@JoeViking245 The save configuration feature is available only when opening mame itself. I did not open mame itself, i opened mame by opening SFA2 via LB and then configured the buttons in general input, after that the inputs are saved automatically, there is no save configuration feature when opening a mame game via LB. Yes, the rap3 responded correctly - the buttons order was the right one. The buttons order got messed only after the exchange. @midd The rompath in mame.ini is "roms;X:\Roms\MAME 0.227 ROMs (merged);X:\Roms\MAME 0.227 CHDs (merged);X:\Roms\MAME 0.227 Software List ROMs (merged)" My mame version is 0.227. When i update mame i only overwrite mame64.exe and leave the rest as is.

@JoeViking245 I did the above. The problem remains as seen in the general input screenshots. As seen in the screenshots, SFA2 P1 and Vendetta P4 have the same buttons naming because that is the rap3 buttons naming language. After the exchange, for some reason, the SFA2 P1 Did not inherited the P4 Vendetta rap3 buttons order and that is the problem (it only inherited the rap3 naming language). In other words, after the exchange, SFA2 P1 buttons order should be 0, 3, 5, 4, 1, 2, 7, 6. Notice that for SFA2 P4 the buttons order is also messed up but i would not care since as far as i know, there are no 4 players fighting games. Btw, rap3 first buttons order starts from 0 and goes to 1, etc. while xinput (the xbox controllers) first button starts from 1 (A), an go n to 2(B), 3 (X), 4(Y), etc.

@JoeViking245 You mean sfa2.cfg? Yes. I deleted it, launched the game and the wrong layout remains. After i closed the game, went back to the folder, the file was there again.
-
@JoeViking245 I changed to your ArcadeStick.cfg and the wrong button layout remain. It seems that after the exchange (in fighting games), mame keeps the Xinput player 1 buttons layout (first pic) and messes with the button names of player 1 and 4 (first and second pic). Player 1 general input in SFA2 (wrong buttons layout with wrong buttons names: Player 4 general input in SFA2 (correct buttons layout with wrong buttons names): Player 1 general input outside of fighting games, correct buttons layout with correct buttons names: Player 4 general input outside of fighting games, correct buttons layout with correct buttons names:

@JoeViking245 Yes, the joystick works fine (character movement directions). The problem is that all of the button inputs are in the wrong order. I wonder what makes the buttons change order after the exchange. Maybe a bug? For the Xinput player 1-3: button 1 is 3, button 2 is 1 and button 3 is 2 because the genius microsoft decided that for xbox controllers the button count starts from the bottom button which is A. I much prefer the playstation buttons layout count in terms of ergonomics (X is attack and A is jump, and so on, this is how buttons are configured in most old consoles controllers and in the arcades and for good reason), that is why i assigned button 1 to X (button 3 in ms world) and so on. Anyway, it seems to me that the buttons are configured correctly in the default.cfg because they work in the right order in non fighting games. Maybe a solution is to create a second cfg\default.cfg, call it, say, default2.cfg, with different JOYCODE 4 buttons order and make the arcadestick.cfg call that? If so, which command lines are needed? I need to create second mame.ini as well with "ctrlr ArcadeStick"?

@JoeViking245 I did option 2. It made the exchange but for some reason now the arcade stick (joycode 1 for fighting games, joycode 4 for the rest) inputs are messed up a bit in fighting games. Outside of fighting games the inputs are correct. How to make the arcade stick inputs carry correctly in fighting games? Maybe another command line is needed? Here is my ctrlr\ArcadeStick.cfg which calls cfg\default.cfg in fighting games.

@sundogak Since LB categorize fighting games by "Fighter / Versus", would it be possible to tell lb or mame to exchange controllers only for games in the "Fighter / Versus" genere instead of creating a new mame instance? Also, if i create a new mame instance i would have to import all the fighting games again just for that instance, right? I mean, it would be unrealistic to edit "edit game/emulation" of hundreds of fighting games one by one. I'm trying to keep things as simple as possible. @IainSA The intent is to exchange places of joycode 4 between joycode 1 for fighting games, like SF2, and having xinput 1-3 for joycode 1-3 and the arcade stick for joycode 4 for everything else.
-
So i edit my cfg\default.cfg - configure all the controllers inputs to my liking, check the file with "read only" and also backup it. Now the 1, 2, and 3 Xinput controllers function as wanted (JOYCODE 1, 2, and 3), great! But for some reason mame refuses to accept my REAL ARCADE PRO.3 inputs (JOYCODE 4), EDIT: I noticed default.cfg JOYCODE 4 inputs are different than the General inputs in mame menu, i guess because this arcade stick has 3 different configuration modes. Anyway, i configured JOYCODE 4 inputs again and for some reason after it mame finally reflect the change in game. Its sorted. Here is my updated and fully working cfg\default.cfg file: default.cfg What about question .2? Rephrased it and edited the opening message: "2. How to exchange the places of "xinput Player 1" (JOYCODE 1) between "real arcade pro 3" arcade stick (JOYCODE 4) with a press of a button (JOYCODE 4 turns into JOYCODE 1 and vise versa)? I bet there is a command line for it. Reason: Generally, fighting games are more suitable for arcade stick so i would like the option to use my arcade stick for JOYCODE_1 only for those type of games."

I copy the controls from cfg\Dafault.cfg to my custom ctrlr\Controls.cfg but now only JOYCODE 2 and JOYCODE 4 buttons configured and the DPAD and left stick movement still does not work. JOYCODE 1 and JOYCODE 3 does not work at all, not the buttons and not the DPAD and stick movements. What's next? Here is my updated Controls.cfg: Controls.cfg Mame.ini input:
-
How to know which button commands to add for each controller in Controls.cfg? Where does mame save its "General Inputs" configuration? I think to copy the general inputs to Controls.cfg to make sure i write the right commands instead of copy paste your own commands that may not suit my configuration.

1. How to enable both DPAD and the left analog stick for character movement in standalone MAME? For xbox series x\one controllers. With the following configuration neither DPAD nor the left analog stick work. How my general input movement for player 1 looks like: 2. Reason: Generally, fighting games are more suitable for arcade stick so i would like the option to use my arcade stick for JOYCODE_1 only for those type of games. My Mame64\ctrlr\Controls.cfg configuration:

@Headrush69 Thanks man. It loads now.

I'm trying to load each game alone from LB. I directed LB Maddog Mcree ROM file location to Singe-v2.00-Windows-x86_64.exe location. What are the commandline parameters to add and where?
-
Did as you said. The problem remains.

I'm trying to make LB call the singe2 games (not the singe2 frontend). I put each game folder in singe2 folder. I started with Maddog Mcree for test and created a .bat file with the command: ...\Emulators\Singe2\Singe-v2.00-Windows-x86_64.exe -k -w -z -d -n data -v Maddog McCree\Video\maddog.mp4 Maddog McCree\Script\maddog.singe put it in singe2 folder: Pressed the singe2 Singe-v2.00-Windows-x86_64 exe, Imported the MaddogMcree .bat file to LB with the following platform settings: When i try to load the game from LB i get this window:What to do next?

I fixed the problem. 1. I created a new emulator configuration only for RA flycast arcade (naomi and atomiswave) 2. I unchecked "extract rom archives before running" which was preventing naomi and atomiswave games from running. Now the games run from LB.
-
Yes, i have all naomi 1 files in naomi 1 folder. I tried Spawn.zip, 18wheelrr.zip, for example. Yes, it is pointed to the same folder. The folders i use for naomi 1 and atomiswave were meant for demul but flycast uses the same files (zips and chds) and they are from mame and they run from RA... 2 screen shots from Naomi 1 folder: Beginning of the zip files: Beginning of CHD folders:

I put system type on naomi and save settings to core and game. When launching from LB the naomi logo appears with "eorror, cannot open by the main board" something like this. Close to the recent version. In the information, for naomi, it just lists the naomi.zip with no additional information. With that said, as i wrote, the naomi and atomiswave games do run from RA, just not from LB, isn't the problem in LB then?
-
Yes, System Type is set to auto.
-
When trying to load content from Naomi and Atomiswave from LB the Dreamcast boot menu appears. How to solve this? For bios, i put the bios zip files in the system/dc folder: awbois, naomi, naomigd, f355bios, f355dlx, hod2bios, airlbios. For games, i use .zip files from Mame files. I tried to run naomi and atomiswave games from RA and they run.

@dominikabra I have a very bad experience with making Demul arcade boards work with LB. I read different guides and nothing really helped. I kind of gave up. I say, forget it. Just use Demul outside of LB or if you still want to use that board with LB then try RA flycast core like zugswang suggested.
