SentaiBrad
Create your own thread for your theme and I will add it to the list of themes! If you've been playing around with the new themeing engine in LaunchBox Beta for BigBox, then share your creations here for everyone to see! If you would be so kind to use a friendly upload service, that would be great. A short list of providers we like are Mediafire, Mega, Google Drive and Dropbox. Just post your link in a reply with a small description! BigBox User Sound Pack Mega-Thread! kerszr
I think this one will be easy to do... maybe. Sometimes when im browsing my games the text gets obscured by the background! could we create background for the text, titles, and other oddities. Would it be possible via theme editor?
kerszr
just something like this with text contrasted by another color so it's easier to read from the couch :)
Styphelus
That's a fade feature already in lunchbox. You can fade out your background so the text stands out. Just move the slider until you are happy with the amount of fade.

I almost instantly got submissions for that. :P
alexis524
Maybe this has been asked, but, any capabilities of being able to use/apply themes from hyperspin since it sounds like we'll be able to pull from them?? there's a DS theme that is killer and would love to be able to use in LB. SentaiBrad
No unforunetly. Hyperspin themes are in a different engine, and XAML is remarkbly more powerful. I wouldn't be surprised if someone re-created the most popular ones or even if some of those creators decided to try XAML.

I have created a few themes for HyperSpin and worked as a front end web developer for close to 8 years. I have never used XAML, but from what I have read, the transition from HTML/CSS is quite easy (at least I hope so) I cant wait to start learning! niglurion
Here's a first test of a custom theme in response to @viking. It's not really advanced and only work in Vertical Clear Logo Wheel. But I wanted to test this feature myself I'm not a dev in real life, just a graphist. This theme feature is easy to understand and modify. It's a pleasure :) I think everyone can make his personal theme without too much difficulties. My only complaint may be about images. I don't know if it's posible to use custom images for Plateforms Banners (a specific relative link) for a specific theme so... for now, we have to change manually (or through Launchbox) every banner of every plateform. There's a good link for high resolution photos: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Evan-Amos Download link: http://www.mediafire.com/download/g7kjy9owg9vevw6/WhiteLine.zip Warning: disable "show Favorite Games" and "Show Recent Games" in Option > Filters List in BigBox. If not, there will be ghosts lists and... it's annoying I hope it will work for you
SentaiBrad
Yes, you can replace the clear logo's for the consoles. Someone gave me the basis for the background to create a unified theme for them. I was hoping to get the ones they used, but basically yea you can replace them. Updated main post. SentaiBrad
Also, you can do it specifically like you ask. Edit a Platform and choose the Folders Tab, then edit Clear Logo. Replacing the image file might be easier though.
niglurion
I forgot to mention that you have to edit the line 29 in Views/PlatformWheelFiltersView.xaml with the right absolute path on your PC (it's the ellipse). I didn't understand how to make a relative path inside BigBox If anyone has the solution...
Awaken Jenova
Hi everyone, just wanted to say that BigBox is amazing so far! I can't wait to see further updates etc! Not sure if this has been discussed but I was excited and wanted to share in case others may be wondering ( = After paying for the premium version I started to set up my systems and play with a couple files to get it a bit more customized and to my liking...I was not sure if I had to resize anything etc etc ....it was real simple by just replacing the banner and artwork under Platforms for the system itself without any resizing of pictures...new system logo and artwork. Anyways, keep up the great work!
CriticalCid
I’ve changed the Wheel view for the games to show gameplay videos with an 4:3 aspect ratio in fullscreen. The view is intended to play recorded standard HyperSpin themes as videos and it seems to work pretty good so far. I’ve only spent 10 minutes on it to see how hard it would be to do it and yeah, it was pretty easy :) Sure it looks pretty rough and it needs a lot of tweaking but it’s a start: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENE0BqkCdww Here’s the BigBox theme if you want to test it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_6XLOBnGwlUT2F3MXVhaDFoQ00/view?usp=sharing And here’s the link for HS themes I've recorded so far: https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_6XLOBnGwlUN3dUN2h5UWN1VUE&usp=sharing
Awaken Jenova
That sounds nice and I will take a look but you need to set the video so it is not private. ( = Also...are you saying you were able to get themes in by actually showing a recorded video of the theme? If so....wow and great job! CriticalCid
Thanks for the hint. You should be able to see it now :)

Awaken Jenova
CriticalCid that is very cool! It is honestly exactly what I wanted and tbh is just as good to me / if not almost better being a video and having it with the logos to the left still visible etc. I was just looking at HS FE for the original XBOX earlier tonight thinking that is exactly the look I am after. Great job!
CriticalCid
It’s just a very quick test on how it would look like and how easy it would be to change things. It’s more like a prototype and not intended to be really used. Just wanted to share the idea :) And to be honest I only understand maybe the half of what I’ve actually done, it was a lot of trial and error I have finals in a few weeks and I don’t think that I would have the time and mood to learn XAML before August. So if someone wants to jump in and make a great view out of the idea with additional game info, etc you’re more than welcome. I think in combination with the planned background video feature (which could be used for HS widescreen themes) it could really look quite awesome. Especially if BigBox could automatically change between the video background and the 4:3 theme view based on the aspect ratio of the videos. Maybe Jason could even add a new folder for video themes so that we don’t have to replace the normal EmuMovies gameplay videos with the video themes. On this way it would be pretty easy to switch between the clean and flashy views without any hassle. Also I need to mention that theme recording is VERY time consuming. It took me almost two hours to record, edit and render the 16 themes. So helping hands on that matter would be more than appreciated and if someone needs to know what program and settings I used to edit and render the videos let me know.
