Customize system banners?

This front-end is amazing but I would love to create customized banners for each system. Is this possible? Also, how about custom collections for roms?

You can create any image media you want for systems. Just need to make sure you name them correctly and file in the correct folders. I would spend a few minutes looking in the  \Images folders and you will see how LB likes things named and filed.

What do you mean by "custom collections for roms"? Do you mean Playlists?

I cannot find the location of the files used for the system banners. All I can see is box art, backgrounds, and logos for the games. Are the banners hidden files?

As far as collections, yes, something like playlists.

One last thing; is there a controller combo for returning to the front end from the emulators? Sorry if this stuff has been gone over in the past. I am new to this front end and I spent some time going through the forums looking for these answers. Thank you for your help.

In LaunchBox go to Tools > Manage Platforms, then select the platform you want the banner for and press edit. On the right hand side of that window that just opened you can add images to the platform, after adding click on the text above that gray square and you can tell LaunchBox what type of image you just added (though I believe banner is the default  image selected). That way you don't have to worry about the file being in the wrong location.

I’m not seeing a tools option anywhere in here. There is an options, but no tools. Is the android version different than the PC version? Also, there is no Platforms folder in my images folder inside of the LaunchBox directory. There are only image folders for the specific systems.

Unfortunately that currently won't allow you to set custom banners yet. This feature is a priority though, so it will be coming soon.

Any news about this?
I am trying to find the banner images location in the version 1.4 July the 6th 2022 for Android and I cant find the way...

You can, but you need to change them inside of LaunchBox by long pressing the banner you want to change, which will open the menu, and choose the Edit Media option.

Better than editing the xml files??

I have LB desktop set up with Cave as a Platform, you might have a hacks or translations set done in the same way.

For a custom Cave banner in LB Android, here's what i did....

1. Copied over all the folders from Export for Android structure from LB desktop, including the data folder. In my case it had data/platforms/cave.xml

2. In my case i then long press on the banner for the Cave 'system/platform', which is the Arcade banner by default, edit meta data and make sure 'scrape as' is set to your default system, in my case it's Arcade, but if you had Sega Genesis Hacks, you'd change to Sega Genesis.

3. Go into the games list view and make sure your emulators and cores are all set up and your games work. scrape for missing media if need be.

4. Back out to system/platforms view and long press again on banner. This time go into edit metadata and change scrape as to (none), save.

I went into edit metadata for the system banner and changed all naming to Cave but left scrape as, as (none)

Now, for me, the custom Cave banner shows up; and...if the system decides to scrape again or needs to re-find your roms it won't crash the app.

If you don't set up your emulators and cores before you change scrape as to (none), then you have to set it up as a custom emulator.

I didn't feel like figuring out if retroarch can be set up as a custom emulator.

have fun!
