Glad to see this will be continued! I don't expect a native port as like you said it would take years!
-
@Jason Carr Glad to help. I'm surprised as well at how little this has gained attention. Glad it isn't abandoned though. I'm still looking for a reason why Steam games won't launch without any success.
-
I'm surprised this doesn't more replies. I know lots of users seemed to want this a few years back. Hopefully it isn't abandoned.

I wonder what would happen if you use the install script on the first page like normal then just copy over 1.8 from your Windows install? I don't see why that wouldn't work. I might try it myself as well. Figured I'd throw that out there.

@neil9000 Yeah, it was because I was using a custom theme. I didn't think about that. I should've checked that before but it might help other users as well. I appreciate the help guys!

Great release! How do we get Steam achievements to appear? non are showing up for me. I have one category (labeled Windows) set for my PC games maybe I need a separate one for Steam?

Check Steam settings/in game and make sure "use big picture overlay" is checked. I had this same problem months ago. That fixed it.- 858 replies

@JoeViking245 Yeah, as long as Steam is opened it'll turn off the controller. I use Kodi to launch Lb into BB and you can set a before launching and exiting command/script. I was thinking of launching whatever app or command I could use to turn off the controller after exiting BB. But isn't a big deal to press the button combinations. Just figured it'd be more convenient ha ha. I appreciate you trying to help me though. Maybe someone else might know? I know it's a weird request.
-
@JoeViking245 Thanks for the reply! Yes there is command. I'm sorry I should've mentioned it. Even outside of Steam Bpm (as long as Steam is running which it always is for me) you press the PS button and and the Triangle button at the same time.

Is it possible to make a script that will turn off my PS4 controller when exiting BB? Similar to what Steam does when exiting BPM?

Thank you! Seems to be showing now. I never noticed the "badge" option in view before my bad. -
Custom Badges
The_Keeper86 replied to jayjay's topic in Third-Party Applications and Plugins (Development and Beta Testing)
Seems like it would be a useful program! Though I'm guessing it doesn't work with the latest LB? I don't get any errors but it doesn't show up in the context menu. I added the PS2 logo png so games using the PCSX2 emu would show a PS2 badge. Maybe I did something wrong? -

My bad I should've been more clear. It was the Steam dialog window I was referring to popping up. It isn't a huge deal since everything is working fine so far in BB. I'm wondering if any of the startup screen override settings would help hide it?- 858 replies

@Lahma I was gonna let you know on Steam but figured I'd post here first regarding the startup/shutdown screens. They work great but as mentioned above it just shows the desktop/Steam window loading the game. Anyway around this? I know you posted above adding the game to Steam itself then change the path to the id. Just wondering if there was another way around it? I guess I just like to hide anything Windows/desktop related if that makes sense when launching my games- 858 replies

@jedigu I appreciate the reply and info! BigBox indeed runs great for me as well! Figuring this out is beyond my knowledge. I've been using Linux and Wine off and on since the early 00s but I'm definitely not a programmer. However I'm totally up for giving any suggestions etc a shot. I did notice as I'm sure you did as well @jedigu that the Steam shortcut url id in Linux is slightly different than in Windows as well. I've mentioned it in this thread though.

Hey, anyone know what this error means? It happens when trying to import trophies. It worked with older LB releases. Path cannot be the empty string or all whitespace. (Parameter 'path') App: LaunchBox Version: 11.6 Type: System.ArgumentException Site: System.IO.DirectoryInfo GetParent(System.String) Source: System.IO.FileSystem at System.IO.Directory.GetParent(String path) at BBTrophy.TrpLBImportWindow.DoWork() at BBTrophy.TrpLBImportWindow.Start() at System.Threading.Tasks.Task.<>c.<ThrowAsync>b__139_0(Object state) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.InternalRealCall(Delegate callback, Object args, Int32 numArgs) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.TryCatchWhen(Object source, Delegate callback, Object args, Int32 numArgs, Delegate catchHandler) Recent Log: 8:22:09 PM Exception I know @jayjay hasn't been on in quite awhile so figured someone could shine some light on this error. Guessing it's something to do with the move .net?

Damn that's a shame. I haven't personally used the emulator but still sad he passed away ?

@LahmaThanks for fixing it. Really looking forward to using it again! I've played around with LB in Linux a few times but there is an issue with it not launching anything atm at least me and a few other users can't figure it out. Besides that though it runs fine it seems.- 858 replies
