As patient as we're being, we're simply not the Kodi forums and it's really hard for us to troubleshoot these functions. So I'm gonna lock this thread and ask that any users with these questions go to the Kodi forums or related communities.

Yea, I would suggest using standalone MAME too in the long run.
-
Replace UME with MAME with no year. Any MAME with a year and any UME are very out of date.
-
Have you refreshed the cache in the Big Box options menu?
-
Then you're good.

What? Ok... Xenosaga IS 3 discs, it wasn't cut up at all... Also yea, there are a ton of good games on Saturn.

I know the UI changes significantly, but I don't know. Checking out their wiki would be best.

You need to edit the platform in Tools -> Manage Platforms, and tell LaunchBox where your games are. The game field needs the path to your games. By default LaunchBox doesn't assume where this is for various reasons, so it must be told where. This feature also has it's limitations. If you have a system where each game has multiple files, or save files are stored in with your roms (can happen with NES), then those will get imported on accident. Edit: You also didn't need to re-import anything. Again, you can edit a single game and attach it to a Database ID manually.

Very helpful with normal issues. They're not kind to people asking for help with those plugins though, and you wont get any help.

Oh sweet.

I haven't done it often on Android, but I would assume it is done through the Google Play, or you find the apk's online and sideload them if your device doesn't have Google Play.

From what I've been told by people, Hyperspin is much much worse to get up and running. I say that cause I haven't used it, but I know how easy LB is, and people keep telling me how much hell HS is in that regard, so I could only imagine how much worse it'd be. Saturn has a ton of great games too. There are plenty of YouTubers I could point to that do videos or hidden gem videos. Wood did one recently on our channel, MetalJesusRocks has done various Saturn videos, etc. There's lots of English patches coming out for Saturn now too. There isn't a compendium for really anything. In a perfect world, when emulation is done well and perfected (NES and SNES), it's indistinguishable from the real console. Sure, emulators can bypass sprite limits and make games run smoother and better than they ever did, but when emulators are very much not done (any of the systems you've listed), it's much easier to look at it and be a bit displeased. I own a Saturn and I can barely play it, so it sucks that emulation isn't what it is.

It's also not that hard. If you find a Trurip, Redump or Darkwater rom set, it has everything you need. Just import, setup RetroArch or your emulator of choice and go. Sometimes you'll need command lines, or in the case of RA it requires command line, but yea. It will take some learning. Edit: Yabausa is also the worst choice. Mednafen Saturn is generally the best and will probably provide better results. Make sure you're not stretching the image too. But don't forget, we're talking games that had really low resolutions being upscaled to 1080 vertically.

I removed your last few lines. We do not support Kodi Boxes or Illegal Plugins here on the forums. Those boxes are also now illegal in the UK, and probably to follow soon here too. I'm all for your own collection in to an install of Kodi, and you can still find various plugins that do what you want, but please do not talk about either the boxes or plugins here. Just update to the latest, Kodi, like LaunchBox, thrives on being updated. If your going out of your way to stay behind because you must have these plugins, find new ones or you're going to be stuck with no support on the older versions.

Big Box Running on 3 Monitors (Nvidia Surround)
SentaiBrad replied to 94productions's topic in Noobs
Well, as a workaround, does the software not have white or blacklisting options? Can you not blacklist BigBox from being handled by the software? -
I personally don't like any games in zips, and suggest users not to either. It will be better in the long run for most systems not to be, but it has zero bearing on import. As long as the names are correct. I couldn't tell you why they didn't get found in the initial import, but like I said you can edit the games and check to see if they're attached. If they're not, click Search and attach them to an entry.

Yea, but if you have a dual channel board, and you stick in 1 stick, it will perform worse. If it's a dual channel board, you really want to stick in 2. So I would just go with the 16GB and call it a day.
-
I suggest they don't be in zips, but that has nothing to do with them not being found. I am leaning more towards a potential LaunchBox settings problem. Is your platform named the default NES platform? If it's not at the default name, did you scrape it as the NES platform? In LaunchBox, edit the game not found and see if it's attached to the LaunchBox Games Database. You'll know if it is if there is a blue link in the top right. If it's not, it should say Search. The names and platforms need to match up as best as they can, but since the names are proper, I am thinking it's the platform.

Big Box Running on 3 Monitors (Nvidia Surround)
SentaiBrad replied to 94productions's topic in Noobs
No, actually I think you're the first to request this. I don't think themes can currently put Big Box across two+ screens either. You can have Big Box on one screen, then have the Marquee stuff on another, but that's the extent of that. Both of those things can be edited by a theme though. To add in multi-monitor support is a good idea in the long run, but not many people request it. However, feel free to make the request by clicking Issue/Request at the top of the forums. -
Import all your MAME roms like normal and let it create the automatic playlists. There should be Neo Geo playlists. Otherwise, you can take out all of the NeoGeo required files, import just them, make a custom platform and scrape it as Arcade.

So if you are going with one of those i3's, keep in mind that they may be different chip sets. So the warning in PCPartPicker you got was probably related to that. You might have picked a motherboard for one chipset, but not the other. If the motherboard doesn't support that chipset, then you can't use any of those CPU's. Edit: Oh, I run 32GB of RAM, and I max it out constantly, but I am a video editor.
-
That's where my first thought goes to too, a config changed somewhere.
-
I don't have my MAME rom set to check right now, or I would. X_X So a few things to remember, the rom set needs to be in your MAME/roms folder, or you tell it where the full package is. You'll also need to set up the associated platform default command line parameters like RetroArch, console name and command line. You may need to try a few different command lines. This depends on the system, but some have a few different kinds. You also don't need to use the software list rom sets if you have other rom sets, but I guess that depends on the system. Some systems may not have other rom sets, or in the case of CD-i I could only get it working with the CHD software list set.

Most of those zips will contain multiple files, and having them be in zips wont function properly. I would delete genre's or games you're not fond of first, before you unzip them. I removed most sports games for example. Then, it should be smaller, but these files aren't large, there's just a lot of them. They should ideally be unzipped though.

I knew someone was gonna come with something.
