  1. With the new Auto feature, is there a way for a user to blacklist games from being added? I.E. In my RPCS3 I have a pkg installed that is not a game, but LB is finding and adding it. I would like to turn it off somehow so it doesn't scan it in. Anyway to do this or can it be added. So it adds it, I could right click on the game and tell it to exclude from the auto feature or something???

  2. Just wanted to let LB team know it is working for me. I do not use the default rom and media paths. What I do find strange is it found games in a few platforms that the normal Tools > Scan > Scan for Added Roms... didn't find??

UPDATE: Kinda made a mess of my PS3 games, added many games files as games, such as files nested within an actual game like BLUS31450 - Adventure Time The Secret Of The Nameless Kingdom\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\npc_marceline.pak. Added as a new game named "npc marceline" I got a couple hundred of them. Still looking at them, but so far, all of them are using the *.pak file extension

I have to turn the feature off, because after deleting them, it just scans them right back in...lol:P

  3. I've noticed an odd behavior with LB / BB and 2 monitors.  All my startup and pause themes are defaulting to the monitor that I have BigBox set to use when launching a game even if launching from Launchbox.

For example, if BB is set to launch on monitor 2 all my startup and pause themes will use monitor 2, as they should.

if BB is set to launch on monitor 1 all my startup and pause themes will use monitor 1, as they should.

However, if I have BB to launch on monitor 2 and launch a game from LB on monitor 1, my startup and pause themes are still using monitor 2 rather than monitor 1

  4. PSGC +Arcade

    View File

PSGC +Arcade is about the same as PSGC with an Arcade twist. The PSGC +Arcade themes have been updated with even more custom made Platform/Playlist backgrounds, Audio Clips and Controllers. New screenshots (1-12 basic theme 13-26 SE version) (see changelog below for all the info).  PSGC was made to match one of my themes (skins) done for the PSMC media player

PSGC +Arcade is a Netflix type theme that is great for a home theater experience. The custom colorful fanart backgrounds transition to random Platform/Game artwork on the left side of the screen and to Platform/Playlist/Game video snaps on the right side of the screen after a couple seconds.

SE versions include all the bells and whistles; multiple views, textured backgrounds. SE users also have available to them: 13 platform/playlist audio packs, the platform/playlist video snaps, choice of backgrounds, custom badges that can be used in Launchbox, sound packs, custom made playlists used in the videos, and more.

@goin3d @Beforedeth @Vader Can you update to the latest beta and let us know if you're stilling having the issue with your options window not opening correctly? We believe it to be resolved in this latest push and would love to have confirmation as such from some users who were experiencing the issue.

If it's of any interest to team or @shadoweez . I found my issue. I deleted my settings file and the "options" began working.

Upon further investigation, using the newly created setting file, I found missing artwork again. Same as I posted about before.

After looking at the Platforms.xml, it's an issue related to a mixture of absolute paths and relative paths both being in the file. I'm not able to quickly fix this in the Platforms.xml as I have done so in the past with notepad++,  as there seems to be a cached file somewhere over riding any changes I make to my Platforms.xml. It appears the only way I seem to be able fix this is to do it go through every platform and fix every path one at a time an allow LB to save it's relative path that I navigate too.  Am I missing something on a quicker way to fix the paths????

  6. I am curious why "THE FIX" in the last beta fixed some and didn't fix others? Do myself and @shadoweez have something in common that the others didn't have?

    specs:

    Win10
    Nvidea 1080ti
    Dual 4k monitors
    non-standard media locations

gotta be something I would think????

    Anyone have any ideas?

The Options open up, then disappears, then LB just hangs up, have video if ya need it

This doesn't sound beta related and I'd open up a separate post if you need help resolving it.

Nah, used some of my backups. TY Sir.

Just a thought, might be wise to not drop beta's just before the weekend when much of the development team is gone for a couple days? 9_9

  9. Not 100% sure this is beta update related, but after I updated to beta 5 I noticed some missing artwork (not using default locations for my media), when I looked into it, the following folders had been reset back to default locations for every platform (40+). I found it strange that it was identical to every platform? Luckily I had a recent back to go back too.9_9

    • Video
    • Manual
    • Music
    • Banner
    • Box - Back
    • Box - Front
    • Fanart - Background
    • Screenshot - Gameplay
    • Steam Banner
  10.

I can confirm the same issue as @BigCaah and @eonder87

It happens every time I try to go into Tools > Options

All I can do is kill LB in task manager.

UPDATE 1: I also tried to go into Tools > Manage> Storefronts and logging into all that apply to me, shutting down LB and re-open.

I still get the pop-up when trying to go into the options and have to kill LB

UPDATE 2: Also noticed after restarting LB, sometimes the Epic stays logged in, sometimes it doesn't and when I click on it, it appears to log in instantly, not sure if LB is sending false info about log in status or actually not logging in?

Also, not sure if Ubisoft Connect is suppose to be displayed this way (without options), so I updated Uplay manully, logged into it, checked the "Remember" box, restarted LB and no change to the Ubisoft Connect.

Ah yes. Thanks for pointing that out. Message Boxes is a deprecated system and we'll internally decide what we want to do about it moving forward.

Highly recommend sticking with LaunchBox Notifications moving forward.

ahhhh crap, I hate things that want to pop-up in places that don't belong to them.......I hope it gets to stay in

  12. 13 minutes ago, faeran said:

Go into Options > General > Updates and turn off "Automatically Download Updates in the Background". After you do this, you may need to go into your LaunchBox\Updates folder and delete the latest setup file.

I think I may have found it, it has to do with the notification settings in LB, it happens when I turn on Use Message Boxes (what I been using), see SS. If I change it to Launchbox Notifications it doesn't do it. @faeran, (I never had the auto on)

  13. How to I stop LB from starting update download without prompting me first?

Here a log if it helps.

    Debug 2023-09-26 02-54-25 PM.log

I don't understand why it started this, if I turn off the "Update to Beta Releases" it stops of course. As soon as I turn them back on, it automatically starts downloading as soon as I open LB. I posted about it once before when this beta first released.

If I cancel the download, then I have LB check for updates, again, no prompt, it just starts downloading.

UPDATE: uploaded setting file as well

    Settings.7z

  14. Haunted Woods (this is a Novelty theme)

    View File

A year or two back when @faeran was making the "theme videos", he had done a halloween theme. I was cleaning up a bunch of my old theme stuff and ran across this one I had done back then but never uploaded. I did open it up in the current version of CTC and re-published it to see if it still worked.

I was brand spanking new at themes and CTC back then, but I was having so much fun with it and I most certainly got a bit carried away with it.

If you decide to download it and check it out, it will go on and on and on, but hang in there. Eventually it might grab a hold of ya.

WARNING 1: It's silly, but might be a bit scary to the little ones

WARNING 2: if you navigate to a new platform, the video sequence starts all over again, you been warned :D!

WARNING 3: If you watch the video, I reckon you won't have a reason to download the theme xD :P

Working fine on my builds and my test machine. The download prompt appears and even the notification bell shows an update is available. What theme are you using?

LB theme was the default LB theme, I got no download prompt. I usually get what you got in your screenshots. Maybe it won't happen with next update. . .

  16. When opened v13.7.1 after ya'll pushed new release v13.7.2, I'm not being prompted about updating. It just automatically starts downloading new beta. Setting are same as has been for years. Just reporting.
