Everything in the chain should match naming wise, so I would rename the file in the zip and give that a try. There is no easy way to update things. That bezel set requires a rom set that follows the No-Intro naming standard, so you could try finding a recent No-Intro set and see if that roms work better for you. There should be little to rename, if any, that way.
-
You don't have " (USA)" in the name of the rom. Have you tried that?

Look under the ...\LaunchBox\Data directory. Please make a backup of this directory first and also make sure LaunchBox and/or BigBox aren't running.

I submitted all my additional videos to the Launchbox team before the deletion happened, and I have just verified my files should be integrated into the Platform video download option in the Launchbox Tools menu. What I can't verify is all my videos are integrated today. They should be, and my random creation of platforms that would match my videos in the above video download option was successful. To your actual question, no, I will not upload the files to systems that have proven to be unreliable. It takes hours to upload all these 4x3 and 16x9 videos. That is something I can no longer justify. Sorry for any inconvenience. You should be able to download the videos from the Launchbox video download option.

That link is dead for reasons that are best forgotten. After the deletion mishap here, I uploaded all the Nostalgia additional videos to the Emumovies FTP server and referenced the new path on their ftp here in the forums, then someone at Emumovies deleted all of my and other people's submissions. So, sorry, there is no location for those videos. A message on the EmuMovies forum said the deleted files would be restored, but that was months ago and the upload directory is still missing as of this date.

I have just uploaded V1.1 of my archive collecting all the user-submitted files to this thread. Apologies for accidentally deleting V1.0.0 and needing to recreate a new thread. I have updated my old post above, as well as posting the updated link below. Please read the comments in that thread and remember to make any related comments in this new thread, not here. I hope this upload is useful in some way.

Silver Ring ClearLogo Set, Additional View File This collection collects all the user-submitted files from the following forum thread into one archive. Many thanks to @viking for the original set of Silver Rings. V1.0 of this archive was accidentally deleted; sorry about that. V1.1 adds files submitted after V1.0 was created. In addition, V1.1 includes the contents of all zip files attached to Viking's comment thread before V1.0 was created. The attached pdf is a complete file listing of the contents of V1.1 of the archive. Note: There is no set schedule for updating this archive. It depends upon user submissions in Viking's forum thread. _Silver_Rings_file_list_1.1.pdf Submitter dragon57 Submitted 09/03/2024 Category Platform Clear Logos

The initial archive containing all the Silver Ring logos submitted here has been uploaded to the Download section. The link is here: Please read the comments in that thread and remember to make any related comments in this new thread, not here. I hope this upload is useful in some way.

Silver Ring ClearLogo Set, Additional View File This archive is a complete dump of the Silver Ring logos submitted from this thread: The files have been renamed to make the archive contents more easily searched. Duplicates have also been removed. Note: not all files were examined one by one to make sure the names were correct. If anyone discovers a file name mismatch, please leave a comment below. File names will be corrected at the next upload. Speaking of uploads, the attached pdf files have a full list of all the files in the archive. There is no set schedule for updating this archive other than when the number of new additions in the above thread warrants it. A comment will be made in that original thread and here in the download section. _Silver_Rings_file_list.pdf Submitter dragon57 Submitted 07/28/2024 Category Platform Clear Logos

Update: I realized today there are a large number of duplicate images in this thread, so the downloaded items need to be cleaned up. I am working on an easy, repeatable method to do this.

Not sure who you are referring to, but no, I don't see those exact rings downloaded from this thread. If you have them, post them here and my utility will grab them.
-
All the sa and themed sets will be audited and brought in line with each other after we finish the remainder of the sets already committed to (zx spectrum and PS2).

Thanks for the feedback. Going forward I'll debug my process a little better so everything is archived and documented for easy access and ease of updates. An announcement will always be made here and in the download section once I start uploading. As always, I welcome any comments along the way.

I have a question for those who follow this thread and use/still use the user-created Silver Rings posted here. I have been using a utility to download updates to this collection about once per month for use in my personal collection. I have also been thinking of posting up this set of additions to Viking's original work in the download section like the zip archive posted a few posts back which sundogak referenced. Now to the question; is there any interest in me posting up this personal archive in the downloads section? If so, not all the Silver Rings in this thread were created in the original resolution and are smaller. If I upload an archive that gets updates every month or so, should all files be uploaded no matter the size? Any comments welcome.

This is probably off-topic for this thread, but I feel like this needs to be reiterated. Don't use a 3rd party product with any app unless you fully understand it and what it might affect. I use Skraper all the time and have used it for as long as it has been around. I just create a temporary directory for what I want downloaded. This way nothing can be stepped on. I then audit the downloads, then I move what I want to LaunchBox, Hyperspin, Emulation Station, Attract Mode, whatever. Just don't blame a product off hand without reading up and asking questions first. No front-end is 100% across its features and functions. I can't tell you how many times a new version of LaunchBox has caused me trouble, but that is the nature of all software. Make backups!

The Bezel Project app from the Github site does not interact with the Launchbox ability to install the same bezels. They are two ways of accomplishing the same thing. If you are a user of Launchbox, it is best to use its built-in logic to install the bezels. The separate app was written first and is intended to help others who use different front-ends to install the bezel packs into their installation of Retroarch. Since you never really answered my questions, I can't help much beyond this point. The overall sequence of using the app is to install it, configure the paths and preferences, select option 1, select which installation method to use, ie, native MAME, Retroarch, Rocketlauncher, then select which bezel packs to install on the subsequent screen by clicking on the system names presented in the combo box list. Option 2 and 3 are for advanced users and normally aren't used in normal operation, but are provided as an assist if you want to disable, then enable a bezel pack later, for whatever reason. I hope the video you found has helped you out. If you have any further questions, please be specific in your questions providing what you want to do and for what system.

You seem to be missing a screenshot that would be displayed after selecting the OK button on the first screen. I am also assuming you have already installed a bezel pack? If so, you don't need to enable it as that is done automatically during the initial install. If you have installed a bezel pack, then later disabled it using option 3, then the missing screen shot should have shown all the installed bezel packs and their current status. If you don't select which bezel pack to enable, then you will get the popup shown in the popup with the red X on it. Can you show the missing screen so I can further diagnose the status of your bezel installations?

All, a themed bezel pack for the Atari ST has just been released. Also, the issue where the Bezel Project app for Windows disables the overlays setting in Retroarch has finally been identified. A new build of the app is forthcoming, but no date can be given at this time. If you want to know when a new version of the app is released, follow this post as I will be announcing it here. You can also watch the repository on Github: https://github.com/thebezelproject/BezelProject-Windows

Thanks for posting this solution so others can benefit. I only recently started receiving comments the Bezel Project App was turning off overlays. I knew it didn't originally do this, so I was baffled what could be doing this. It took a deep dive through my source history and versions of Retroarch to figure it out. Initially, I had to make several assumptions about Retroarch and its configuration parameters. Everything was fine until relatively recently. As the Retroarch devs are wont to do, they changed and added many overlay-related settings. The fix is simple, but I'm in the middle of refactoring all my code, so not sure when a new version of the Bezel Project app can be posted, but I'm aware now, and a fix it in the pipe, so to speak. Thanks again.

Using MAME ini files named for the software list systems is the way to go, IMO. Been doing it that way for years. Seems to be more frontend agnostic that way too.

As with the original post, more info/pics are needed so your question can be answered. Is this in LaunchBox, BigBox? Are you using the default theme(s)?
-
Not sure how this will help, and assuming you don't want to get down into weeds of the actual compression algorithm used to create the chd file (hint: there are different versions supported by chdman, the MAME utility originally used, mostly likely, to create the chd files). Think of chd as another type of compression format like zip, 7z, rar, etc. A utility like chdman is used to create the file, then the end user program like MAME, and the other emulators that now support CHD, decompress the CHD file 'on the fly' directly into memory so the emulator can use it. Does any of this help?
