  1. Possible, most certainly, but doable? Development of stuff like this, that hooks in to various different emulators and programs is a cool feature, but actually very hard to do and maintain. I believe there is also a BitBucket feature request for something like this too. Also, most emulators are not the same when it comes to the buttons they use, and if RA is the main emulator you'd like to use something like this with, then that function does exist for RA. I always dislike giving answers like this, but I don't want to just blindly tell you yes and have you or anyone else expect something like this pop up soon. Jason wants to do it all and create it all, every request is special for us, but something like this is hard to do. What all would you expect from something like this? Just what you've listed? I also apologize if that response is a downer response, but I don't want to lie to anyone about the the possibility of something.
  2. If games are not importing, then more than likely LaunchBox assumes you're adding duplicates. If you deleted a platform, but didn't let LB remove the games, they're still there but with no platform. To be honest, and I don't ever usually say this, but your LB install might be really confused at this point where it might be easier to start from scratch on certain aspects. Open your LaunchBox/Data folder and create a backup (Just use Copy and Paste in the same directory) of the Platforms folder, the Platform.xml and Emulators.xml. There should be 3 extra files that say " - Copy" at the end of them now. Close down LaunchBox and delete these 3 files. When you boot back up, all your game entries and Emulator entries should be gone. Re-import a set of games, but do not download any images or media for them. Refresh the image cache by going to Tools -> Refresh Images, and the images for that platform that you downloaded previously should be popping in.
  3. Does the video keep playing in the background if you launch a game using the WMP playback engine? I had to instruct someone to switch to VLC. It always seems to be a battle of pros and cons for each of them.
  4. Hopefully Jason can get this sorted out before too long.
  5. They're not labeled properly, but they do exist in the updates folder. However, instead of going back, do me a favor and go to the latest beta. You enable it in LaunchBox, then restart and it will ask you to update.
  6. Most of this can be done with Custom Filters mind you. Of course there is certainly more functionality that Jason can add in this department, but a good portion of what you two want can be done there.
  7. Go to Tools -> Manage emulators, and edit your SNES emu. Go to the AHK tab and clear out the script if there is one. If there isn't one, then I am more confused.
  8. I suspect that the AutoHotKey script has something to do with it, as it uses an alternate more powerful method. I actually don't have a fix unless there is an alternate AHK script to use. I've been using RetroArch for so long I am also not completely sure. I know the AHK is more powerful to make sure it catches a wide variety of programs, and I never realized it could really conflict like this. This is the only function in LB I can think of that could mess with it though.
  9. Those are various 32x BIOS that you don't really need. To save a ton of time look for RetroArch BIOS specifically.
  10. You can have LaunchBox on any drive you want and your games on any drive you want. The roms never need to be inside of your LaunchBox install if you don't want them to be. During import, I always choose the last option which is to never move them. Depending on the size of your library though, your LaunchBox install can get big if you download every bit of media (I'm currently at 101GB), so you may want to put LaunchBox on your F drive now, as moving later may cause a few more headaches than it should. The choice is up to you though.
  11. Ooh, I didn't know this existed. Thanks @Charco and @DOS76.
  12. If you find Euro, US and Japanaese marked BIOS you can just rename them to what RetroArch is looking for, and it does need to be case sensitive as well. There is really no standard, unless you count RetroArch's naming scheme as the standard, so it can be very confusing when there are tons of other sites calling them what ever they want.
  13. Image Priorities is Premium Only. I also forgot about that section for Background. I thought about it at first, then told myself no. >.>
  14. What the actual hell. o,O wow. You must have added a lot more since last I knew. Also, my install is 101GB, so nevermind, I don't know why that number threw me for a loop. It is smaller now than it was a few days ago, by a decent amount. I was able to remove a lot of duplicate images (and on some games that is a lot), because of the Disc/Disk merging.
  15. Well if it exists in LaunchBox, it's all there in the UI. Nothing is hidden except that some features require Premium. Otherwise, if it doesn't exist then it would need to get added in to the software. The coder and owner is Jason; we get requests on our BitBucket page that get voted on and weighed against tons of other factors and then Jason implements them. We rely on user feedback, suggestions and requests, that's how we evolve. LaunchBox now vs LaunchBox 3 years ago is night and day and that's because users like you request certain features.
  16. Of 250GB, LB was most of it? The LaunchBox install it's self was that large or does this also include rom files?
  17. Or, download the first pack I linked to. It's from our download section and has quite a lot of them that users compiled up. The second two are just style differences.
  18. If the emulators are not launching properly, then the games must be assigned to the wrong emulator, and if they're not launching at all then the emulator paths could be off like @Vlansix says. Click on a dreamcast game, then Ctrl + A to highlight everything. Right click -> Edit to bring up the bulk edit wizard. Select emulator and choose an emulator from the list. This will change the emulator all of these games are using. Also, yes, settings and metadata are no longer kept in the LaunchBox.xml, but rather inside of the Data folder, broken up in to separate XML's. This can help performance, debugging a ton. There should never be a need to edit the XML's unless a file path is changed, as in your Roms are on D:/ and you move them to E:/. Unless all of your stuff is all on the same drive with LaunchBox, in which case it uses relative paths and not absolute paths. If it uses a Relative path then it would change from something like "../Emulators/" to "D:/Emulators/". The easiest way to edit the paths within the XML's is Notepad++ with the find and replace all function. However, you should only need to do this if you moving your games changed their paths and they no longer launch. An alternative if you'd rather not edit XML's is to remove the games from LaunchBox (Click, Ctrl+A then delete). Just make sure to not delete the rom files if you have that option selected (if it is, you'll get two dialogues during deleting, make sure to click Yes then No). Once you've removed your games from within LB, re-import them but select to not download any media like images, music, manuals or video. The import process will be extremely quick. Once you've done that, refresh the Image Cache by going to Tools -> Refresh Images and all of your old images should start to pop in. I'll be honest and say I have no clue how you got your Dreamcast games to start loading PCSXR, unless you were trying to edit the old XML and updated to the new structure? But Bulk Edit should fix your games if they're on the same path. If they're not, re-importing or Notepad++ will be the quickest method to fixing it. Also, sorry that I missed your replies to this, I simply missed them. X_X
  19. The easier the better! Thanks for taking a look at it, something like this is really awesome.

  22. Name: Arcade Part 2: Sega Model 3 [Supermodel] LaunchBox Tutorial Category: Tutorials Date Added: 2016-10-17 Submitter: SentaiBrad Today's tutorial has to do with an Arcade system called the Sega Model 3 and it's very specific games. MAME runs a lot of systems very well, but every so often a specialized and specific emulator is needed for a specific set of games, and that's where we find our selves today. I believe there is a lot of confusion about the arcade systems in that they confuse a lot of people, and they are indeed confusing, but a lot of that can be gotten rid of once you realize that any other Arcade / MAME type system is dealt with the same way, pretty much every single time. If this tutorial helped you out, please give us a subscribe to get notified of future videos and thumbs up this video so that users can find this helpful tutorial as well.
