This tutorial, like the week before it, is also confusing, so if you have any questions please feel free to leave them on that video. This weeks top stories are about the new and free Brick Breaking game for Game Boy called Retroid, which is a ton of fun to play if you are in to those sorts of games. I also cover the awesome Raspberry Pi Zero build that puts a Pi Zero in to an NES cart called Pi Cart. A 3D Fan made Sonic game looks to have the chops to be better than most of Sega's 3D Sonic games, and it comes built with a 3D Sonic engine so you too can make your own 3D Sonic fan games. This week's month in gaming game is all about the Secret of Mana RPG for the Super Nintendo by Square. Name: Retro Style Spotlight - 9-27-16 - Thousand Year Door+, Adventures of SMB3, Nintendo Game Counselor Category: News and Entertainment Date Added: 2016-10-17 Submitter: SentaiBrad Today's Retro Style Spotlight showcases last weeks NEC PC-98 tutorial for the Japanese computer. It's a bit complicated, so if you need any help, don't hesitate to comment on that video. The top stories today is centered around the first fully featured Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door hack, adding on to the name Plus, to denote there is now more to it. The corny and probably nostalgic The Adventures of Super Mario Bros 3 is now available for purchase through Steam in all of it's late 80's glory. Metal Jesus Rocks has also uncovered a Nintendo Game Counselors Guide and shows it off in a video over on his channel. The book looks incredible and it's a peak behind the Nintendo curtain. This weeks month in gaming game is all about Super Mario 64, the Nintendo 64 launch game that revolutionized 3D Platforming as we know it today. 3. Sweet! Thanks for the add-on, that's really awesome. Now here's to hoping for a Firefox version.
  4. You're welcome! If you have any more questions feel free to ask.
  5. You're welcome! Thank the users who uploaded them too.
  6. I assume you mean you watched the tutorial I made? If so, remember where I taught users about -res and -fullscreen when you were adding the emulator? Go to Tools -> Manage Emulators and open up Supermodel. You can add "-input-system=xinput" to the same location. What ever is in your default command line parameters box, press space then paste the command there.
  7. There is no way to import or export metadata currently, but this has been requested in the past. Jason also wants to create a feature that lets users upload metadata and images that they've put in to LaunchBox that is not on the LBGDB. The XML files in the Data folder is where everything is held.
  8. Personally, every few versions I just download a new MAME rom and chd pack. It's a PITA, but... every 5 or so months isn't bad to re-do it.
  9. It's supposed to add multi discs to the right click dialogue now. Where you see Disc 1, the rest of the discs should follow. I was getting that null error too, and told Jason about it, but I didn't know where it was coming from. Multi-disc games are handled now in LaunchBox, but this is an odd bug.
  10. You are welcome. Thank you very much for the kind words, I appreciate it. I'm also glad that you figured it out.
  11. Personally I can read the names, but it is a big deal if you are having a hard time with it because it only maters what you can read and have to deal with. I also did test the custom image, but I apparently clicked on 3 games with no fanart for the back. So, if there are things that you think should be implemented, you are more than welcome to request them on the BitBucket page. Past that, there are a few things you can do to make it a bit easier as is. The fade slider in the first screenshot will help a bit and darken the background. With LaunchBox Premium you can also edit a few extra settings, like font size, font type, and that could also help in making it more readable for you.
  12. I am confused. What do you mean "clear entries"? If you delete a game it's deleted from within LB (unless you check the option to also delete the files, and select yes to also delete the files every time you remove an entry). You can also edit the XML files, though there aren't many reasons for a user to edit them, but they are kept in the Data folder. We have an installer, but LaunchBox is completely portable and can be moved freely from PC to PC, the installer is just formal looking.
  13. I forwarded this to Jason, so he'll be able to answer or ask more direct questions because I don't know if something has changed or not changed recently.
  14. Ah, I don't know. I would assume there isn't, but you never know. @Jason Carr Will have to answer that for you.
  15. Huh, that shouldn't be happening. I'll forward this to Jason, maybe he knows whats up; this could have been fixed already and I didn't see that mentioned or this is new (again). Out of curiosity, what video playback engine are you using? Try changing it to the other engine in the BigBox settings to see if that makes a difference.
  16. Huh? I don't mind answering questions, but I am confused as to what question I'm answering.
  17. We don't utilize ini's or cfg's, but rather XML's, and everything that is an option is presented within the GUI (there is only 1 case that opening up the XML is useful and it has to do with file pathing). I just tested using a custom image, and the image I selected within the LB options didn't change when I started clicking on games. If it is indeed not working, and this request does not already exist in the BitBucket, then you are more than welcome to request added functionality by clicking Issues/Requests at the top of the forums. You may also try adjusting the fade slider on that same options menu as well to help out.
  18. You can just copy the LaunchBox folder to a different PC if needed, as long as the paths are still the same. If you are using absolute paths, the easiest method is re-importing games and downloading no media. Media should be using relative paths, so it doesn't matter what drive they are on. Relative paths look like this "../LaunchBox/../". If users were to move stuff to a new drive, I would tell them to use Notepad++ to change the driver letter in the LaunchBox.xml, but as we no longer use that (It's split up in the Data folder), it's a tad harder. It's still easy to open them up and change the paths to the games. One user told me he was able to open them all up in Notepad++ (it uses tabs) and they were able to replace all in every xml that was open. If the data folder did not get moved over, then this process is broken. So it's easily fixed with a few methods, and as long as everything you had in LaunchBox (roms and emulators) we're on the same drive, then it uses Relative paths and you should just be able to move everything to a new drive or PC and have it work right away. If you need help in figuring out what, or need some deeper explanations on the methods then just let me know.
  19. Under the default background section in the options, choose "Use Custom Image" instead. That should get your desired results.
  20. Well, as long as things are kept at default, LaunchBox has a GUI for editing the DosBox.conf. Functionally, we already do what Dfend does. I randomly came up with a reason why someone would, then realized it was a very bad example actually. I also prefer to use DosBox Daum (DosBox-x isn't working in a LB setup), so I manually edit the DosBox.conf files as is or keep a master file and really only change things when I need to.
  21. Yes, that is how it works. Either the rom name needs to be the proper name for the game, or you need to edit the game in LaunchBox after you import it. If you import a game in to LaunchBox and you change the name of the rom file, you need to edit the game and change the "Rom File" field that shows the full path to the game. This is what it should look like, but the path will be different for you: If you haven't watched the tutorials yet either, you can view them all on our YouTube channel.
  22. Bsnes Balanced is considered to be 100% with a slightly lower PC requirement, and Accuracy is just a slightly better extension of that if you have the hardware to run that core (a decent 3Ghz CPU). I agree with Monkus though, why not run everything through RetroArch?
  23. I totally missed that you mentioned BigBox, I am so sorry. X_X So there are different views that you can swap to and different themes available for users to download from the site if you want to customize BigBox on a level that requires things to be severely changed. As for hiding Box Art in BigBox, no that option doesn't exactly exist, but I believe it doesn't exist because most people leave them on. I think you might be one of the first people to want to turn it off. You can change the Image Type from Box Art to Clear Logo and that might help a bit and bring down the amount of noise on the screen at once, but I think your best bet would be a different built in BigBox view, to change the theme to one that someones already created, or to create the theme and share it with everyone on the site. If you would like to request features be added though, you are still more than welcome to do so, but I do believe the point was to hopefully get themes and views going for users who want that extra level of customization.
