  1. But can I safely copy it over into my root without overwriting important files?
  2. I do a manual install, as an automatic doesn't work, it just saves me the new LB.exe into the updates folder and I have to run it myself. When I run it, and point it to E:\, it will automatically create a folder on E:\ called LaunchBox. There's no LaunchBox folder existing as LB is installed inside the root of E:
  3. So as it is I have my LB install on external, E:\Launchbox. When I install a new version, it installs it in the E:\ root but under a new folder called Launchbox. What I then do every time, is moving stuff from that folder to the actual folder, but always paying attention not to overwrite older stuff, which is then a lot of work. I was always concerned that I would otherwise overwrite some settings or xml files. My question now, is that the case or not? What does it overwrite exactly if I just move the whole folder as it is? Don't want to mess up obviously.
  4. Strange enough, that one didn't come up when I searched, but I didn't use "prior", just old or previous releases. Anyhow, I will stick to the no nag version, long time I completely forgot about that, and it's much nicer when launching a game and getting directly into the game, instead of clicking away several windows, especially in BB. Thanks for the post.
  5. EDIT: Actually I found a no nag version of 0.210, that one works fine. Topic can be closed or deleted. Thanks.

    MAMEUI gone?

I can't seem to find older mameui64 version, I need 0.210, tested my ROMs now with 0.223 but I get a LUA:error:41, "entries" field. Apparently that happens when trying using a newer release with an older set. Games run fine after you click away the pop up window though. Unfortunately I don't have a 0.210 version anywhere, and I googled like crazy, don't find one. On the official site there are only non UI versions available.
  7. I was adding letter S to C64, and with one game it get this illegal characters in path error. It's Split Second.d64 I tried different ROMs, different names, different paths. Every time the same error. Tried importing any other game, that worked. I can keep the game in my list, that works, but editing, f.ex. adding pictures doesn't work as it gives me the same error, cannot save the picture as there's illegal characters in path.
  8. I wanted to upload logos, but the minimum size required is 600x600, mine are not.
  9. Yeah, I donated 10€, and with that, I now got 6 threads for scraping instead of only one, is much faster.
  10. I just used it 2 days ago for around 15 systems, and it worked fine. Mainly used it to scrape images for my RG350M and the SimpleMenu frontend, you can chose the images you want, I use the user defined 3 in 1 images, they look quite nice, plus they get resized to the correct size for the RG350M screen.
  11. Either when importing you chose the option "combine games of the same name", then it will only give you one entry and by right clicking you can chose to run the version you want. Or once in LB, if you have all 3 of them displayed, select them, richt click, and chose "combine selected games".
  12. I meant that in the update it always said which ROMs were updated and which were set to from non-working to working, so from the new "complete" set, just copy it over to your MAME folder, as the name usually stays the same. For the newest added ones, you have to import them obviously, if not already existing in your set. Sorry if I explained that wrong.
  13. Or do like me, OCD here too. So I once went through a whole set, was actually v210, and played every single game there is. I only kept the games that I actually like, or the ones that are more "famous", left me with around 1.300 games. A lot of work, but definitely worth it, plus you can play ALL the games at least once. Now I only have to look out for the MAME update sets and see what has changed or has been added since the last set. Very easy. Just copy it to your existing folder, and add it to LB. Done.
  14. I have all of them under the Emulator section to keep it clean, besides MAME which resides in the LB root as standalone.
  15. Always perfecting collections, never ending story. Btw, I also have a favorite MAME set, you know the work behind it. Lol.
  16. Since over 1 year I’m creating my own favorite sets for everything I use in LB, as you know, that takes a lot of time, but on the other hand is also a lot of fun, I really enjoy doing it, well otherwise I probably wouldn’t. At the moment, for over 1 month already, I’m going through the C64 TOSEC set, that’s huge, and so far I made it to letter M. But again, loads of fun, C64 fan all the way, was my first computer, and very nice to discover games you didn’t even know they exist, although also a lot of real crap lol. Amiga is already done, that was great fun too. Next one on the list is the ZX and the X68000. Consoles and handhelds are mainly done. Missing only lesser known systems. But there’s still a lot left, and strangely enough I’m quite happy about it ?
  17. Oh my, that is SOOO true, I barely touch the games, just OCDing through me collections, one game after another, everything must be perfect, am I right? Got my RG350M yesterday, and again one project more, *sigh*
  18. Made me think, playing with that thought already for a bit longer. Intel has the new NUCs, coming out early in July, called Ghost Canyon (NUC 9 Extreme). https://simplynuc.com/ghost-canyon/ Advantage is that you can put a GPU inside, and you have the possibility to go up to an RTX 2070. I was in contact with SimplyNUC just now, and they will get back to me as I wanted to know which model of RTX 2070 they're installing, as they couldn't tell me in the chat. I think I will sell my Hades Canyon and get this one, would also work a lot better for PC gaming. Would be only for convenience, as I have a rather new gaming PC (a bit over 1 year old), but it's in another room, but I want one in my living room, next to my consoles, so that I can use it on my beamer (4K), and also be able to have the nice 5.1 sound. It has to be small though, as you know wives tend to not like too much of the electronic stuff to be visible, they'd rather put a new flower pot instead. But this would fit well, as the width is just slightly more than the Hades, it's only about double the height, but that still fits well, and the PSU is internal, the Hades has a quite big external PSU. Plus sitting or lying on the couch whilst playing is priceless.
  19. Is there none for both consoles? Still wanna play Forza on my One, although I have most racing games on my PS4.
  20. It is indeed just an executable, so dragging and dropping works, I tested, although there's no media at all in the database, which I understand. Like mentioned, I tried with the RA core but I don't see the point of running it through RA, as you can just run it as a Windows game, plus you're not only restricted to RPG Maker 2000/2003 games, but you can use games from any version. Problem is that there's quite many games available, so editing them all one by one takes loads of time. How to scrape them properly, that is probably quite difficult, as nothing really stands out, even the executable is named randomly.
  21. I'm also trying, scrapes as Windows. Tried the RA core, games are running 100x speed though. There should be an easier import for RPG Maker games, same like for Steam, GOG, UPlay... Just point it to your RPG Maker directory and it would scrape them as RPG Maker games. Should definitely be implemented, guess we're not the only ones.
