  1. Yeah, true, makes sense. Alright, I'll bump it up a notch or two. ;)
  2. Okay, cool. That's good, because I was looking into it and it wasn't turning out to be as easy as I had thought, anyways. I did a lot of code restructuring to fix things up that I would have to undo, as it turns out. So that's a relief. ;)
  3. Hi Kriven, that is definitely a good idea, I'll add it to my list. It will be pretty far down the list, though, unfortunately, since most people don't use Steam banners for all their games.
  4. Sounds good guys. So here's the deal...this isn't an official beta release, or really an official release of any kind, so please don't use it for your real collection. Just download this EXE, put it in a new, empty folder, and run it. It should come up with a brand new LaunchBox instance. Run the wizard to import your Windows games, up to the point where it lists all the games that it will import. At that point, you should have a new "ImportLog.txt" file in the same folder where you put the EXE (where you ran it from). Upload that ImportLog.txt file here, and hopefully that will make it easy to see what's going on. It'll be really, really long, so we'll want to upload it instead of just pasting the contents here. Hopefully this'll help us get it fixed. Thanks guys. :) https://www.dropbox.com/s/luy33ik26kz68ef/LaunchBoxTroubleshootingBuild.exe?dl=0
  5. Yup, I do have both of those on my list. I hadn't planned on the Steam import identifying installed and not-installed games, mostly because I don't have a good and proper way of determining it. As Brad stated, the old method is too flawed to be used effectively for that, unfortunately, especially in the case of uninstalling games. New features for the Steam import are things like importing in the background, choosing which images you want, etc.
  6. Hehehehehe, remember guys, I can be bribed. ;)
  7. Very cool, bd. I'm in a similar boat. I do dread it sometimes, always having to play Mario when I could be playing GTA V, but I do enjoy that my kids *love* to play videogames with me.
  8. Yeah, indeed, that would be pretty neat. Added to my ideas list. ;)
  9. Hahahaha, welcome OldRetard, sir. ;) So, hmm. How did you run through the installer wizard? Did you mount the ISO in Windows first? Or did you directly refer to the ISO file itself in the wizard? The proper way to do it would be to choose "No, I have the installation files or media", then "inside a CD image ISO", then browse for your ISO file, select the destination folder, choose "Yes, automatically mount the CD", and "Yes, copy to the destination folder" and then proceed with the install. Let me know if that's what you already did or if that fixes it for you.
  10. Ugh, that sucks, John. Congrats on your Fusion though. I'm gonna work on a debug version here in a few minutes that I'll upload here and everyone can try. It should be up in less than an hour.
  11. Hehehehe, no problem.
  12. Sure, yup. Steam simply prompts you to install the game if you don't have it installed, when you try and start it through LaunchBox. Still, I don't see any issue with re-enabling the old importer. I'd just put a little tiny link on the wizard to take you there if you'd prefer (though I don't see putting any more work into it, so it won't support any of the new features).
  13. Hahahaha, it's actually *only* 1,000. ;) https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/rankinfo Nobody's a 64-bit Supercomputer yet at 500...
  14. I should see if I can link out to this. Once I get the sidebar customized, should add a bunch of optional features to include, like a link here.
  15. Yes, just hasn't been priority. I should be adding "platform management" soon (probably for the next version), so it makes sense to include it as part of that feature set. The new platform management will also include the much-requested platform backgrounds.
  16. Sure, I changed it to allow uploading batch files, so that might be the best approach going forward.
  17. Thanks, bd. I'm just reminded of #1. #2 is definitely planned. #3 is changeable via the Theme's Foreground color.
  18. Hi bd, okay, I'll bring the old importer back as well (didn't realize there were compelling reasons to keep it around). Hopefully I can have a beta out soon.
  19. That's exactly what I don't understand. And why would it work fine for me, but not for you guys? That's why I need your help troubleshooting it.
  20. Let's try and work through this one guys, try and figure it out. I'm still getting plenty of results on my machines, so I don't understand what the problem is. If anyone is open to using join.me to have a screen sharing session so I can try and see what's going on, that'd be great. Let me know. Just to clear some things up, LaunchBox checks two different spots for games. It looks in your Start menu for games, basically by comparing all of your Start menu shortcuts against the LocalDB to try and find games. Then it looks in what is called the Windows Games Explorer using the registry; and just assumes that everything found in there is an actual game. It also checks to make sure files exist and such, of course. We could be running into permissions issues, I suppose, but I would have expected that to error out instead of just not return anything. I think I'll probably put out a debug version that spits out a bunch of debug messages to help troubleshoot this.
  21. Hippyshake said Cool links, Stimpy! That blog might be cool, too, if it had a lot more material. Lol.
  22. Sure, makes sense Martin. We might be able to kill two birds with one stone once we add proper video support to games.
  23. So weird. I'm still getting results. I've heard this several times though, so it's obviously a real issue. New installs for me give me pretty much everything. So, hrm. I might have to put out a debug version or something.
