  1. I'm importing 0.192 (cause my previous 0.185 is all ganked...I'm assuming launchbox arcade/mame importer is not up to date with this, but what version IS is updated to and any way to make this a cleaner import? (want to omit non-working games, or even better would be cool if LB could import the game, but tag it as "Broken"

  2. Anyone successful in doing this well?  Would you be willing to help a bit?

Which MAME is the best one to install in Retoarch, there are several...plain MAME, and 2003, 2010, 2014, 2016... I have the latest rom set (0.192)

Any tutorials on getting this looking amazing like I've seen in some MAME Retroarch Youtube videos?...blew my mind.

    Thanks,

  3. Using a 0.192 SPLIT rom set...I have many chds that will hopefully work fine with it too from older sets...

It's been a while since I imported to launchbox the arcade platform, but many of my roms are broken and I end up having to replace them places online for some unknown reason, then they work...so I'm sick of checking and manually fixing 4,200+ plus games this way...anyways, I'll delete the older roms and import the new roms, but using the LB wizard, what is pros and cons of each (skip this or that) method offered, just wondering if anyone has advice or a explanation in detail of what I'm omitting when I chose to not import clones for example..I know some full games must be lost (puckman.pac-man) comes to mind from what I've read...

Also is there an up to date working IMPORT add-on I can use to get more detailed control of this IMPORT PROCESS vs. the default LB method?  Thanks.

  4. I'm updating from 0.185 to 0.192, I know there isn't a ton of changes based on some youtube videos I see with new games supported, BUT....I've always been confused if NEW CHD's are needed or not when changing versions, or will my existing ones I'm using with 0.185 work fine?  @DOS76 - if you don't mind...thanks!

That's what I did. The XML was tricky because I had to combine them. I might have done something wrong because when I just copied the XML over it was only the new games, not the total games. Then there was a merge bat file. Needless to say it works but i don't have the original XMLs anymore.

What I do not have any clue how to do is bring all of this into my current LB install. I have an entirely different LB setup running just for ExoDos.

Here you go!...this is the one with the latest pack installed into my launchbox (I did no editing to it)...sorry I don't have the older one, it overwrote that one I believe, but this should be the final one...

    MS-DOS.xml

Just a warning - the new exoDOS download comes with instructions - it says to just run "setup.bat". I did this, but it reset all my Launchbox settings! I'm now having to go through and change LB back to how I had it before.

I ran it on the separated downloaded files I had in another folder, then just copied the data over to LB, namely the MS-DOS.XML into DATA\platforms, and the images and manual folder into Launchbox folder, and the EXODOS folder itself (the one with games in it) into the launchbox folder.  Haven't been able to try it yet, but it all looks correct, file wise...we'll see soon...

  7. I may have fixed it by adding iRotate to my external drive in the main Taito Type X games folder (it's own folder), and setting it as additional app, to launch AFTER the game, with these command lines:  /2:rotate=90

The /2 is optional and specifies my monitor being rotated on exit...I hope that works with single monitor set up, supposed to default to primary monitor if the /2 is invalid....seems to work although sometimes the game crashes on exit instead...

    Any better solution is welcome!

don't know how right bat files myself especially if I had to also specify a monitor. For it to rotate the other monitor you would probably have to click on it to get focus 1st

I tried to click FOCUS first too...that fails, it ignores the other one...I tried installing irotate, but all it does is require me to torture myself with a 90 degree screen to click an icon in tray and rotate it, defeating the purpose...I hope someone can help, I wish I knew how...these games are really cool...

ctrl+alt+up arrow should fix it up or make a ahk or bat and use it as an additional app to run a certain amount of seconds after the game exits.

Any chance you can help with me with making the BAT?  I've tried the arrow combo to no avail, it merely rotates me second monitor, not the one being played on, and I need it to be seamless, giving this to someone who can't do this... :-\

    Thanks man.

  10. Question, I'm able to get the games launching with the new Launchbox 7.15 by setting them up (no emulator) with the main EXE, for example Raider III.exe; it opens and plays fine, but when exiting, it rotates my monitor 90 degrees...I'm using the Simply Austin version of this game...what do I need to do?  I've tried a bunch of stuff and nothing seems to work....if this has been covered, I'm sorry, just confused here...thanks!
