How did you do it? There is actually an old way which changed several versions ago and is no longer valid.
if you placed a video in the /Launchbox/Video folder and named the video file startup then that is no longer valid.
Now you simply create a folder called startup inside the /Launchbox/Videos folder and place any videos you want in there and they can be any name. Example: /Launchbox/Videos/Startup/[VideoFile].mp4
You can use any length video and multiple videos as BigBox will randomly use on on startup.

BigBox you can lock so users cannot back out to the settings and alter them. That is the only current lock feature.

Set the exit hook directly in Retroarch. It is pretty easy.
Open RA and in the menu go to the Gears Icon menu and scroll down to Input.
In the input menu select Input Hot Key Binds.
In this menu set a control/key for "Enable Hot Key" (this would be the control/key you press and hold to activate the control/key you chose for Exit) then set a control/key for "Quit".

Could be a few things.
1. Make sure Mame can launch the games outside of Launchbox. If it does not confirm in Mame you have it pointing to the directory you have your roms in.
2. If it does, go to Launchbox and edit the emulator set-up for Mame. Make sure in the associated platforms tab you have the name of the Arcade platform for your games exactly as you have it listed in Launchbox.
3. If you are using a Mame offshoot like MameUI or Arcade64 make sure the mame.ini file is located in the root folder of mame where the mame.exe is located.

Any chance you have the background fade slider all the way up in your settings? If so adjust it. iexplorer.exe should not be required per Jason.

The background images don't seem to show up at all for me. Anything I can do?
You should not have to do anything as long as you unzip the theme in the correct folder. Make sure the subfolders are not altered as the theme looks for the images to be in an exact specified location.
In the pic pay attention only to the folders. I am modifying the theme so xaml files may look different in the pic than what is currently in the download.
Theme should be located in \Launchbox\StartupThemes
The Framed Platform folder should have subfolders like below. If the subfolders are altered the theme will not locate the images.

I have it loading the same way but it wont go into the table directly, just to the main menu, is there something else you had to do to get it to load right to that table?
In Launchbox go to Tools>Manage emulators and edit your Pinball FX3 set-up. In the main window make sure you have the box for "No Space Before Rom (primarily for NullDC)" checked. In the steps above all 3 boxes are checked, but I think you only need the one I mentioned and the "Use file name" one.
The steps in the original post work for the non-Steam version as well. Just add the PinballFX3.exe instead of Steam in your emulator set-up. Launching direclty into a table requires the "Cabinet" code from Zen Studios.

What if you choose one game, right click and edit that game and change the rom path from there. Does it stick?

email: support@unbrokensoftware.com let them know and you should get a response on the discount.

Good day everyone,
I have purchased the lifetime license for Launchbox a while back, but i never got a code for Emumovies, anyone knows how to get it? I believe it was 20% or 25% off the lifetime subscription?
Thank you,
It would be at the bottom of the email that was sent with your license.

Can you let us know how you are going about changing the path? What steps are you taking?
-
Yes, if it works definitely do not change.
See my prior post though as I mentioned I misunderstood your initial comment. I posted the change I have in the way my setup is that keeps the black screen from showing up.

@Roverius My bad you mentioned the hide window from the emulator tab. Yeah that way would only work with how you mentioned you did your setup. I don't know why I was only thinking the Startup options.
The way I mentioned works if I set the Startup Load Delay to 1 second. The blank screen does not appear and the game launches fine.

You can. It will just install a beta like any stable build right on top of your existing build.
In Tools/Options you will see the updates options. Choose the betas there. You can tick it for the current beta that is out. Then untick it if you do not want to try any other betas. Keep in mind there could be minor glitches, but Jason usually has these fixed quickly.

says version 9.3
OK, then the option I am seeing is beta only right now then. I am running betas on my setups now.
-
@Wulfgar Ok, then the setting may be something only available in the betas. Are you running a stable release?

If your Favorites playlist is set up to auto-populate with any games you mark as "Favorite" there is an option in BigBox, I believe under Security, to allow favoriting a game. Through this method you can accomplish what you want.

Should not take much to get it running. Unless you have bad roms. If your roms are zipped like @proghodet asked check to see the files it says are missing are contained. Really just as simple as pointing to the rom directory. It should work without quotes for the rom location. Did you try other games and get the same errors?

You can delete the xml from the folder directory, however Launchbox must be closed first.

Sega Genesis not being listed under Consoles, possible bug?
in Troubleshooting

In Launchbox right click your Genesis platform name and choose edit. Go to the parents tab and make sure you have it checked to show under consoles.
