  1. I hope someone can help me point me in the right direction. I'm relatively new to mame and I figured most of it out. There is still one problem I can't seem to find on google as I don't know how to describe the menu button (forgive me, I'm Dutch ;)) of these controllers I use, namely the Logitech F310 joypads. I'd like to be able to map this middle/menu button which the PS3, PS4 and XBOX controllers have as well to name a few. I am able to map this button in RetroArch but I do wish to use Mame for many arcade games, anyone know more about this? Thank you for any help you can provide!
  2. Thank you for thinking about this, this is not the game i'm sad to say. I think I have to find a database with all the covers to be able to find it, I just found a website but sadly they are only game screens in the browser, I'm gonna check em out one by one, will let you know if I find it http://plus4world.powweb.com/games.php?l=0&cols=&icons=
  3. Mr. RetroLust's Neo Geo Marquees - Pack 1 of 2 View File Mr. RetroLust's Neo Geo Marquees Pack 1 of 2 This is version 2.0.0, I deleted the first version I uploaded here so be advised to overwrite the old versions with these updated better quality versions. See below for more details. Description I made these Marquees exclusively for the LaunchBox community as appreciation for the awesome work, software and everyone that contributes to this amazing community. I find the official single 'mini-marquee' system a bit boring with just one small mini-marquee on a huge red plate and as the games came with more instruction flyers and artwork I got inspired by the dual-marquee layout to use the second placeholder for more artwork for a single game, for some games I couldn't find extra flyer material so I used artwork from back-covers and such to fill up the second placeholder. Now it feels a bit more colorful. If you like these marquees please use the review option below as well, much appreciated. Includes Marquees for 73 games (see list below for more details) Made from the highest quality artwork available Version 2.0.0 changes: Optimized marquees without scratched texture overlay for deeper colors and contrast on the mini-marquees Cleaned up and color corrected artwork Custom translations from Japanese to English where needed Exclusive Day mode / Night Mode (unlit/lit) for every marquee Including restored/remade/revived Full Marquee versions for some games that weren't available anywhere else before Optimized dual mini-marquee layouts in 21:9 aspect ratio for full screen ultra-wide marquee monitors All marquees are 4K Ultra HD Resolution; 3840 pixels wide with variable height for Full Layout marquees See this thread for more details on this project: Installation Place the files in "Images\*Name of your Neo Geo directory*\Arcade - Marquee". The file names have the rom name so if the title changes in the launchbox games database these files still get linked to the rom files, please note that some games might have a specific version in the name so you should change it accordingly, example: The Burning fight version that you use could be: "burningf" or as I use: "burningfh". Eassiest to check is by dropping all the files inside your Rom directory so you can compare them directly side by side (that is if you keep your Neo Geo files separated from Mame roms as those directories could be a bit large) You could delete the versions you don't like; Night, Day, Full or Mini-Marquee or just let BigBox randomly choose a version for you each time (if I'm not mistaken) when you have different numbers behind the images (01, 02, 03, 04) List including games Pack 1 of 2: +++ - 3 Count Bout (Fire Suplex) +++ - Super Baseball 2020 (2020 Super Baseball) +++ - Aggressors of Dark Kombat (Tsukai GANGAN Koshinkyoku) +++ - Alpha Mission II (ASO II: Last Guardian) +++ - Andro Dunos +++ - Art of Fighting (Ryuko no Ken) +++ - Art of Fighting 2 (Ryuko no Ken 2) +++ - Art of Fighting 3: The Path of the Warrior (ART OF FIGHTING: Ryuko no Ken - Gaiden) +++ - Bang Bead (Bang Beads) +++ - Baseball Stars Professional +++ - Baseball Stars 2 +++ - Battle Flip Shot (Flip Shot) +++ - Blazing Star +++ - Blue's Journey (Raguy) +++ - Breakers +++ - Breakers Revenge +++ - Burning Fight +++ - Captain Tomaday +++ - Crossed Swords +++ - Crossed Swords II +++ - Cyber-Lip +++ - Double Dragon (Double Dragon 6-1) +++ - Eight Man (8 Man) +++ - Far East of Eden: Kabuki Klash (Tengai Makyo: Shinden) +++ - Fatal Fury: King of Fighters (Garo Densetsu: Shukumei no Tatakai) +++ - Fatal Fury 2 (Garo Densetsu 2: Aratanaru Tatakai) +++ - Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory (Garo Densetsu 3: Harukanaru Tatakai) +++ - Fatal Fury Special (Garo Densetsu Special) +++ - Fight Fever (Wang Jung Wang) +++ - Football Frenzy +++ - Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors +++ - Ganryu (Musashi Ganryuki) +++ - Garou: Mark of the Wolves +++ - Ghostlop +++ - Ghost Pilots +++ - Goal! 4. Hi all, I have found back almost every game that I played when I was younger but there still are 2 games that I can't seem to find, hopefully you can help me find them. 1. On the Commodore 16. A friend of mine had a game we played a lot, I don't know if it was an unlicensed game or not. I remember it had something of a blueish cassette cover with some sort of cute character on the cover, the character was pink or yellow I think and I think it was a bath-duck or something but it could be a worm or something as well lol, if I see the cover I'll recognize it in an instant. Same goes for the gameplay, it was some sort of pac-man clone I think but it wasn't pac-man. It was maze-like and if I remember correctly it had pickups like fruit as well, I guess it had cherries and watermelons but I'm not sure. Blue and yellow colors where also present in the game field I think. As you see it's a very faded memory, hell it's been about 35 years back lol. Edit: Something comes to mind that the character or something else could explode or something like that, I'm not a 100% sure about this but maybe it helps. Sorry for all the vague-ness. 2. MS-Dos or beyond, it was on microsoft is all I know. I only played it once but was really impressed with this game, all I can remember is that you controlled a ship on an ocean, I don't know for sure but I think it had an ancient samurai-like theme and I think the main thing I liked about this exploration game was the spooky and mystical vibe it had, could have been in japanese but I'm not sure. Spooky asian (could have been samurai) environment ship exploration game is all that comes to mind. Thank you for any help it would mean a lot to me if I could see or play these once again
  5. That's enough motivation to upload the first pack then I'll upload it later on today
  6. @Styphelus Sorry I didnt saw your answer below the link to your files, thanks man! I will definitely share them and be sure to notify you. If you still have the .psd or other source files/layers/links etc. it would help me out a lot.
  7. Ah yes now I remember, I really love all these graphics man! Thank you so much for these, it's my favorite pack to use for all platforms! Would you mind if I use the arcade version for future variations of some arcade systems? I'll make sure I give you proper credits for them, also if you still have the source material or .psd file of this could I use it? Please be honest if you'd rather not as I would understand. Thanks again for all your work!
  8. List of games done and list of to do, It's going slower than I initially thought lol but it seems i'm on 50%, not sure if I should already release what I finished or wait uploading the complete packs. Is there someone willing to help uploading all the finished marquees and it's various versions to the database? Done, 72 games, including day and night mode, some have an extra full marquee version in day and night mode: ------------------------------------------------- +++ - 3 Count Bout (Fire Suplex) +++ - Super Baseball 2020 (2020 Super Baseball) +++ - Aggressors of Dark Kombat (Tsukai GANGAN Koshinkyoku) +++ - Alpha Mission II (ASO II: Last Guardian) +++ - Andro Dunos +++ - Art of Fighting (Ryuko no Ken) +++ - Art of Fighting 2 (Ryuko no Ken 2) +++ - Art of Fighting 3: The Path of the Warrior (ART OF FIGHTING: Ryuko no Ken - Gaiden) +++ - Bang Bead (Bang Beads) +++ - Baseball Stars Professional +++ - Baseball Stars 2 +++ - Battle Flip Shot (Flip Shot) +++ - Blazing Star +++ - Blue's Journey (Raguy) +++ - Breakers +++ - Breakers Revenge +++ - Burning Fight +++ - Captain Tomaday +++ - Crossed Swords +++ - Crossed Swords II +++ - Cyber-Lip +++ - Double Dragon (Double Dragon 6-1) +++ - Eight Man (8 Man) +++ - Far East of Eden: Kabuki Klash (Tengai Makyo: Shinden) +++ - Fatal Fury: King of Fighters (Garo Densetsu: Shukumei no Tatakai) +++ - Fatal Fury 2 (Garo Densetsu 2: Aratanaru Tatakai) +++ - Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory (Garo Densetsu 3: Harukanaru Tatakai) +++ - Fatal Fury Special (Garo Densetsu Special) +++ - Fight Fever (Wang Jung Wang) +++ - Football Frenzy +++ - Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors +++ - Ganryu (Musashi Ganryuki) +++ - Garou: Mark of the Wolves +++ - Ghostlop +++ - Ghost Pilots +++ - Goal! 9. Thanks for your reaction, ah ok I thought I mention it as feedback in case it got overlooked.
  10. @Jason Carr One last thought, I don't know if you are already planning this but I personally have a hard time to quickly navigate my eyes to the data I'm specifically looking for as all the text is in one color, might it be possible to add an option to alternate/colorize the data columns? Maybe even together when you change the theme color, see below for an example of what I mean, in my opinion it would really benefit the readability and design. Like it is now: Alternate column color example (it's not a very nice color in this case but at least you know what I mean):
  11. @Jason Carr I do notice in this beta that the setting for fade background doesn't make any changes, the background image has no fading applied to it, do you notice the same or is it my settings? I do have unchecked everything in 'background priorities' and 'default background' set to use launchbox default background. Ps I cant believe how super smooth and fast it is now in comparison with regular launchbox and a huge (mame at the moment) library, thank you again, really happy with this
  12. I really (really x3) love this image and would like to make some variations on this for other arcade systems in the future, but I would very much like to know whom is the author of this so I can ask for permission. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks This:
  13. It looks amazing, thank you so much!
  14. Example of reconstructing/remaking from low quality Neo-Geo mini-marquees with high quality scanned material from flyers and doing translation from japanese version to english, quite some work all in all but in the end we'll have a near complete collection of marquees of almost every Neo-Geo game.
  15. And finally the Night Mode version, some special attention to the specific lighting sources.
  16. From photo to restored Marquee. Finished result in Day Mode (will upload everything as soon as I'm done with the Neo Geo collection, I think about 2 weeks from now):
  17. Filters are nice to work quickly but basically you can do everything yourself if you know how, there is always something to learn in photoshop (or other software like photoimpact as I use for a very very long time now) if you search for tutorials on glow/diffuse glow and such.
  18. Vectorizing the lightning bolts from the existing mame bezel and adding them to the project with blown up reference photo of the marquee.
  19. Thanks, I really like the Wii U marquees you made, my pc isn't capable of emulating Wii U sadly but to me your skills seem above entry level! Hope to see you continue to make more marquees man! For the the glow aspect of most of the marquees I used an old free photoshop filter named: "Diffuse Glow v1.1" by Richard Rosenman, you can still fiddle with the results of this filter by adding more gaussian blur, saturation and stuff like that. If you ever need help or advise let me know, would be glad to help out.
  20. Thanks! Yeah me too i'm suprised others didn't apply a night/lit mode earlier in their graphics, since an arcade is mostly dark and light plays an important role therein. In the future i'll start on bezels with lighting effects as well, will be a 5 year plan all in all perhaps lol but it's worth it.
  21. Finally seeing the finish line (phew), all that's left to do are the lightning bolts and the spiral behind the logo.
