It doesn't need to follow English so C&reate using R, O&luştur using L, or Oluştu&r using R are all valid. The trick is that wherever this text is shown the access key is ideally unique amongst other elements in that menu/page which I know is not super obvious from just the language files which is probably why favoring the English access key feels simpler. We can probably do better here (not exactly sure how right now), but in short you can do whatever feels natural to your language and the only challenge is if the letter is reused. Thank you for the detailed answer. We will try our best to avoid reusing the shortcuts, however if it happens we will be testing and fixing it on next iteration. and what about "_" (underscore) ? what it does? I believe it's similar but used with another command button. Quote

In that case, definitely use the same symbol from English :), hopefully we did it right 🤪 Quote

OYUNCU973 Posted September 14 Posted September 14 Hi Jason,I am a big fan of LaunchBox and I want to officially translate the Android application from English into the Azerbaijani language. Since the app is built with Kotlin Multiplatform/MAUI, I cannot access the standard values/strings.xml files directly from the APK.Could you please provide me with the official English resource packages or the localization platform link for the latest version? I have an AI assistant that will help me translate the entire package flawlessly into Azerbaijani. Once it's done, I will send the completed file back to you so it can be integrated into the official release.Thank you! Quote
eonder87 Posted September 24 Posted September 24 My latest translate file. Maybe do it for next beta Thank you @MysterNybble Language-tr-TR.7z Quote

eonder87 Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Just now, OYUNCU973 said: I have an Android phone, where do I put it? You cannot use this; the LaunchBox developers use it for the Windows version of LaunchBox. They are also preparing a new beta or the next release. If you want to use it in Turkish, simply set your mobile phone's language to Turkish; many parts are already displayed in Turkish. However, the Turkish language might not be directly supported on the Android side. Quote
MysterNybble Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Calling all translators ... I have been working for quite a while on creating a place for us to manage translations, hopefully a little bit easier than the way that we've been doing it. It's a dedicated site that will collect all of our translations and make it easy for you to review and edit them. No more zip files, no more downloads/uploads, and all of those good things. We genuinely appreciate all of the translations to date, and this is our attempt at making it easier for you. I am looking for some beta testers to this new tool to give it a once-over before I roll it out to everyone. If you have any interest in helping me test it, please respond to this or send me a message and I'll send you the details for how to access the tool. It is something I'd like to roll out pretty quickly. So if you don't have any time in the next few days, just wait for it to get released. But if you do, let me know. It won't take a lot of time. All I really want you to do is to log into the site, play the role of translator, and give me feedback. Some notes about how we will be approaching things. We will be using an AI model for any initial or missing translation. We don't blindly trust AI translation, so we ask for those to be reviewed and corrected or accepted as is by a person. We are working on a system to enable more accurate pluralization when appropriate instead of the assumed one versus not-one that English and some other languages use. This will require a coordinated change inside our applications so may not be ready until the next release cycle. We are also bringing in user-facing websites as time permits. The translation site itself will be managed this way. You will access this with your Unbroken Account (former Games DB account) I think that covers it. Let me know if you want to help test! Quote

Hopefully easy for you to get into it, but long story short, no more zip files, no more resx editors, no more of most of that. If you want to help, Go here -> https://contributors.launchbox-app.com/ Sign in using your Unbroken account (former Games DB account) Under Translations -> Scroll down to Get started Fill out the little form, choose language, and which apps you'd like to help with. For now, you can just do the LaunchBox for Windows (though both are available if you want to help translate the translate site). We are using an LLM for AI suggested translations and your goal would be to go through them, see if they are correct, approve them if so, or fix them if not. It's a new system so please let me know if you have any challenges or feedback, but I am hopeful this will make it easier on you and we can finally move on from this slog of moving files around in a forum thread :). 3 Quote
Opak Posted Wednesday at 11:13 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:13 PM It's crazy how accurate the AI is. I dont know how it is for other languages, but LLMs seem to have solved english to german translations. There were only a handful of strings that were off. I guess we are not needed anymore 😅 Quote

The website is totally fine, I didn't have any issues with it. But I really hated the fact that the AI always has the last say when we change something, demoting us translators to Clippy the paperclip. For example, i tried to keep the iconic Sega "Nintendon't" slogan in english, because it doesn't make any sense in german, but the AI didn't let me do it. It's cool that it checks our Input and gives an explanation of why it refuses it. But we can't even argue back or overrule it's decision. And another thing that new translators will probably stumble upon, is the huge amount of just plain numbers that need translations. For example, in the DosBoxConfigForm.resx are alot of those, I always kept them empty over the years, because it just adds unnecessary data to the files and Launchbox will fall back to english anyways. Also the credits in the AboutForm, I left them empty because sometimes new people will be added there, but if we add a translation, it's baked into the file and we always have to manually check and adjust it. But other than that, it's a great tool and saves us a lot of work. Quote

Hi everyone, I'm still waiting for the activation link for the new website. This isn't the first time I've had issues with Launchbox notifications. There have already been two releases where I didn't receive emails about upcoming versions, which caused me to miss the deadline for submitting my files. Absolutely nothing arrives in my inbox. It's been almost two days since I requested access to the new site and filled out all the information, but still no activation email. Could you please help me out? These are good points, thanks so much! #1) I agree; that you should have the final say - and the way you describe it would work well. You submit the correction, AI says no, you give your rationale for why you were right to begin with, and then you're done. Then it could get prompted to an admin to have final approval (much like we've always done in the past with the files) #2) I favored having complete translations files instead of the fallback. It is annoying for the first go through of a language so hopefully the approval process was quick enough. My general assumption is ... any assumptions I make about how languages work is wrong because every language has its quirks. #3) The way the system will work is *if* the English words change, it will get pushed back into the queue for re-review. You won't need to remember to look back and you would only see those that are new or different. 1 Quote
