  1. There's an option in Big Box Sound options to change "Attract Mode Navigation Sound Volume". That option affects the move up/down and select sounds that play while in Attract Mode.
  2. What games are you not seeing using the import? I believe the EA games may not appear.
  3. Locking thread at the request of @Saieno. Please use the new thread to report any issues.
  4. Correct. Big Box you can lock out several options (even skip the details window entirely). LaunchBox doesn't have that same functionality.
  5. There are two workarounds I'd suggest. 1. In Big Box enable the "Use All Controllers" option and see if the binding works correctly then 2. In Armory Crate you can change secondary action on any button to "Close Active Window". I've never used that binding but it sounds like it may be doing the same thing we are. Could bind it and just use that instead if it works.

    Game IDs

Yes the ID is a unique identifier created when the data model for that game is first created. This means that across builds the same ROM file will very likely have a different ID
  7. Windows OS scaling should affect the text size in the app. Short of that you'd have to manually set the text size in the view files of the theme you intend to use. Doing so MAY get the text cut off though depending on how the theme is put together and so may not be AS simple as changing the FontSize property.
  8. It's basically Windows beta version. It's an opt-in thing so if you've never heard of it there is a pretty solid bet you're not on it.
  9. Yeah, in the meantime you can try Skraper. I know several users in our community do without too many issues. Some of their default settings (namely the backup settings) can wreak havoc and break things, but they are pretty well documented on the forums.
  10. You don't have to grab anything, the application is packaged with the runtime and is loaded manually from disk on app startup by the operating system. The only thing you'd need to do to ensure that this runtime isn't the issue is to make sure your Windows OS is up-to-date. I'd disable insider builds however as they can be hit or miss and make troubleshooting pretty difficult.
  11. @Thornfist @nataliavegas You guys have the embedded controller setting enabled in Control Center (bottom left button located by the screen)? Also are you launching RetroArch, LaunchBox, or Big Box through Armory Crate or direct from windows desktop? I HAVE seen issues where once Armory crate takes focus the controller stops working on the Ally.
  12. I'd verify the emulator you're using. GameCube/Wii both should be running off of Dolphin which LaunchBox doesn't currently install for you. If you haven't grabbed this software and told LaunchBox to use it as the emulator you missed a pretty critical step for those systems. When grabbing it please use the standalone version and NOT the RetroArch core as the core has several known issues.
  13. @T-tot If you have the "Remember view per platform" setting set you simply go to the platform you want to change and use the "Change Theme" and "Change View" setting to change that platform to whatever theme/view combination you want to use. The change is saved to file and remembered for the next time you enter that platform.
  14. While in Platform View you can play a video based on the selected platform. You can also start the GameView with that video playing and then animate it out as a manual transition (believe CoverBox does this with a static element). You cannot however have a video play seamlessly while moving from platform to game view to my knowledge. I know there is logic in the video control to resume play if the next video requested is the same as the first, but I'm unsure that logic would leap between the two views. You can try, but I have a suspicion that it wouldn't work that way.
  15. Right now the database doesn't support multiple languages. We don't have any fields in place to say, "This text is in a specific language" which would need added. Then we'd need to change every web page we have to allow for the selection (and modification) of the field in the alternate languages, THEN we'd to change how the metadata file that we use to scrape games is created to include additional language information (which could raise bloat issues as that file is already HUGE) in a way that doesn't break older LB builds, and THEN once ALL of that is done we still have to modify the application to USE the new file moving forward. All of that is also completely ignoring the fact that users would have to supply translated metadata after those changes were made before you could even use all of that hard work. Not saying it'll never happen, but "is not so difficult" is about the biggest understatement imaginable and we have to plan accordingly before any major change like that can ever be developed. In the meantime I'd look into Skraper and see if their offering can help you out in your endeavors.
  16. New emulators tend to be pretty picky when it comes to what GPU you are using as well. Some emulators play better with Nvidia than AMD for example. I'm not sure if that emulator has that quirk or not but would be another thing to potentially look into.
  17. You may be able to ask around to see if some one can try to make a plugin that could do this. Plugin would have to make LaunchBox window "TopMost" until a game is launched, then make it TopMost again after it's closed. VERY janky and prone to failure so I really wouldn't suggest it, but could potentially work. That being said LB doesn't lock out any operations and so the kids could still potentially add/remove games, media, or metadata from your collection should they press the commands to do so.
  18. I can't think of a single delete operation in LaunchBox that doesn't ask for you to confirm the deletion so I'm not entirely sure where this post is coming from. What are you doing that you are seeing files being deleted?
  19. I'd check the emulators compatibility page, it sounds like that game may just not run on that emulator. Xbox emulation is still in VERY early stages and isn't near as stable as other platforms so issues SHOULD be expected.
  20. What LaunchBox version are you trying to run currently? Also what operating system are you using? The newest version is built using .NET 6.0, while a version that old is still on .NET Framework. The fact that THAT old of a version works fine would leave me to believe that one of the following is happening: There is a conflict in your set up with the new .NET runtime There is a conflict in your set up with your machine and the Direct X version installed (For max WPF performance you should be running 9+) Newer versions offload much more to the GPU than older versions (this is ESPECIALLY true in Big Box) and so the move to your GPU could be causing more stress which could lead to throttling (check your temps while running) Several third party graphics apps like Nvidia GeForce and AMD control center have per app settings that can be set. We've seen some issues with any of those that try to force Anti-Aliasing. If you are using an app like that turn it to either on or off and not a setting that lets it automatically choose. This mostly affects Intel graphics but we've seen some issue with some AMD cards in the past
  21. I'm not real sure what to call the buttons on the device but if you press the one this image points to in the tray that opens up the icon (that by default) is in the middle of the top most row it will change you control mode for ALL applications. Make sure this is set to "Gamepad" and not "Keyboard" or "Auto"
  22. I fully admit I am no system admin and tend to run for the hills when it comes to any system maintenance or OS setting questions. I personally have never seen that on any PC I've ever own and would hate to even guess is causing that and whether that is intended behavior or not.
  23. Just wanted to make everyone aware that the RetroAchievements API we use to gather a games achievement data as well as your achievement progress is down and under extended maintenance in an effort to fix some of the stability issues they've had lately. The following was posted by the RetroAchievements team via their Discord: We realize this is a major inconvenience but at the moment any solution or path forward is out of our hands. We ask that no one brigade or harass the team at RetroAchievements about when to expect the API to come up again. They are already under immense level of stress just trying to get this all corrected and interrupting them helps no one. We'll monitor the situation and do our best to keep you informed as best as we can.
