This is the issue I pointed out a while back if your rom is zipped launchbox unzips to a /tmp directory. This breaks retroarchs ability to create console level overrides. Retroarch use the directory preceding the rom file as the console name. i.e. the console would be tmp and every console system that had zipped file would try to use the tmp overide file. Do you know when this new logic of the zipped rom being moved to the /tmp directory was added? I think this also broke compatibility with a specific plugin (ArchiveCacheManager), wanted to understand what was the previous behaviour and what changed Quote

I think this also broke compatibility with a specific plugin (ArchiveCacheManager), wanted to understand what was the previous behaviour and what changed I think the change went in just this release but IDK. Previously when launchbox unzipped files it did so to a /tmp/gamefile. This breaks a feature in retroarch to allow controller mapping based on platform because to retroarch the platform would be "tmp" The fix was to still use the tmp directory but it now copies the filename of the folder of where your gamefile is sitting to the tmp directory. So it would look like /tmp/sega/gamefile. Retroarch would see the "sega" and create an appropriate sega remapp file specific to that platform. If that plugin is using hard coded paths (bad coding style) then I could see it causing an issue. I would assume clearing out the "cache" would resolve the issue? But I would think \tmp should be considered temporary. Edited April 9 by xokia Quote

Jakatsu Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) Beta 1. When I'm manually adding a video to a game and using the arrow to move to the next entry to edit, LB adds two extra copies of the same video to the one previously edited. Doesn't happen when you just click ok. Edited Tuesday at 01:39 PM by Jakatsu Quote
Jabb3rJaw Posted April 12 Posted April 12 Just want to say I’m impressed with the huge improvement in response time on the wheel. Scrolling through games before was laggy and scrolling through letters to get to a game was terrible. I use to scroll to a letter but the games would show for a different letter like it never caught up to the actual letter I landed on. The wheel seems so much smoother! Thanks to whoever is making these big improvements! Also still no crashes!!!! 2 Quote
xokia Posted April 12 Posted April 12 (edited) Maybe an issue with loading .bat files I cant tell. Works perfectly from command line fails from launchbox and hangs at the loading screen. *edit* not a beta issue. Resolved in other thread Edited April 12 by xokia 1 Quote

We've seen this in the past, but seems very specific to a user's computer. Are you able to describe your setup. Your hard drives, where LaunchBox is located on that, etc. Anything about your hardware setup and pathing would be helpful. I doubt this has anything to do with the beta in particular, but I know it pops up for people sometimes and I'd love to figure out why. It would also help if you provide a screenshot of the full theme error(s) you are getting just to confirm we are on the same page. Last, if you haven't yet, do at least a restart of your computer to see if that helps in any way. Quote

I do have a new issue though when exiting the dolphin emulator from bigbox my wiimotes will not turn off. I tested this with just lauching dolphin and exiting and the wiimotes turn off. Why would bigbox hang up the wiimotes from turning off? Quote

Why would bigbox hang up the wiimotes from turning off? Not really sure. There's not anything in Big Box itself that would hang onto it. It's possible it has to do with how Dolphin is opening, or more likely how Dolphin is closing. You may want to take a closer look at how you are closing Dolphin when you open it from Big Box. Quote
faeran Posted Friday at 04:56 PM Author Posted Friday at 04:56 PM Hey all, Beta 2 is finally out! This one is pretty packed, with a lot of moving parts across major areas like RetroAchievements, Save Management, imports, and Big Box behavior. Because of how much has changed, there is a higher chance of edge cases or regressions, so we could really use as much testing coverage as possible. If you are not interested in testing or just want a stable experience, it may be best to hold off on this one for now, but for those jumping in, we really appreciate the extra eyes and feedback. ⚠️ As of Beta 2: For those who heavily utilized the save backup features in previous versions, please refer to this migration guide carefully before upgrading to this beta. There have been some structural changes that affect how saves are managed. This guide talks you though everything you need to know. ⚠️ https://feedback.launchbox.gg/help/articles/5615549-1327-save-management-migration-guide Here is what we could use help testing. Hedgecore024 Posted yesterday at 01:08 AM Posted yesterday at 01:08 AM I didn't get a chance to mess with the beta 1 much so not sure if this is a new issue, recurring, or maybe something on my end, but having issues navigating games, multi-selecting games, etc using arrow keys with certain themes via keyboard in LB. Usually run Omni theme, but couldn't navigate games of any platform with keyboard, or it would allow a couple moves down, and then nothing. I could navigate platform menu using all arrows, ie up/down to change, right to expand, etc. I turned off all controllers, and disabled controller mappings, but no change in behavior. Changed to Big Details theme, everything appears to be working. Changed to default theme, back to navigation issue. Changed back to Big Details, works again. Any such issues reported? Quote
