  1. I used MESS for Neo Geo CD because FBA has issues and refuses Neo Geo CD.
  2. You can go to the database, click a game and edit it, or add a completely brand new game. Anyone can do this, we just ask that everyone follow the guidelines.
  3. It depends on how it's flagged internally by the Steam API, and there isn't anything we can do to make them not do this, however, I could see that we combine it with the base game like we do Discs, but we'd need a way for us to identify what's what, and their API isn't super customizable (from what I've been told).
  4. If I come across it, I will approve it, but it still requires 3 approvals over rejections, so now it needs 4?
  5. Because PC Engine doesn't exist on our site, and other regional consoles are being merged with the regular ones, and keeping the metadata and images of all of them. We need to even add for this console as well. So with Scrape As you can make any number of custom consoles with this. You can change the name and set it in the Manage Platforms view, you can also set it during import if you make the name a non-default one. Past that, I don't know why it's not finding video. If games are being found otherwise in the LaunchBox Games Database and other EmuMovies stuff, then I don't know whats going on right now. I'll talk to Jason and see if anything is going on.
  6. I've heard that BAM is supposed to be pretty good and easy to use, but I haven't tested it personally yet.
  7. Yearly and Lifetime's are generally the most cost effective, and they run sales from time to time.
  8. Yea, I noticed that after. (I'm just waking up) . Yea, I would move your LaunchBox install out of your Users folder and see if that fixes things.
  9. You're scraping your TurboGrafx-16 platform and not PC-Engine right?
  10. Yea, for me, especially now that I've figured out MESS, that's probably what I would use for this too.
  11. Where is your LB install located?
  12. http://emumovies.com/store/category/3-donation-options/ If you go monthly though, you wont get any updates after the month.
  13. You need to set the controls properly. There are several different controller types that need to be set. You either need to emulate a wii mote, a wii mote + nunchuck, sometimes a wii classic controller will work, sometimes a GameCube controller will work. It depends on the game, and a game that requires motion controls may not work the best. You can emulate swings, and waggle to a certain extent, but not fully. You'll set the main controller type, like Wii Mote or GameCube controller, and in the Wii mote's case, there will be another sub section to then set the add-on, which can be several things. So yea, at this point you'll just need to set up the controller properly. If you want to use real Wii hardware, there is also the Mayflash Dolphin Bar that you can get, and in conjunction with Bluetooth you can get it working.
  14. I would go with either MESS or ColEm, and probably MESS. You can follow one of our MESS tutorials, follow the links to find the info for the ColecoVision like I did in the videos, and plug the ColecoVision info in instead and be up and running.
  15. Maybe, we would love to include other sources, but honestly probably not. It would all be dependent on them. If they allow their data to be used elsewhere, if they have an API for us to use, if they even want to share their data. So we'd always be looking to expand, but in the long run our Database should get filled as much as it possibly can, it's the only source we can guarantee that we can use for forever.
  16. Well, a potentially less inclusive method I would use is import the set of roms for every region I want. Keep MAME as the emulator and just add the custom platforms to the associated platforms page. So Arcade (USA), Arcade (Japan), Arcade (World), etc, and have them scraped as Arcade. If there was a combination for Arcade, it should show the artwork for the region it can detect, if the artwork was properly flagged for it's region. So what ever you import it as is what it gets, and then the rest would get added to the associated platforms page. All of the artwork attached will still get downloaded for that game though. It starts to get extremely tricky though, now we're getting to the point where we're stacking systems on top of systems, systems on top of different methods. I agree we should probably add in Arcade combinations for different regions, but it may take some time in order for it to get completely up to par, like I said, systems on top of systems, and complicated ones at that. Some of this stuff will also require some Database updates to make sure it's facilitated properly.
  17. Sweet! This is exactly what we needed, a slightly more active place to discuss and figure out some Database stuff. The BitBucket is great for reporting and keeping track of things, but it still doesn't beat a thread!
  18. I just updated the Guidelines given a lot of the changes that Alex (@Vlansix) has made! So if you are curious, check out the updates and let me know if you disagree with anything. The wording might also need to change a bit, so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to make the suggestion on the documernt. @FistyDollars I saw the changes you requested, but I didn't exactly know how to go about it, so I think I updated it well. Merging the consoles is still planned though, so I didn't remove that completely. It's just that now Scrape As and Alternate names are here, the consoles just need to get merged merged, so the other regions versions get preserved.
  19. Ah ok, I see now why Alex asked me about the "facing" name, it's more for sorting purposes. I would tend to agree, for games that span multiple regions the NTSC / North American release name would probably be favorable. Any region exclusives would obviously use their only name. In the rare case that a game was released in Japan and Europe, but not N. America, I would say that the English name would prevail? In terms of a Japanese only game, the Romanji name would take precedent over the Japanese accurate name (Can we even display Japanese character Alex? ). Past that, I would be unsure what to say. A Japanese and Korean only game for example, do we just prefer the Japanese title? So in all cases, The English name over any other region, with NTSC/ North American first, then European next? After that, the Japanese name preferred as the top?
  20. I'm just glad that it isn't super dark like the VC emulation they have. I did a story on this for RSS actually, the hardware they have in there is super powerful, compared to what they would realistically need. Also be careful, apparently they're already on eBay for $200, which is stupid.
  21. There are a lot of games, especially older ones, that don't even have trailers, so gameplay would work just fine I would think. In the case of really old games that do have trailers, I'd be less picky with a watermark on it if it's extremely hard to find. A really bad trailer, or a trailer with a watermark could be easily replaced with gameplay instead though, so I don't know.
  22. NMM makes it really east to do that.
  23. Um... the Xbox One is not hacked currently, and even if it was, unfortunately it doesn't run on the exact same x86. Granted, it is x86, both the PS4 and Xbox One are, so in theory we could technically run on them, but it would require some leg work on out part to get there.
  24. I have to agree, that using the ISO would be better in the long run, but also there is a question of if that is even possible. Unless we wrote code to decipher discs, there's really no way to know what disc is for what system.
