SOme Playstation 1 games will not work in big box
Ultra God Azgorath replied to ManGrissle's topic in Troubleshooting
I did mention it earlier in the thread but I guess I got a nasty habit of not wording myself properly. My bad.- 45 replies

SOme Playstation 1 games will not work in big box
Ultra God Azgorath replied to ManGrissle's topic in Troubleshooting
Rename the last file to 2Xtreme (USA) (Track 1).bin and open the cue file with wordpad and check to see if all the bin file names are correct in the cue file.- 45 replies

Dont bother converting games with multiple track bin files like that. psx2psp can only merge and convert up to 5 bin files at a time and besides that, Track1.bin is the main game itself while the other bin files are just the game's music files. Either download a pre-made pbp of these games or keep them extracted in a folder like that and import the cue file only. Also rename and add (Track 1) to the last file.- 45 replies

Yeah best to delete all PSX entries and re-import only the cue and pbp files again and test each game to see whats starting up and running fine and whats not.- 45 replies

Ok I'm also using that. I usually have the SKIP BIOS core option enabled cause the bios load screen takes up time. I don't see how anyone can mess up the pbp file with psx2psp as you just select the bin file you want to convert and click convert and voila done. Maybe the game you are trying to run isn't quite fully compatible with the psx core OR you have a bad/corrupted dump OR something else. what game are you trying to run and is it NTSC or PAL version?- 45 replies

SOme Playstation 1 games will not work in big box
Ultra God Azgorath replied to ManGrissle's topic in Troubleshooting
I think I worded myself a bit incorrectly and therefore sounded inaccurate. I meant PCSX Reloaded, Retroarch psx cores and ePSXe all support pbp out of the box so once the conversion is done you can load the pbp file with the emulators straight away. The reason behind changing the options is that changing the folder name options makes it easier to see what game the eboot file is so you can rename it and the theme mode needs to be disabled if you want to merge and convert games with multiple discs/bin files into 1 pbp.- 45 replies

OK you now just rename that EBOOT.PBP to whatever the game name is. Example is Croc Legend of the Gobbos.PBP. Also go into PSX2PSP and select options, Folders tab and at the bottom select Create Main Game Title Folder so that the folder that gets created is the name of the game and not its game ID like what it is currently. While you're in options go to Theme tab and uncheck Use Theme Mode (Restart Needed) if you haven't done so yet. Now you can use that .PBP file in retroarch, epsxe and pcsx-reloaded.- 45 replies

yeah they're not cheap thats for sure. 8bitdo controllers should be a little more affordable.

Have you considered a raspberry pi 3? I know its not powerful enough to run anything beyond ps1 and probably not what you looking for but it's as small as a deck of cards. and its like less than $50.

ah I see. cool stuff. X-D

O Oh my apologies. I thought they didn't have them. but aren't the shoulder buttons very close to each other like in an uncomfortable way?

Looking for a remote/controller for Save/Load States inside Emulator
Ultra God Azgorath replied to avaris's topic in Monkeys
Xbox one and dualshock 4 controllers are the best but quite expensive. Best budget controller would be the logitech F310. -
Personally I'd get either the XBOX ONE S controller or DUALSHOCK 4 Controller as they have bluetooth and have more buttons to assign hotkeys like save/load states, fast forward and rewind but if retro nostalgia is what you want mostly and dont care about hotkeys then 8bitdo controllers are perfect.

you are supposed to convert only 1 bin file at a time if you want to convert single disc games. If you want to convert multiple disc games (Final Fantasy 7 for example) and merge them into 1 pbp file, switch off theme mode in the options 1st then you can convert and merge up to 5 bin files into 1 pbp file. If you want to convert multiple "TRACK" games (Nightmare Creatures for example), rather download a pre-made pbp file of that game as its a mission to convert and merge those successfully.- 45 replies

Can I make a suggestion? Download PSX2PSP and convert your ps1 bin files to pbp and then scan the pbp files with launchbox. The retroarch beetle PSX core supports pbp format. Make sure to put each game's bin and cue files in their own separate folder 1st before converting to pbp. So basically if you have 10 ps1 games and each game has a bin file and a cue file like they should (20 files in total), create 10 folders and make sure each folder has 1 bin file and 1 cue file, both for the same game.- 45 replies

I use ClrMamePro with Parent-clone DAT files from DAT-O-MATIC to scan all my no-intro zipped roms. It scans and renames any roms that have different names than whats in the database and deletes any roms that have different checksums/CRC values than whats in the database and even tells me what roms I have and what roms I'm missing.

I'm also having same problem BUT when I first downloaded and installed it, it worked 100% but then I fiddled with some settings in LB and/or BB and now all platforms only load default background, border, logo and pointer and I've checked the file names and they are exactly the same. If I reinstall LB into a new folder and setup all over again, it works 100% so its some setting or option that messes it up. Now Im trying to find out what causes it. Sorry forgot to quote Cid's previous comment too.

You can try a program called cdmage to try to fix the dump you got. Shining Force 3 was doing the same thing to me on beetle saturn core and I used cdmage to fix it and it now works.

Understandable James but basically if that particular person had a life and didn't abuse the poll like he did, Jason would've possibly left it open for about a week or so. Besides I'm sure Jason wants to get started on implementing the most voted features as soon as possible. Remember he has about a year or so to put in as many of the top voted features as possible before the next poll.
