Not sure why this weird version is even circulating. The end digit is the release year. Making this a 2010 version which is not even in their release history. I think EMUCR posted wrong crap from where ever they got it...... again. The latest version of is demul 121017.

This is now resolved in the latest version of DEMUL 121017l!!!!

So I have all my windows games I use in Launchbox in a shared drive/portable. Works awesome! However, some of the older games requires compatibility modes to be set like DPI settings or color mode or windows version. The down side to just right clicking and setting the compatibility mode is that it only applies on the PC you do it on. So if you go to that game on another PC, you have to dig into the folders and set the compatibility mode again on any other PC. So.... My question is, does anyone know how to set commands in a windows shortcut, or even commands in a .bat file to set certain compatibility modes like the color, 640x480, or disable DPI? Shortcut or .bat would work just fine for me. Example of what I mean in shortcut is setting parameter like: "g:\game\game.exe" -fullscreen -winxpmode -640x480 command. (This is just guess example and is not actually) Or Even commands/parameter command-lines inside launchbox when editing a game? Thanks!

I have all my CD-i games working. It's just hard to know where he went wrong during the tutorial.
-
Just gotta make sure you have the CHD in the ROMs folder. Thats all I needed. I followed the video tutorial to the T. Not sure about Dragon's Lair. I play that on Daphne.

Does anyone using MAME for CD-i, know how to force bi-linear filtering off? I am using mameui 64, and doing all the video changes in menu only seems to affect arcade games. Not CD-i emulation. Hoping to edit a config file or something.
-
Use CHD files!! They work perfectly! you can find them by searching cd-i chd. Read a little in and you can see where you can choose the CHD individually then the entire database which is massive!

I don't have the wireless xb1 adapter. I just use it wired USB. It does work with all my other games and emulators. Just DEMUL has issues. I would assume if something was interfering with it it would affect my controller across other programs also. But, willing to try anything to discover a fix.

Let me know if you stumble on any awesome exclusives other then the 3 zelda games and the apprentice that I should try!!!
-
Wonder if this would work for XB1 controller. And if it even will work if the EMU doesn't see the controller even after putting this in. Sure hope so!
-
Ok just tested unplugging my wireless XBox controller adapter and seeing if my XBox one controller would start being seen, it did nothing. Still no recognition of the XB1 controller

Thus far I tested the Following using MAME's CHD for: Link - Faces of Evil (seems 100%) Zelda - Wand of Gamelon (seems 100%) Zelda's Adventure (Seems 100%) Hotel Mario (Seems 100%) The Apprentice (Plays well, has few discolorations during title, just little tearing in gameplay) I don't really care for any other games unless they are exclusive. I play all the other big CD-i games in better systems like DOS or other console emulators. Also, instead of using just MAME... I am using MAMEUI 64. It is set up exactly the same however you will have a GUI for working on the video settings in the menus. Highly recommend this over the command/basic MAME!!!

I figured it out.... they did not mention you have to uncheck in the emulator settings for mame/mess the boxes for "Don't use quotes" & "Use file name only" & "No spaces before rom" After unchecking them at all worked perfectly!
-
I am a little stuck.... So I followed the video tutorial and I got only the files they mentioned; cdimono1&2 and the CHDs for the games I am testing. Put them all into roms folder. I am using the current MAME 0.189 x64 release. Did the command line perimeters as show as will. When I launch the game nothing happens. I do not see the mame INI, however they mentioned if you use the default roms path then it shouldn't need tweaking. Any suggestions? Maybe I need more files for the roms folder?

hmmmmm i do have a xbox wireless adapter pluged in but i dont use it/wirless controller is not on. will try unpluging it. let me know if after you bind your 360 controller, and then plug your ps4 controller back in after, if it keeps its settings/bindings.

ooo, mr.laor et me know if this works. i wont be able to try it for awhile!!
-
Will do. Thanks again!! P.S. I had Both Dragon's Lair 1 & 2 and Space Ace working on Daphne. Super worth getting it going!
-
Awesome. I guess it will the best CD-i emulation available other then paying for the CD-i Emu?
-
So I finally got my DEMUL working perfectly... however I can't get it to see my Xbox One Controller. I even heard some had same issue with Xbox 360 controller. Any one know of any solutions? It just doesn't map. Drivers are all good and work on ever other emulator I have. Google searches I see people talk about it years ago but no conclusions. Thanks!!!
-
So confirmed then... Just get the latest MAME and it will have MESS's CD-i emulation?
-
So I have been trying to learn more about CD-i Emulation, and it all seems to boil down to the paid CD-i Emu and MESS. But this info is years old from what I can see Googling it. Anyone know of anything new? Also, I looked up MESS and they say it is incorporated into MAME, but MAME mentions nothing of it. Any help guiding me into the right direction would be great!! Thanks!
-
Looks like it works great. But will only work on the PC installed on. Won't help me on the networked PCs running launchbox portable. These apps are awesome though!!
-
you said there is a comparability panel... are you talking in DB or windows? I know the ones in windows and they are restricted to the single PC that changed them.
-
I only know of a few command-lines (windows) like adding "-f" or "-fullscreen" will force the software to launch in full screen and there are memory ones and CPU core commands. There has to be commands for color depth or resolution.... I hope.
