NJDave71
I Narrowed it down to the new Arcade playlist. Hopping that can be improved since it's a great way diving the games in to sub categories
DeletedUser#3940
I just updated to the beta and am now getting file system errors I just found out that my internal drive is now assigned the letter E despite me never touching that. Is there a way to change assigned directories within Launchbox? The file system is intact but it is all assigned to the D drive letter
smpetty
I am no longer able to download platform videos through LB (v7.8 b11). When I try and download the platform videos in batch through the LB interface, it takes forever and then generates a list of errors. Is this a known issue? chglcu
I was able to download platform videos earlier this morning (I think, maybe it was last night, kind of a blur right now for some reason), but there's a post in the Troubleshooting forum with someone else having similar problems. Maybe the server's just having issues right now.
neil9000
The servers have been getting spanked recently, a popular youtube channel featured launchbox and we had a massive influx of extra traffic over the weekend. The forums were even down at times due to high demand. A bit of patience may be required.

smpetty
Thanks for the info. I've had the problem over the last 48 hours. It roughly coincided with the update to beta 11 and I was worried that it was a bug. Just curious - are the platform videos downloaded from Launchbox servers or from EmuMovies? Launchbox servers, hence the problems. A lot of people couldn't even update to the latest beta either.

Is there supposed to be a playlist folder in the image folder? If I just create one will launchbox pull from it? Edit. Ok so creating a folder does work. So now I have to create 13 more folders in the playlist folder, then create a clear logo folder in each one of those......bit of a pain. Oh well here goes. Oversight or bug? @Jason Carr Edit 2. After creating the playlist folder and closing and reopening launchbox it has auto created the folders I need. So might be a bug in creating a playlist folder after initially creating playlists, I did close and open launchbox when I created the playlists but the playlist folder was not created. Before the official release we're going to include clear logo images for all the automatically-created playlists, just like we do for platforms. But yes, the current location is LaunchBox\Images\Playlists and the structure behaves just like platforms (though admittedly I don't like the structure and I'm tempted to change it, though that would be a royal pain).

When I created my own playlists from scratch, they show up in RocketLauncher as platforms - this is a good thing because I can add fade, bezel, etc... The auto created playlists for arcade, like capcom classics, arcade classics, etc... do not show up as platforms in RocketLauncher. They all launch using the bezel and fade for Arcade. Anyone know how i can change this? Obviously not a huge deal. I expect the Rocket Launcher plugin code will need to be tweaked to support it. I need to get in touch with the Rocket Launcher guys about this and additional applications.

I'd love to hide all playlists of consoles in their own menus in BigBox BigBox show only Arcade / Computer / Consoles / Handheds / Playlists Then have sub folders of each of those and show respective platforms. This will be coming soon, hopefully in 7.9. Planning on tackling both nested filters and platform categories in Big Box for 7.9.

The UI for actually sorting them is kind of painful though. For example, I have an "IGN Top 100 SNES Games" playlist, and clicking the up and down arrows to move each item one position at a time would take forever. I ended up editing the XML by hand to just type in the manual order numbers, which is error prone (very easy to accidentally delete a bracket, for example). Perhaps that number should be editable in the UI? Also, it would be nice if the list auto scrolled to keep the selected item in view when move up/down was clicked. Move to top/bottom buttons might also be helpful. Once in BigBox, the manually sorted list works, but there's no way to tell what part of the list I'm looking at. It would be nice if the list index was exposed to themes - possibly also an indication of the playlist being manually sorted - so that it could be displayed to the user. Ideally I'd like to display something like "List Position: #26", but preferably only for things in a top list. Another minor thing is that there seems to be no way to use the manual order in List View inside LaunchBox. It appears to only apply to the Images View. Ah, good points. Thanks @prolecat. I can probably at least add move to top and move to bottom buttons to the playlist editor before release, but probably won't get all of this in. Still it would be nice to add all of this in eventually; if anyone wants to put in Bitbucket tickets for them, that'd be appreciated. How do I delete a playlist once it's created? I was going to just delete all of the games in one of the Arcade playlists, but was worried that it would also delete the games from my Arcade platform as well. To delete a playlist, select Playlists from the dropdown at the top of the left sidebar. Then right click on a playlist and Delete. I'd like to get this added to platforms and platform categories as well to make it easier to edit them from the sidebar.

I notice that some of my auto-generated playlists are empty or missing games. So I looked at the XML file to see what the ROM name is and looked for it in my MAME folder. The ROM is there. The next thing I did was go to the playlist and click "edit." You've included a tab that says "Games." When I look at that list, I think I understand why some games are missing. My platform is named "MAME." I did this for convenience with Rocket Launcher. The games that I'm missing are all in platform "ARCADE." I had thought using MAME or ARCADE didn't matter. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong? It should be locating them anyways, but perhaps not. I'll take a look at this.
Jason Carr
On 3/11/2017 at 5:12 PM, Levo_Stone said: I also named Arcade to MAME for the sake of Rocketlauncher and a lot of the playlists are empty or missing loads of games. I tried editing the playlist with notepad++ to change "Arcade" to "Mame" but it made no difference. I think the Playlists are a great feature so I would like to get them working.... The playlists cover every single possible game, and it's almost never expected for a collection to have every version of every MAME game, so missing games in the automatically added playlists is normal. For example, you probably only have one version of Pac-Man in your arcade collection, but all versions would be in the playlists. That said, I will be looking into the MAME platform name issue.
