  10. Old post, but a little bit of light on running ZX Spectrum on MAME. It seems the ZX Spectrum needs "ZX Interface 2" to run Cartridges. The right command tu run, for example CHESS game: mame.exe spec128 -exp intf2 -cart chess Hope it helps!
  11. MAME Software Lists Overlays With Instructions. View File I was very bored and I decided to add Notes to the stunning overlays @soqueroeu made! (Thanks for sharing ) I think this will help people load and run games mostly from Tapes and Floppies. when using MAME along Software Lists. INSTRUCTIONS: Just add all .zip files to /MAME/artwork/ folder. Make sure the name is the same as the used machine. Inside every .zip file there's: - A few versions of the overlays (as said before, created by @soqueroeu). - An example of the overlay with Instructions. - A settings.txt with instructions to setup the overlay. NOTE: Key Combinations are done with a Spanish Keyboard Layout. Probably won't match yours exactly, and you'll have to find the ones that matches your Keyboard. (Tip: You can see the corresponding keys on "Input Assignments (this system)", on MAME Menu. NOTE2: My english is far from perfect, and probably there will be some mistakes. Feel free to let me know if is there something wrong. Thanks and enjoy! Submitter ci2own Submitted 11/13/2024 Category Platform Bezels/Overlays

  13. Photoshop Nope. All in the same Platform. Smart Playlists for Cartridges, Floppies, Tapes, etc.
  14. After a lot of testing with autoboot, i choose not to use it in my setup. In a lot of systems, you need different commands depending on the game, and also you need to play tape until ends, to type the next command. And autoboot doesn't allow this. What i'm doing now, is to add notes to the bezels, so i know how to proceed on each situation
  15. hash file shows the same way to load, but don't seem to work for me either.
  16. To achieve 5 stars rating , you can also go to https://www.progettosnaps.net/support/ , download messinfo.dat and sysinfo.dat and place them to your MAME/dats/ folder. After that, run a computer, pres TAB to enter to MAME Menu, and go to External DAT View. Go to Sysinfo tab (Press right key for that), and you'll see the usage for the running computer.
  17. If you open a command-line terminal in windows, and go to the MAME emulator folder (where you have mame.exe), and you type: mame.exe -showusage you will get a ton of possible modifiers you can use. (I attach you the output in a .txt file son you don't need to do it)MAME Usage.txt One of the modifiers you can use is: -listmedia. Using the pegasus example, if you type: mame.exe pegasus -listmedia, you will get this useful info: So you can use this modifier with other devices.
  18. Stunning work you did with this! Is there any chance on doing a Default ones? (One for Horizontal and one for vertical games) Just to fit the gaps. Anyway, thank you very much for your contributions!
  19. You have to difference between the next two possibilities: 1) You add the command in the "Emulator Settings". @JoeViking245 "-f" before command-line parameters works here without any problem for me. 2) You add the command in the "game settings", doesn't matter if you edit one by one, or if you use bulk command-line editor, you would need to add -L "cores\mame_libretro.dll" (Don't use "-f" modifier here). See the next example:
  20. This document can also be very useful if you plan to add more software lists systems. MAME Software List Instructions.txt Search by platform. For example "Amstrad CPC", or by machine "cpc664".
  21. Here you can check the "fully" working machines: https://mame.spludlow.co.uk/WorkingMachines/SoftwareListRom.aspx
  22. MAME SL on RetroArch is a pain in the ass. After a lot of try, i ended up using MAME for SL which works perfect. Anyway i still have some MAME SL systems working: The next configs are working for me right now, so try them. 1) Check RetroArch/config/MAME/MAME.opt file 2) Check RetroArch/system/mame/ini/aa3000.ini file rompath points to the folder with bios (in my case the complete MAME romset. Not the SL one) be sure aa3000.zip is in the rompath folder. 3) Check only "Remove quotes" in your RetroArch SL emulator. 4) Use the right command for your platform 5) cfg files are in this folder, in case you need them for something: RetroArch/saves/MAME/mame/cfg Hope this helps.
