fromlostdays
I'm not sure about now, but back in the day people had to compile versions of mame to support hi scores. It didn't work in the official mame buildSent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Lordmonkus
If the non UI version of Mame was being used I would say you needed to enable it in the plugin.ini, but since its a UI version I don't know where you do that at.
neil9000
Ah ok it looks like from there its in the plug in section, away from my pc at the moment but will check in a bit.

spycat
If you're using the regular MAME and you don't want to use a Notepad editor, you can just run MAME itself (not a game) and you will have access to a lot more settings such as the Plugins and Directories (ROMpaths etc). DOS76
Yeah that is true there are options built in to the standalone MAME UI. I have some setups where I have to set monitor indexes to get my vertical and horizontal games to their respective monitors so that requires getting into the .ini and making some changes also setting the BGFX shaders and a few others I've never seen any graphical settings for.
