  1. I'll review this eventually, yes. I'm guessing this is because the Fire Stick uses an ancient version of Android, but hopefully I can find a workaround.
  2. Just clarifying here that 10.10-beta-1 (which I just put out) should fix any and all performance issues as compared to the old default theme.
  3. 10.10-beta-1 is out now with the following: New Feature: Background blurring can now be fine tuned to any amount (or easily turned off) under Tools > Options > Visuals > Backgrounds. Background blurring options are also now available for all themes, including the old default theme. Improvement: Performance for the new default theme is now on par with the old default theme. We're using a completely new method to blur the backgrounds, since the old method was causing performance degradation. Improvement: Box shadows for the new default theme can be disabled under Tools > Options > Visuals > Boxes in order to improve performance on lowend systems Improvement: Numbers sections of titles will now be sorted numerically by default, instead of alphabetically. For example, the new logic will sort 1, 2, and 11 as 1, 2, 11 instead of the 1, 11, 2 order that was used previously. Fixed: In Big Box, the retro achievements game details web view can now be zoomed in and out with the proper bindings We've also added the manifest to supposedly support long path names, but we haven't been able to test and confirm that it's working. If anyone can confirm either way on this, please let us know.
  4. We're working on a bunch of things at the moment, including editing games. I don't have a time frame to report, but those types of features are definitely on the way.
  5. Happy to give you a refund then. Just email us at support@unbrokensoftware.com with your order ID from the Play Store.
  6. This does make sense. Media is used so heavily in LaunchBox/Big Box that generally it's not recommended to put any media in a network location, as it's cause for performance issues (and potentially stability issues as well). ROMs do work fine over the network, but media is not recommended. That said, if you would, please create a BitBucket ticket for this, and we'll address it when we can, based on feedback. Thanks!
  7. Most often issues like this are caused by faulty video drivers, but it's hard to pinpoint. The pause screens use Windows APIs and methods that are not commonly used, because they have to, just by nature. That's one of the reasons why we held off on implementing them for so long, because they require semi-hacks by nature and can't be implemented any other way. So generally, unfortunately there's not a whole lot we can do to fix one-off issues on certain machines like that. Most likely it is a video driver issue, but it's going to be impossible for us to look into it without having your specific hardware, unfortunately.
  8. @cliffyb73 This feature is coming, but isn't available quite yet.
  9. Happy to get you a refund if you'd prefer @rpw88. Obviously more features are coming, as it's being actively developed. But for $5, you can't expect every single feature that's available in the $20 desktop version to be in the Android version.
  10. I believe it is possible, even when Windows 10 runs a proper shutdown process, for it to kill apps after a certain period of time instead of letting them close properly (especially if you hit the restart anyways button). So generally, it's not recommended to do that.
  11. Yes, the blurred background functionality is cause for more GPU usage. I do have longer-term plans to reduce it further by manually blurring the images instead of blurring them via WPF.
  12. FYI, I also just updated the New Default Performance theme downloads with options for no shadows, no blurred backgrounds, or both:
  13. While we're never going to have 100% coverage, coverage is very good with the LaunchBox Games Database. I would encourage folks to add any missing games to the LaunchBox Games Database site on the web.
  14. Per the Wikipedia search, we may be removing it here soon as it hasn't been recommended for ages and generally the LaunchBox Games Database provides better results anyways. If anyone has a good reason that they want us to keep it around, please let me know.
  15. Thanks for reporting this. At this point we may choose to remove the Wikipedia search altogether, as it hasn't been recommended for a very long time, and the LaunchBox Games Database almost always has better data these days. If you have a good reason for us to keep it around, please let me know.
  16. Slight change of plans, just put out 10.9 with some significant built-in performance improvements.
  17. So I've finally figured out the issues with the slow downs. I tested the old theme on 10 year old systems, and never had any performance issues with it, but they were all desktop computers with at least decent graphics cards. I'm noticing that on my laptop, which is 4K but does not have all that great of a video card, it's way more clunky than I've ever seen before. So it's obviously graphics-card or video memory related. Furthermore, I've determined that the shadows on the boxes and the background blurring are causing the slowdowns. I'm a bit in disbelief that WPF would be optimized so poorly, especially with static blurred backgrounds, so my apologies that I didn't realize this sooner. For now, I'm going to update the New Default Performance theme to disable the blurred backgrounds as well, which should bring the theme mostly up to the performance of the old default theme. Ultimately though, I'd like to improve the performance without resorting to removing those features, so I'm going to see if I can't make it happen another way.
  18. Edits should not be reverting back to the top (they don't in my testing at least). Deletes are currently though. I don't see it as much of an issues for deletions, but I can see how it would be jarring for edits. Can you guys confirm that edits are sending you to the top of the list? I can't seem to replicate that.
  19. It's certainly odd for an XML file to be detected as a virus. I've never seen that before. I suppose it's possible that something else on your system is infecting XML files, or something weird like that. Most likely though, it's some kind of a false positive, but it's hard to say without more information.
  20. There's not a Playlists category by default, but you can easily add one. Just add a new platform category and check the Root box. Or edit it if you currently have one.
  21. I'm not fully following. What does your Playlist category look like on that screen? Do you still have one?
  22. Generally, renewals will renew the license to one year from the expiration date. Email us at support@unbrokensoftware.com though and we can get you a whole year if you purchase.
