  1. Wow! this theme look amazing. May I suggest platform art for Pinball?
  2. @Jason Carr After having a good run of no crashes the past few weeks, I just had another. After a few hours, I came home to see my desktop with a BigBox error message... see below (also reported it through the 'Report Error' automated process). Though, I did not see an error in the Event Viewer, Windows Logs, Application. The only drivers that have changed recently was a resent update to the latest Nvidia game ready driver. Thread abort is not supported on this platform. App: Big Box Version: 11.6 Type: System.PlatformNotSupportedException Site: Void Abort() Source: System.Private.CoreLib at System.Threading.Thread.Abort() at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.Audio.SoundManager.KillDeviceReleaseThread() at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.BigBox.MenuActions.ExitMenuAction.OnEnter() at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.BigBox.ViewModels.MainViewModel.OnExit() at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.BigBox.ViewModels.MainViewModel.HandleKeyDown(KeyEventArgs e) at Unbroken.LaunchBox.Windows.BigBox.Views.MainView.rLQPSlSBOK(Object , KeyEventArgs ) at System.Windows.RoutedEventArgs.InvokeHandler(Delegate handler, Object target) at System.Windows.EventRoute.InvokeHandlersImpl(Object source, RoutedEventArgs args, Boolean reRaised) at System.Windows.UIElement.RaiseEventImpl(DependencyObject sender, RoutedEventArgs args) at System.Windows.UIElement.RaiseTrustedEvent(RoutedEventArgs args) at System.Windows.Input.InputManager.ProcessStagingArea() at System.Windows.Input.InputProviderSite.ReportInput(InputReport inputReport) at System.Windows.Interop.HwndKeyboardInputProvider.ProcessKeyAction(MSG& msg, Boolean& handled) at System.Windows.Interop.HwndSource.CriticalTranslateAccelerator(MSG& msg, ModifierKeys modifiers) at System.Windows.Interop.HwndSource.OnPreprocessMessage(Object param) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.InternalRealCall(Delegate callback, Object args, Int32 numArgs) at System.Windows.Threading.ExceptionWrapper.TryCatchWhen(Object source, Delegate callback, Object args, Int32 numArgs, Delegate catchHandler) Recent Log: 4:50:00 PM Exception
  3. I stopped it yesterday to play some pinball, but let it run all night again and its still running, no issues. So this seems to be a real fix, not a fluke
  4. Maybe a success! I ran it all last night and I woke up with it still running. Though I am not exactly sure that the .NET update you listed is the cure. A day ago I also updated my Nvidia 1660 drivers to the latest game ready drivers - they were a little behind. What made me want to update the Nvidia drivers was because I was having issue with Microsoft's Paint 3D app. After a Windows 10 update (a few updates back), I started having issues with images not opening. I would double click the image, and it would hang when trying to open. It was hit an miss if it would open or not. Seemingly random. After doing some research online I saw that others were also having the issue, with one link took me to an Nvidia link showing Paint 3D bug as one of the fixes. After updating my Nvidia driver the Paint 3D bug disappeared. Bu t I didn not test Bigbox attract mode until after updating .NET... so its hard to say which was the fix. So, this is either fixed by the Nvidia driver update, or by your .NET link update. I will continue to test and let you know. But this seems to have worked ?
  5. It's good to hear you are still interested in it. I can see how it would be a bear to incorporate into Launchbox/BigBox. Your best bet would probably be to start a collection yourself, learning how all the pieces fit and all the options available to the user. Otherwise, trying to learn from only us in the forums could be confusing. I know I couldn't wrap my head around all the pieces until I finally dove in and learned by trial and error, and also a lot of help from people in this forum and the VPX forums (vpforums.org and vpinball.com). A lot of us around here play in a simpler to set up desktop view, but many others play in portrait mode with multiple monitors. Visual Pinball X is one of those emulation hobbies that allows you to either go fairly simple with desktop view table emulation... or all the way up to creating a life sized pinball table having 3 or 4 monitors (playfield, backglass, DMD, video topper). If you want to research a (pinball specific) frontend that most hardcore virtual pinball players use, see PinUP. I have yet to use it, since it is not necessary for simple desktop gameplay and 99% of the tables. But some of the newest tables that have a ton of video trigger bells and whistles require it since the artist that created it wanted to display it that way. Like I said PinUP is not necessary for 99% of the tables, but it's frontend structure may give you some ideas. https://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I have been playing around with the VPX Pinball stuff for a couple years now. And there are a handfull of other active people in here that are helpfull with this stuff too. You may have noticed that I did not mention Future Pinball. That is another popular free pinball engine, but no longer supported, as the dev gave up and did not open source his code. VPX-Visual Pinball X is still very active/open source, and arguably the best pinball physics.
  6. I ran attract mode last night to get you another error/crash log. See attached two files. The first log (Bigbox-libavcodec_plugin.dll) seems to show the crash happening after about 5 hours of running (I started it around midnight), and the second log (Bigbox-.NET Runtime) is from 1-second after the first log. new1-a.txt new1-b.txt
  7. I am not sure, but last I heard they looked into it, but found the constantly changing table names to be a barrier. For example, the tables are always being updated and modded by different artists, giving them nice upgrades, but also changing the name of the table launch file.
  8. I have noticed that since the last Windows update or two, clear png's hang when opening with Windows Paint 3D. It will eventually open if tried multiple times. It is almost as if Windows changed the way it handles these clear PNG's or something... just pure speculation on my part. I wonder if this has anything to with all of this. Has anyone else seen this buggy issue with Windows and clear PNG's lately?
  9. That worked - installed fine manually, thanks.
  10. I am unable to update from 11.5 to 11.6 I get an error message, which I reported twice through the automated channel through BigBox. Though here it is again just in case. .. 11. I have been suspecting this for a while. I wish there was some way to prove it on my end. And there is no way I can go through all my files to determine which games have bad videos... there are too many that were automatically downloaded to go through.
  12. I am using the 'All Night Long' theme... but I have tried just about every theme with the same results, including a couple you suggested in the past. I can't help but to wonder if it is caused by a fucked up video file. Maybe one that got screwed up mid download through Launchbox... just a complete guess. I am going to do a test tonight where I only allow attract mode to scroll through my Visual Pinball X platform. I created all those videos, so I know they all work fine.
  13. Ok, I got a crash after leaving it running all night-about 8 hours. As usual, the crash resulted in BigBox shutting down leaving me at my desktop with an invisible mouse. See below, let me know if you need any other info. 14. I just ran it for 3 hours, no crash. The 11.4 update may have helped my system. I've had Attract Mode turned off for a while since it was crashing on me. I will continue to test.
  15. I've been away from home all day with work, so give me a chance to change it back to "fastest" so I can try to crash it and get report. I will send another reply with your name attached once I get a report. Usually when it crashes i loose my mouse cursor, so I have to do a hard reboot to use my PC again. And last time it crashed, it totally froze my machine with a weird sound loop, so gain had to do a hard reboot. Will rebooting screw up the error log?
  16. I think you may be on to something with the speed settings. I am one of the thorns in your side with this crashing issue; but, after changing from fastest to Average (for min and max), I was able to go an hour without it crashing-I stopped it at an hour, no crash. I usually have a crash within 15 minutes. Though I still do have the issue with having to force close my Bigbox after exiting if I want to open it again... otherwise it says it is already open. I'm sure you already know of this.
  17. No, though I have seen old posts about it from time to time. I figured it had been abandoned. Let me know if you figure it out.
  18. I use the mupen64_plus_next core. It allows me to upscale the graphics and get some amazing results.
  19. They all look great... good job and thanks for sharing these!
  20. I work with CAD for my job for creating construction plans. I bet vector art programs have similar tools. I would love to give it a try. I imagine it's great for an almost lossless format, being that the vectors could be scaled up for larger resolutions. What programs do you use?
  21. Cool idea. These are the overlays images I have been using for a few of my consoles, for RetroArch. I made the PS1 bezel, but found the others online somewhere. Feel free to use if you want.
  22. Hah, count me in. I am using your other one and love it. So, I'm happy to help you with this one
  23. Looking good man!
  24. Using MAME for arcade games and RetroArch for NES and a few other consoles, I have it set up to use either my Arcade Stick/buttons (seen as keyboard by PC) or Xbox controllers - for all the games in each Platform (not a per game setup, even though that is possible). I am pretty sure it was an easy setup, nothing special. You just have to map all the actions to both controllers. Maybe I understood the question wrong?
  25. Do you have BigBox set to hide it?
