Finding Your Steam Custom URL

Hi everybody, i faced the same issue and was able to fix it.

Here are the steps:

  • Go under your steam Profile
  • Click on Edit Profile
  • In "Custom URL", add any ID (it doesn't need to be your steam ID)
    screenshot.png
  • Save
  • In launchbox, fill the same ID you have entered on the custom URL

And, now you're done !

Inside of Steam. In the Main UI you have the headers Store, Library, Community, and then your profile name. Click the profile name. On the page that loads on the right there should be a link that says "Edit Profile" click it. Should bring you to the page you need.

Please review this thread if you are having trouble finding your Steam Custom URL. It's important to note that your Steam Custom URL has nothing to do with your Steam login ID, and may not be the same as your Profile Name. We can all thank Valve for making it so confusing. ;)

Your Steam Custom URL is available to read or set from inside of Steam. So first, open Steam, and then click your profile name at the top. Then, click the "Edit my Profile" link on the right. Your Custom URL is available on this page.

If you need further help, please feel free to comment below.

Thank you for clarifying this.  Steam is the worst software and setup ever created but many seem to like their dictatorship.

Can anybody tell me what's the status of the STEAM import function?
Does it work for some and not for others?

I've tried for hours trying to get it to work and am ultimately considering adding my steam library via the add adding a platform and add emulator option in LB. However this method is tiring as i have to point every game to it's own exe file

Thanks for this!!! It took me a few tries to understand this.
Let me see if I can help clarify this for anyone else. When you look at your profile and follow the instructions and go to the "edit profile" page. If you look in the address bar and see https://steamcommunity.com/profile/ 1234567890. This will not work and is NOT what you want to see.  Follow what Format_C posted, what I quoted here, in the custom URL line just put an id that you want. it is what is setting your id so it does not need to be a URL, example johndoe2567 then save it you should now see when you go to the profile page that it now reads as https://steamcommunity.com/id/ johndoe2567/ now just go back to the launchpad page and enter ONLY the unique id you set not the whole address and you will be set

Hi there

Struggling to connect to Steam. My profile is private, I have made a custom URL, and retrieved my API, but account cannot be accessed?

Hi there, did you read the first two posts of this topic? The profile must be public in order for the import to work.

That should work fine to get it to work. If it doesn't, then something is going wrong in configuring the account, or you have the wrong custom URL.
