take up a large chunk of space where LaunchBox is installed. You can of course move the image and video directories wherever you want later if you want to reclaim the space. 4. Shouldn't be an issue as long as you have a controller seen by Windows. 5. What type of guide are you looking at specifically? The Unbroken Software YouTube channel has all the tutorials for the software. There is a Discord channel where you can usually find one of the moderators online as well. -
