  1. It's good to see others running into this issue. At least its not just me now. I have tried about 8 different themes, including ones Jason suggested, and I still get crashes if I let it sit in attract mode. Does yours crash and leave you with a hidden mouse cursor at the Windows desktop screen?
  2. Can you make one for Visual Pinball X too?
  3. I second this. Virtual Pinball is not a copy/paste task like some of the console builds. Visual Pinball was a big learning curve for me, but these videos help a lot. Learn to add, and edit tables yourself. It will make you understand the entire scope much better than you would by copying tables from someone here. Be ready to be mad, happy, mad, happy, finally figure it out, then give up, then finally figure it all out again. ? Hell, even after a year of using it, I still dont think I truly understand all the DMD stuff. I still manage to fuck it up from time to time. It is all worth it in the end though.
  4. Figured it out... my file was named "Visual Pinball X.jpeg" ... should have been *.jpg The file extension was particular
  5. @Retro808 There does not seem to be a "Visual Pinaball X" background image. Instead, your startup screen shows an arcade machine with a don't use drugs sign in the middle, when I start my Visual pinball X tables/platform. Where is this image coming from?... I dont see it in any of your image folders. I tried adding a jpeg and PNG image named the same as my "Visual Pinball X" platform. But it does not work... still shows the aforementioned arcade image with don't use drugs in the middle.
  6. Thanks man! I just tried it out and it looks great. Definitely a great add-on to my build ?
  7. I did not know how to use Photoshop either, and refused to buy it. So I went with a free product called Gimp. It is basically a shareware version of Photoshop. Give it a try. It has a bit of a learning curve, but I figured it out through youtube videos. I also use the built in Windows Paint 3D for quick crops and image edits before bringing into Gimp. I can share my templates if you decide to go the Gimp route. https://www.gimp.org/
  8. I don't have a start-up image showing controls (not enough time for me to study it). But I do use Retro808's pause theme for displaying my own custom images. Here is an example of how I have it set up for NES... And here is an example of one of my Arcade fighting games, Mortal Kombat III...
  9. I am, seeing different gameplay videos now. How do I prioritize full screen gameplay videos instead of the themed looking ones with animations floating around the gameplay video?
  10. Thanks @neil9000 It has been a while, so I had forgotten how I did that. I remember now ?
  11. I have the lifetime BigBox license for my build. My brother just bought a standup arcade box and I want to share this build with my him; but I want to also support @Jason Carr and team. So, may plan was to give my current BigBox/emulation build to my brother and tell him to buy his own BigBox license. With that said, what is the suggested method for him to buy and then import his own license/key into BigBox/Launchbox?
  12. Q1 - not that I know of Q2 - your favorites are pinned to the top of the game list when in BigBox. Its hard to tell when using clear logos images; but when you use a text view to show your games, there is a big star (asterix) next to the games name, making it easier to determine.
  13. When I open this using Gimp, I can not see the greenish smokey background layer. Can you attach that layer image for me to import? I think it may be getting lost do to the Gimp conversion from Photoshop.
  14. Look under your "Launchbox/Backups" folder. There will be a bunch of ZIP files. Unzip the newest file and place the contents in the "Data" folder.
  15. Could it be related to Attract mode? I am still getting crashes, but only in attract mode now. Still troubleshooting and looking for a pattern before I bring it up to jason. I was getting them all the time when I had my RAM clocked at its advertised speed. But once I set it to Auto in my BIOS, that got rid of most of the crashes; now I am left with crashes only during Attract mode. I can almost see it coming. Attract mode starts off fine, then it starts struggling with showing the games Clear Logos, stops showing them, then crashed to desktop... Task manager shows nothing is open, but I am missing my cursor as if I was still i BigBox. BigBox is the only program I have this happen... doesn't ever happen in Launchbox either.

    PinBall

Read through those links that Retro posted, especially the Visual Pinball one. That is the most used pinball emulatoir around here from what I have seen. Reading through that thread will let you see the quirkyness and difficulties you may run into with your setup. Visual Pinball is not perfect in Launchbox/BigBox, but it is very workable once you get the hang of it. And learning the Visual Pinball X emulator by itselt is an adventure in its own. So, be ready to learn by yourself instead of asking for instant answers. VPX and Pinball are not plug and play like many of the console emulators. Here is a quick video I made for myself just in case my system farted out. It will show you how to setup Visual Pinball X in Launchbox/BigBox... assuming you already masterd VPX outside of Launchbox/BigBox.
  17. I feel your pain. There are so many great themes I bypass just because of this. Unified Refried has an extra View that leaves the Clear Logo on. But it has its tradeoffs too. AllNightLong theme has some good views too.
  18. My brother just ordered one of those too. It looks like a very nice controller. He got it with the 32" full arcade unit
  19. @Jason Carr I was able to track my quick crashing which left me without a mouse arrow to a RAM issue. Specifically, I was overclocking it too hard. Once I set it back to manufactures default speeds, I have had no crashing issues with BigBox. Sorry for the run around; hopefully it can help with future people with similar issues.
  20. Farts! I spoke too soon. I have my DMD working fine now after reverting back to a prior release of Game Rerady drivers for my Nvidia 1660. But BigBox can not pass focus to the VPX table. Instead I have to click the mouse somewhere in the screen to activate it so I can put credits in/start. Any ideas?
  21. I reverted my Geforce GTX 1660 back to the previous version of Game Ready drivers and it is working fine now. Now I am remembering why I hate PC gaming so much =P Fucking drivers
  22. Thanks, but that didn't work. I still can not see my DMD unless I alt+tab. Then as soon as I click the table screen, the DMD goes back behind the table. Though it all works perfectly fine if I open the table in VPX instead of BigBox Fucking driving me nuts. Dark art indeed. This sucks because it all used to work great.
  23. Which of those files do I download? And where do I put it? It's been a while since I messed that that stuff.
