  1. Just posting the list here is perfect. I'll go and check if themes exist on EmuMovies, which they should if the games are popular, and then I'll work on the logos and videos. If themes don't exist then we'll need to pick some different games. I haven't heard of Comicbookgirl19 but I'm glad that the books are still getting some love!
  2. Thanks everybody for the feedback. I think I'm going to stick to my original vision of the videos using the HyperSpin themes, where they dim after ~5 seconds to allow the genre logo to take focus. I'm glad you all are finding these useful! Sure thing, post your list of representative games and we can take it from there. Please keep in mind that I'll need to make some new logos as well. Thanks! I'm a huge music person, so having good tunes was key. I honestly get more excited to play by hearing the jams than seeing the videos.
  3. Thanks @Hank7_98, I can definitely do that if you give me 12 representative games for each genre.
  4. You're tough to please! The gameplay vids are intentionally dimmed because otherwise it's super distracting visually, to the point of being unusable in my opinion. I can verify that the sound isn't distorted, but it is from a 25-year-old arcade game so it's not exactly hi-fi.
  5. @damageinc86, here's a test version of 2D Fighting with gameplay footage only. What do you think?
  6. Here's a mockup of the artwork on the cabinet itself.
  7. Hi all, I'd like your feedback on my first draft of artwork for my upcoming MAME bartop build. I've decided to call it "ROM Runner," both as a nod to Blade Runner and a pun since it will literally run ROMs. The visual theme takes heavy inspiration from modern interpretations of retro sci-fi, with the Tron-like grid and purple/blue color scheme. Aside from the art itself, I'd also appreciate a functionality check on the labels for each player's admin buttons. "Credit" and "Start" are a given, and I think "Pause" makes sense, but I'm not sure about "Exit." It might be better to keep that set to a key combination that's not as easy to accidentally press. The control panel will definitely have four admin buttons, so I need to come up with something for the fourth button label. Thanks!
  8. Thinking about it a little more, I could use overlays/bezels for the vertically-oriented games in order to keep things consistent. The end result might be less visually distracting than the current videos as well. I'll revisit this in a couple of weeks when my build is finished. Thanks for the feedback!
  9. Thanks. If all the games chosen had 4:3 aspect ratios (which would be nigh-impossible for genres like vertical shooters) then it would be straightforward to do. For now though, I will just be enjoying these themes as-is and continuing the rest of the work for my arcade cabinet build.
  10. I've put together a set of frontend video themes intended to be used with arcade genre-based playlists. The genres correspond roughly to the "All Killer, No Filler" playlists compiled by BadMouth and the ArcadeControls forum community: I designed the logos and edited the audio/video collages, but much credit and many thanks are due to the EmuMovies community, HyperSpin community, and @CriticalCid for creating the game-specific video themes and capturing all the gameplay footage. The video files are hosted at EmuMovies and are available here. Clear logos for these genre playlists are available here. You can see a preview of the videos below on YouTube.
  11. Wow. Is there a programming reason for that? I thought exclusive fullscreen was usually a program default, with windowed fullscreen being something the user had to select if desired.
  12. Just as the title says, I'm looking to start BigBox in exclusive fullscreen mode for better integration with my arcade cabinet. I don't see any options in the BigBox interface for this to happen. Can anyone please advise?
  13. You're very welcome! I can definitely spin you a general "Shoot 'Em Ups" logo later today. Do you want it in the same style as the current ones? I'll also make a general "Fighting" logo since people might have their 2D and 3D fighters combined.

  16. Sorry the info I linked wasn't helpful. Are you running Windows 10 Enterprise? I think that version is needed for this to work.
  17. I think it's all due to mining. From what I gather, mining is nearly all GPU-based so miners are springing for budget processors like the G4560 since it won't bottleneck their operation. Other budget CPUs in the same range also have inflated prices, not to mention all the GPUs. Thankfully for us gamers, the price of Etherum is dropping and difficulty of mining is increasing, so prices should stabilize if not drop significantly as the second hand market gets flooded with used gear.
  18. Here's a tutorial I have saved for when I finally build my arcade cab: Comprehensive guide to hiding Windows 10 complete for arcade cabinets
  19. Thanks Jay! We have a specialty liquor store here in Tucson called "Rum Runner," so perhaps that was floating around in my mind as well. The wife seems to approve of the idea so far, fingers crossed...
  20. Looks great! I plan on using essentially the exact same PC components in my bartop arcade cabinet. It will primarily run MAME, but also newer fighters like Street Fighter, BlazBlue, and Injustice, so I'm targeting the solid 1080p gaming performance of the G4560 and GTX 1050Ti. Keep us posted on how your rig turns out!
