  1. Gotcha, thanks @kmoney. Still gonna proceed with the release; looks like it's just an odd random thing that happens if it tries to switch music tracks or something while you click the Big Box button. It's on my list though to fix for the first 7.7 beta.
  2. It depends on the view. Some views are hardcoded to use a particular image type, while others can be switched up with the Switch Image Type key or button. I'm going to go ahead with the official release here shortly, even though we still haven't figured out @DOS76's issue. We'll get back to that soon. Scream at me if anyone notices any issues with the 7.6-beta-3! It'll take me a bit yet to get the release put out.
  3. If you uncheck the box to "Search for game information from the LaunchBox Games Database" in the import wizard, then it won't attach an ID. However, I just tested the Download Metadata and Media wizard, and it should attach an ID to those games if you check that box.
  4. @ckp Let's keep this conversation over in the other thread; I just responded there. I'm understanding more now of what's going on:
  5. Hahahaha. Poor @keltoigael. I whined that I liked the old one @Zombeaver.
  6. AH! I get it. Thanks for the detailed explanation, @ckp. So what happened here, is that in the import wizard you told it to not bother getting metadata from the LaunchBox Games Database, so it didn't bother to attach any IDs. You don't have to download any images from the database, but you still need to get metadata from it in order to attach IDs. Unfortunately I think you'll need to start over to fix the issue; just delete the ROMs and reimport. However, I don't really understand why that would affect the images that are displayed for the games.
  7. I haven't been able to replicate it either. Do the different machines have separate collections or are they the same synced collection?
  8. So it's having an issue searching for and matching games in bulk mode. I'm wondering if maybe it's a culture issue since everything is working fine in my testing. Where are you located, @ckp?
  9. @ckp Let's start with the not downloading images issue. Do you have EmuMovies? Is it a paid account?
  10. @DOS76 @ckp What games are you seeing that issue on? I just need some examples.
  11. Nope. Unrelated. Will be looking into that though.
  12. I'm in the process of testing this, but maybe you can clear some things up @DOS76. Two clear logos are typically downloaded if one of them comes from EmuMovies, and the other comes from the LBGDB, and you select to download both. Have you checked where the files are located in your image folders? Do you really end up with a clear logo image in a box front folder?
  13. New beta is out guys; this may possibly address the issues that some people have been seeing with Demul and CCS64. If anyone can test, I'd appreciate it. Also the following: - Improvement: CriticalCid has updated his amazing CriticalZone theme (included with Big Box) for better performance and two new games views! - Improvement: Viking's 16x9 platform videos are now available to download using Tools > Download Platform Theme Videos in LaunchBox - Improvement: Additional platform theme videos from Nyny77 and Viking are available to download using Tools > Download Platform Theme Videos - Improvement: For platforms that are configured to use MAME files by default, the importers will now revert back to regular files if no MAME-style names are found Planning on putting out the 7.6 official release later today. However, I'm going to look into @DOS76 and @ckp's issue above in the mean time.
  14. So cool @Lmagnus87! I totally remember some of those emulators too. The funny thing is some of them did emulation better than modern ones.
  15. Exactly. It's just the random, internal game ID that LaunchBox uses, so it will have very little use for most people. The only reason it was implemented is because it was requested on the live stream and literally only took two minutes to add.
  16. This variable can be used in the emulator command line to pass the game's ID; it came up in the live stream and I went ahead and implemented it because it was a 2 minute job. Unfortunately AHK variables would be a separate thing.
  17. Hahaha. Great to hear @Immortal Chortle. Speak up and scream at me if any new beta messes it up. I did fix some related stuff in the last couple betas.
  18. Forums are now moved over to the new server guys. You may need to wait for the DNS to update though (but it's already updated for me). It literally seems to be like three times faster on the new server here, so I'm pretty happy.
  19. Hi @Bardock; looking to fix those strings. As far as the image types, we've not been translating those because they're associated with non-translated folders in the file system, and the games database (which I know isn't ideal but that's where we're at currently). Per Tools > Edit Default DOSBox Configuration, what are you seeing that's untranslated? Both the menu item and the dialog that comes up seem to be properly translated for me. Same for Tools > Options > Images. Are these issues fixed for you in beta 2?
  20. Thank you Maddoc. Did you test with a controller? The issues seem to be specific to game controllers.
  21. Also, one thing that would be helpful @Zombeaver is if you could test with a previous version of LaunchBox to see if it was caused by a recent change (that would rule out the emulator). Message me if you need an old version to download. It would probably be best to test with 7.4.
  22. Hi @DjMcFilthy, we have heard this from a few people recently, and we're looking into it. @DOS76 can you help with this? @Zombeaver has also stated that he's had this problem with both Demul and CCS64. I'm unclear whether this issue was caused by changes in the emulators, or changes in the latest versions of LaunchBox/Big Box. It apparently is working fine for @DOS76, however, so we need to discuss and see if we can get to the root of the issue. Thanks all!
  23. Sorry for the forums issues guys; I am in the process of moving the forums over to the new server (it's the last piece to move). I think I might be causing some temporary issues. Also, we might have to put the forums in read-only mode for a few hours once we're ready to do the actual move (I'm thinking tomorrow morning might be a good time to do this).
  24. Hi @dannyg86, no problem on not getting back to me; sorry to hear you're still going through health issues. These issues are all on my list, but unfortunately they're not very high priority. I have been working on primarily bug fixes, performance improvements, etc. for the last couple of weeks already. Per #1, having just a few games in a platform isn't really that common, and we haven't gotten many complaints on it, so I haven't focused on it. I agree that it's not ideal though. Per #2, I did significantly improve this recently; not sure if you're on the latest beta, but it should be much better with loading the images efficiently. I am curious to know if the latest beta improves things for you. #3 I have not been able to reproduce, but I sure would love to figure it out and get it fixed. Any details on this would appreciated. #4 is mostly the fault of the EmuMovies API, so there's only so much I can do. It is helpful to report specific issues to them (specific things not found) so they can go through and fix it in their database. Thanks Danny.
  25. Wow, that looks really awesome @keltoigael!
