  1. I thought driver bug too. Direct Sound is related. I would try two things, running Driver Booster and K-Lite Codec Pack. How the second one directly links to this? I have no clue, but drawing on my experience with "Direct Sound", these are the only two things I could think of. Let Driver Booster do it's thing, and if K-Lite says if found any broken or out of date codecs, let it fix them. http://www.iobit.com/en/driver-booster.php http://codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_standard.htm
  2. Something like this is being looked at. @Vlansix is an extremely capable and badass person who is working on the Database and is doing an amazing job. He has tons of plans for stuff like this.
  3. I know what Raine IS, but I haven't used it effectively. That also doesn't tell me what system you are trying to emulate as it does several.
  4. They're different systems though. Even if the same emulator can be used, they're still separate. Game Boy, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance can all be played from VBA, VBA-M and mGBA, but they would never be merged. Just keep two platforms, one that is Apple II, and one that is Apple IIGS and they can use the same emulator.
  5. Well, MAME is competent for pretty much every system, so the Arcade platform already includes things like Neo Geo MVS stuff. If you are looking for video or metadata for Neo Geo MVS stuff, it will be located under the Arcade platform more than likely.
  6. As an extremely helpful reference, I did find this: http://www.dosbox.com/wiki/Mapper
  7. There isn't really something like this. You might be able to find mapper files out there for specific games, I know you can specify custom mapper files in a conf file, but having an automatic style solution doesn't really exist. If DOSBox can read your controller, then setting up the mapper file might be the best solution as I don't know if you can set this from within a game's controls menu. You could also use Xpadder as well, but this might be a bit clunky. Either way, only very specific games will even work well with a controller, so keep that in mind.
  8. I am unfamiliar with Raine, but if it's like the other Arcade emulators, then you need to tell it's rom paths to look where you have a MAME Rom pack, so that it can look in there for BIOS files. Otherwise there may be special command line parameters that are needed. What are you trying to emulate?
  9. I would try FCEUMM or Nestopia in RetroArch if you can't solve this, but this is really really odd. I've never heard of something like this. I'll ask Jason if that error means anything to him.
  10. I removed the mention of where you got your roms from, as we need to keep that to an absolute minimum. I will say that if you got your games and BIOS from there, then that is your exact problem. That website is extremely notorious for very very bad rips of almost every single disc based system. I would look for No-Intro sets for 16 and CD, and just use those.
  11. Of course, no problem. This goes for any system. If you need to update with new games, you just re-run the importer and LB will ignore any duplicates that are found in that path.

No clue. If it's not running with MESS (the CD-i portion), then I don't know how long it will take to get compatibility up. Daphne should be able to run Laserdisc games though.
  13. If you do want to edit a system, you can load up the system in MESS, press Tab and go to the 'This Machine' menu option and edit them in here. This should be for that specific platform, not the single game. But, like @lordmonkus said too, it should automatically do some of it for you. There might be the odd system like CD-i that has it's own way of wanting to do things and will require manual input.
  14. The CD-i had some odd controllers, so I wouldn't be surprised if the CD-i portion of MESS only utilizes a mouse. You edit controls however any other way you do in MAME or MESS. Press Tab, open the This Machine portion (when loaded), then change them in here.
  15. I also just re-read the first post, No, Premium is not required for basic functionality. Jason tried really hard to make sure that Premium was an enhancement, not a veiled requirement. I helped as well trying to shape Premium the way it is now. We had long discussions about that. So he tried to make Premium a good value, while still having LaunchBox be completely usable by anyone.
  16. You just made @Vlansix's day. He's laughing really hard that the first request is an RL Tutorial. We were just having this conversation. Yea, I've been meaning to do a sync tutorial for a few weeks now actually, so I might get that ready for next week. It's going to require a bit more set up than normal to make sure I have everything correct.
  17. So I try to mark down as many tutorial requests as I possibly can, but they sometimes get lost in the shuffle! So I am remaking my request thread. So if you have a tutorial that isn't on the list, then request it. I have two main lists, with a third odds and ends list. There are System based tutorials and feature specific tutorials, anyone can request anything if they fit. Obviously I can't start doing tutorials on Windows related stuff, unless it's something very specific for LaunchBox. System Tutorials: ScummVM ScummVM ScummVM!!!! 18. If it's 1 v 1, then it's cooperative with a max players of 2, so really I don't think they should be approved. @Vlansix might be changing these fields to also only accept numbers as well.
  19. Actually, those cores aren't the exact recommended ones anymore, they just haven't been changed. Bsnes Balanced for SNES. Nestopia works great as well as FCEUMM, so either works. N64 emulation isn't the greatest either way, and the new core for that isn't ready to go just yet. You also need to make sure like @In virtute Dei said, that the core is downloaded, but the name here on the associated platforms page and on the left of LaunchBox match, RetroArch is linked properly in RetroArch (more when updating). He posted the video tutorial that will probably help the most. I'll also move this thread.
  20. It does say that, but it works just fine usually.
  21. Forgot about that button too.
  22. It might be, but I am unsure. There's no reason not to update. I took a screenshot to show where it is:
