Hello, i have been digging into this as far as i can with whats available. And noticed one thing. BB and LB getting stuck in memory is a symptom of a much larger problem. After killing exe from memory and using resource monitor i noticed that LB folder has stuck fonts into system memory and is occupied by svchost. At this point i need to ask if someone has kept older updates to share? I deleted older versions edit: apparently i cant even go back. It keeps enforcing new update 😕 EDIT2: This font issue even happens with standard shutdown of LB and i dont even use normal "default" theme..

Its no use. I am out of ideas what to try. I even went with clean instal of LB to a new folder and just moved images/videos/xml's and its still happening. Both LB.exe and BB.exe are stuck on memory. Easily Repeatable

That is already turned off for me. But if have some special debug command that could help find out what is it doing after exit command, it could help.

Hey, i dont have crashes. But stuck in memory happens every time i exit BB after 20+mins of playing a game. Sometimes its just BigBox.exe while other times its also LaunchBox.exe stuck in memory. I will have to resort to custom cmd to auto kill on exit. Debug 2025-03-07 03-12-23 PM.zip

It happened again. Just as i finished writing. Started playing game for 20 mins, just finished, exit and BB is stuck in memory again. But now i am using Wmp so that is not the problem P.S Happened 3rd time. This time i recorded. Start BB, start game. Play for 10 mins. Finish exit game. exit BB, BB stuck in memory I dont have freezes, BB works smooth. There is nothing to be seen on video tho. Everything was clean. Clean start, clean exit. I was playing a lot last months it wasnt happening before

Hey man. I didnt leave idle. In fact i closed it cleanly. And i was happy for once how fast it was. It launched instantly all videos loaded in instant. I played a game closed it down. That was 3 hours ago. Launched right now and BB is actually stuck in memory. Didnt close. So i closed it and launched again and now it wont start at all. Its just stuck ,theme loaded but thats it. its unresponsive P.S while stuck its using more and more memory every second. While i was writing this it took 500mb of system ram and its climbing. This time i right clicked on app in taskbar and closed. Loaded immediately. There is a problem somewhere P.P.S I changed to Wmp now , because vlc was causing animations to skip frames and act all wonky. Maybe it will fix freezes as well. Will report if it doesnt. Hello! With recent changes to animation in BB. I am experiencing problems. All animations act like they are skipping frames its rather anoying. (I am referring to CD spinning on the right, video has BB left and CTC right comparison) I compared animation in CTC and its butter smooth. Even recorded the problem. If someone knows how to solve the problem, do let me know? Thanks

Thats not quite right. Maybe you made separate configs per game instead of global for all games so they behave differently? There is a folder "gamesettings" inside duckstation if it has files in it , it means you made separate configs per game. Its best to do global config not one by one. You can just delete those files and start a new. -
Thanks. Your new way to load information side tab with video and description solved the issue of some videos not loading in proper format. Issue i posted some time ago. Althought could you maybe speed up loading of the panel just a bit faster? There is a bit of delay between clicking and popup panel appearing. I hear sound first and then delay for popup to appear. Its not very big delay but enough to be noticed. Basically, logo appears first. Then imidiatelly i hear sound. But animation? (of the panel) lags a bit behind and results in information and video appearing late. 2. Notification icon is bit too bright. It looks like as if there is a notification in it.

Values represent pixels. 1. One way to do it is with Paint.Net open your image point to top left corner of bezel starting point and look at bottom right corner of P.N where it says X/Y that is starting point. Move mouse down to bottom right end of image bezel and look at point values again. That is end point. -Problem with this is that it only gives basic points. Because duckstation stretches on specific formats 4:3,16:9 etc. So your bezel needs to adhere to that format. -This values are also not perfectly correct due to formatting. You will need to do some manual correction. 2. Start a game any game in duck , Open settings in duckstation and leave it open. Now make DS fullscreen. Alt/Tab to settings tab. Click custom , load your bezel and start clicking and writing values in custom tabs to move and reposition image. Look at image i attached as guideline One of easiest ways to get proper empty space in your bezel is to take screenshot of the game in fullscreen (without bezel) and add to image editing tool as overlay on top of your bezel, position it to perfect center. Cut space in your bezel where screenshot image is and in theory it should fit P.S There is a bug in duck with Export button in border. It will write ImagePath: instead of Image: inside .YML file. So edit the file and change that -

Click wheel (settings in duckstation) -post processing-border overlay and select overlay 2a /2b PSX_ULTRAWIDE_3440X1440_16x9 2a. Click Graphics -Aspect ratio -16:9 (Set game graphics aspect ratio 16:9) PSX_1080pxPAR1x1 2b. Click Graphics -Aspect ratio PAR 1:1 (set game aspect ratio PAR 1:1 should fit all 1080p resolutions tested on 1920x1080) 3. Please select default overscan (only overscan area) Done New V3 are different files. Feel free to delete old resource files. There is a bug in image replacing/refresh in new LB I remove specific image, OK. Press refresh selected. All good so far. Now i add new image , OK (refresh or not doesnt matter here, its always the same). Now click (loop sign to check media above game) and instead of showing new image it shows image i deleted instead a new one. And it will keep showing it until i restart LB. Image in my case was 3d box image. P.S it doesnt happen every time. But it happens on some games as if there is a bug in logic Example: Image in preview on right is showing new image. But game media shows Old image

Yup, i look at game in LB, change to another and suddenly that game shows only black screen with audio playing. I Switch to other games back and forth , back and forth and after few times videos shows. I did not experience that before (i didnt check LB since summer) so about same time as you. Sometimes video is not black but instead it is cut down to 1/10th of the size and displayed in a small corner... P.S I think it might be theme issue actually. Default one. I was using default plus before i didnt see that happening there P.P.S It's not the theme. Just happened out of blue on another theme

Thanks! Crash when changing emulator is fixed with beta2. However i get very often errors on clear logos When ever i edit game metadata . clear logo pops error in 99% of the time. I am not sure if that is the Theme problem or LB? It feels that theme didnt unlock resource properly and it gets locked. Process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. It only happens on clear logos I am using Default plus , LB theme P.S As suggestion for game checker, maybe it would be prudent to add option to only scan for specific extensions. And ignore everything else? LB can surely check which extensions already exist in that platform and only check for those?

Hello! I am experiencing problem with changing emulator in game options. LB freezes and eventually crashes. I tried multiple systems. Click to open list , select new emulator and LB just freeze.

Maybe you could do this by introducing 'mixer'? example: second part of tool, in which you can do above, select choice "background + X(logo?)" and produce mix of it. it would be a simple call to both elements from launchbox with lets say style : fade or others? its base what themes are already doing Then on main app window just give option to inject that in the list.
