Launchbox Folder constantly returning to 'Read-Only'

We don't ever set that flag on a directory so isn't our app doing so. That being said I'm wondering if this isn't an issue with the symlink creation we do at the start. What file format is your drive formatted in? If you right click the drive in File Explorer and press properties on the window that opens there is a label called "File System". Does it say NTFS or something else? -

I have some questions for you to help with debugging this: 1) Are you using any plugins? 2) Are you using any third party scrapers like Skraper on your collection? 3) What version of LaunchBox are you using? 4) Have you noticed this happening after a specific event? (like saving a game, selecting it in Game Details, closing LB, etc) -
@Ultrafunktional seems like relative pathing is messing up in your build. This happens fairly often if you are running the application as administrator. LaunchBox should never be opened this way.

Those 3D Models you see are dynamically generated and aren't saved anywhere. There is no current way to save out the model render to an image to use a 3D Box image.

You can't. That is only filled in currently by emulator plugins that read the version from the emulator itself.

I don't have a category for platform variation. Outside of a few handhelds there wouldn't be a huge need (Game Boy/Color, Neo Geo Pocket/Color, etc). I just group mine by manufacturer. So Handhelds > Nintendo has GB, GBC, GBA, NDS, 3DS for example

I'd personally recommend you steer clear of trying to do that. We have other functionality in app to help you quickly jump to a letter and the playlist will just add a lot of frustrating bloat once you are comfortable with those features. Inside of LaunchBox you can select any item in the content list and then just press the letter you want to jump to and after a half second LB will jump to the first game with that starts with that letter (you can actually type a word and jump to that should you want. Typing M-A-R would take you to the first game starting with "Mar" for example). Inside of Big Box we have the index in every game view that also allows you to simply jump to a letter. Both would be faster than selecting the playlist, especially if you want to quickly change between letters.

I get pretty specific in my build. I use platform categories view and use the following hierarchy. - Platform Category (Console, Handheld, etc) - Platform Manufacturer (Sony, Nintendo, etc) - Platform - All Games - Favorites - Installed (Windows/MS-DOS only) - Genres - Sub Genre I've manually assigned Series, Franchise, Genre/Sub-genre to every game in my collection to be pretty specific in how my metadata is presented. I really enjoy how granular the LB system lets you get if you decide to go off the rails like I do. For those interested you can see view the data yourselves (and apply it to your collection with one of JoeVikings plugins) here

We don't typically support bought builds since we have no way of knowing that they did, if you paid for support through the person that sold you the cab I'd utilize it by reaching out to them and figuring out what they did and why. That being said Themes/Views can be set in multiple places. Best place would be the Themes Manager (found in System Menu) or the Options menu. You can also bind keys to "Change Theme" and "Change View" to change either the theme or the view in use within that theme. -

Typically the themes I've seen use these across various front ends tend to be Horizontal wheels. You could do it in Vertical as well, but typically without any curve to them. They look better to me personally when lined up. Typically you see them in horizontal where they can be larger and still actually show more games than traditional clear logos. In vertical they show less since you need to typically need to make them bigger to read and so their benefit diminishes. -

I mean you can use a bezel that only displays where the black bars are on your screen (assuming you don't stretch the image). So the statement is fairly false. You also had to install the bezels to have them in the first place. If you don't want the files on your computer wasting space you can delete the artwork folder in MAME or in RetroArch there is a "GameBezels" folder in the overlay folder you can delete. You can also just turn off "Overlays" in either emulator if you don't want to see them but don't want to mess around with the files.

Shouldn't need a trigger. Should be able to rotate everything by the same amount. Use RotAxis of 1,0,0 and an RotAngle of 90. Then it's a matter of putting the cam in the right position and pointing it correctly. Something like Pos of 0,6,0 and LookDir of 0,-1,0. Those numbers aren't verified but sound correct enough for you to see the effect.

FlowContext has a RotationAngle and RotationAxis property that determines how the individual items are rotated. LookDirection on the camera is how you change what direction the camera is looking while Position changes where it's at.

Because the app uses a MVVM approach to creating it's XAML (which allows for theming) even I can't use Visual Studio preview when developing UI for the application... It's one of the reasons Y2Guru's Community Theme Creator gained so much popularity. Allows you to more easily preview real time what you're doing. I will say when I create my themes I just use Visual Studio Code. Far more lightweight and since preview isn't a working thing you really only need a semi-competent text editor.

Those are typically referred to from what I've seen as "docklet" images. They are primary used/created for GameEx and PinballEx front ends. I know you can find some templates for that style on their forums. May be able to ask one of the users that create them for Pinball logo's if they can share the template so you can make your own. I'm not sure you'll find too many packs of images in that style already existing, but I admit I've never really sought them out so may be pleasantly surprised.

Pretty sure you'd have to manually alter the GameDetailsView.xaml file. Quick search looks like the height on line 158 does most of the driving of that height. There may be another place for a different layout.

They do show up if not installed. It's the path you're changing causing the issue. Badge (and most of the internal Steam logic in the app) is looking for the game's application path to start as "steam://rungameid/". I'm not entirely sure what "steam://subscriptioninstall/" does.

Duimon makes the bezels, the shader is made by HyperspaceMadness (HSM). But yeah, their work is pretty remarkable. It is SUPER taxing on a system though (compared to most), but what's the point of having a graphics card if you're not going to use it...
