You dont switch to it in BigBox, you put it in the StartupThemes folder and switch to it in Launchbox.
-
You can keep your roms where ever you like, just tell MAME were they are and of course Launchbox during the import wizard. Just re run the same importer and uncheck all the media downloads. That will just take a few minutes to import and all your media will re attatch after.
-
Also if you do get the 0.197 set i recommend you use the same version of the MAME emulator to match it.
-
Yes you want roms either Non-Merged, Merged or split will work fine in Launchbox. You do not want anything that has Software list in the name as thats not for arcade games its computers and consoles that work in MAME.
-
The software list pack is for old computers and consoles that work in MAME, they used to work in MESS but MESS and MAME were combined into one emulator. What you have will work if you care to set them up, but software lists are not currently supported for importing into launchbox, so getting them in is a pain, and each platform will need different specific commands to work correctly. The Neo Geo roms may work OK, but you would also need the neogeo.zip bios file, so maybe thats missing as i cant recall if its included there or not, i want to say it isnt but im not 100% on that.
-
Yeah as i thought, those are not Arcade games they are software list like you said. As i said in my first reply those are for old computer and console games, if you look you have folders for NES, Orion_cass etc. MAME Arcade roms are not named like that and are always zipped also, like this.
-
If you used the Tools/Import/MAME fullset importer then that actually doesnt check your roms, it assumes you have a fullset and adds the known working games to the platform. So it would grab images and such regardless, it may even work on a empty folder (although i havent tested that). Can you share a image of your MAME roms folder please.
-
Software list for MAME is not Arcade games, its old computer and console games. If you were expecting arcade games i'm afraid you got the wrong set.
-
Lol, well i never got a NES until around 88-89 i would say so i only had the spectrum to go by. You are right though the music has nothing to do with Robocop really, i just really liked it.
-
Robocop on the spectrum for me, loved this game and soundtrack as a kid in the 80's.

Go to your Launchbox/Data folder and open BigBoxSettings.xml in a text editor, find the line "LockPin" and delete the whole line, save the edit. It should look like this. Just delete the whole line so that there is no space between the lines above and below it.

There is a difference in philosophy though, Launchbox aims to be easy to use for everyone out of the box, while RocketLauncher aims for wide configuration so therefore complexity. The two don't go well together unfortunately.

Game Meta loads but NOT game name and box art!
neil9000 replied to guardianali's topic in Troubleshooting
Actually the name in the game details is wrong also, it is showing airattack which is the file name, it should obviously be Air Attack. It shows and scrapes fine for me on my system. Are you scraping the platform as Arcade? If you right click the game and go to edit does it have a database ID? -
So no not a complete replacement for RocketLauncher, some of its features will, or have already been implemented but its not going to be a replacement. If you want all that extra configuration and complexity you will be better off sticking with RocketLauncher. And no i dont believe there is going to be a module system like in RocketLauncher, the idea is to make it simple to use for everyone and keeping up to date with emulator updates with modules defeats the point of this. If that is what you want then of course RocketLauncher is still there for those people.

Is the platform in the sidebar in Launchbox named Neo Geo also? What it is named in Launchbox and what you have in the associated platform tab must match exactly.

Click a game in a platform then ctrl A to highlite them all in the platform, then tools/download metadata and images, just walk through the wizard and check/uncheck any image types you want. -

Multiple instances of MAME if you multiple click
neil9000 replied to Super_Paulie's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah thats fair enough then. Yeah i forgot that that feature was already added to the betas,so yeah that may be what you are looking for. -
Multiple instances of MAME if you multiple click
neil9000 replied to Super_Paulie's topic in Troubleshooting
Why would you press it multiple times???? Multiple startup prevention is planned to work in conjunction with the startup screens though. For now you could try just pressing it once. -
Check your associated platform for that system, it sounds like retroarch cant load a core so just exits. As Jason said it also works fine for me here, so it sounds like a emulator setup issue.

Platform Category Count Not Working for Bigbox

Thats down to the theme developer to implement. -
Is it possible to have multiple installs of an emulator like pcsx2?

Updated to version 1.0.4 which adds the new shutdown screen. Launchbox 9.2 Beta 4 or above is required for V 1.0.4 and above.
-
Updated to 1.0.3 New: Moved images around and added two new ones. There are now three images on the top row from left to right, 3D Box, Clear Logo, Screenshot. The bottom row will have in the bottom right either a Cart Front or spinning disc depending on the system. If you have a disc system i have not included you can just copy/paste one of the existing disc system xaml's and change the name to match your system.
