  1. get a hdmi to dvi adapter then everything should be back to normal. http://www.amazon.com/Importer520-Plated-Female-DVI-D-Adapter/dp/B0035B4LJM/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1442179819&sr=1-2&keywords=hdmi+to+dvi+adapter
  2. Use Paint or something else to crop and edit to get just the front cover. It can be time consuming but for me the end results are worth it.
  3. Is anyone using MAME v0.164 I get an error about -nowindows being an unknown option. Ok did a little searching and found this http://easyemu.mameworld.info/mameguide/mameguide-options.html if you click on -windows it gives you opposites to the command which lists -nowindows and -now. If you change -nowindows to -now it works again with no error message.
  4. Damn talking about my setup and now it seems that my 24'' Asus has died the monitor says that it is on (blue light opposed to orange) but I only have a black screen if I power it off and back on the Asus logo appears then my screen flashes up and then winks right back to black. I've unplugged it tried multiple HDMI cables and multiple computers all with the same reaction so monitor is definitely the culprit I have to go scrounge around for a vga plug in the morning and see if maybe it still works with other outputs. If it is kaput then my 6 monitor desktop will just have to become a 5 screen setup
  5. I knew that but didn't realize that went for different platforms. I recently used that method to add games that were listed in the XML but weren't showing up in LaunchBox. It worked very well.
  6. Do any of the emulators have .ini files that would allow you to change the display preference or have you tried opening the emulators outside of LaunchBox in a window and then moving them to the screen you prefer and closing them on that screen then try relaunching them from LaunchBox and see if it made any changes
  7. I tested this and it holds true on my machine. Works that way with taskbar icon also so really it doesn't need a fix at least in Windows 10 just launch it from the monitor you want and it will appear there.
  8. when it asks you to import roms can't you type in your custom platform instead of using the drop down list.
  9. I played around a little with this and I noticed that LaunchBox opens on the last monitor that it was closed on. BigBox though seems to open on my TV regardless of which screen I have LaunchBox on. Possibly because I can't find a way to move it to the second monitor and it opens on the TV because that is always the last screen it was closed on.
  10. I have a multiple monitor setup myself (50'' Samsung and 24''Asus in portrait) but for some reason it always opens on the Samsung so I don't have any issue however if it was opening on my other monitor I could see this posing an issue so a means to control it would seem wise.
  11. I like this idea just remove the automatically added v and only display user entered value is if its v1.1 instead of the user typing 1.1 they will have to type v1.1 this leaves it open to using revisions or protos, beta whatever without the v in front of it.
  12. I read comics on my 8'' Windows tablet or on my 24 '' portrait monitor being able to read them in portrait makes all the difference in my opinion.
  13. Garbonzo's method works extremely well.
  14. Sorry in advance if this isn't what you are looking for but it sounds like maybe JoyToKey or X-Padder would help you out.
  15. I added a few CPS-2 games this morning without any issues then I went to add some more as soon as they finished importing the problems started LaunchBox made 2 different Platforms with the same name and both Platforms only included the original games I added the new ones were all lost and not to be found. I tried to delete the duplicate Platform which then removed the games from both platforms removed the one Platform and left the other blank with no way to delete it (because there are no games) I then re-added all of the games and once again it created another duplicate Platform and still only contained the original games I had imported. I then checked in the XML file and all the games are listed the original and the invisible ones. The issue almost sounds similar to the one from the "Rom Files are not successfully importing" thread except I have the duplicate platform issue going on. Ok I managed to remove the platform using the manage platform option in tools will try to add games again and see what happens. It only added the original files the second 10 are in the XML but not in LaunchBox. I experimented with adding a new game that I hadn't added before and this works just that one group of games isn't showing. I forced adding duplicates and then it worked for the 10 games in question. Still curious as to what caused the issue
  16. Nice now Model 2, Model 3, CPS, CPS2, CPS3 and Neo Geo launch with the click of a button. I was hoping it would do Crystal to but no go.
  17. Some images of how Ubooquity looks
  18. If anyone is interested Windows Server 2016 Essentials TP3 is available to test the install is good until next July. I just finished installing it in Hyper-V on my Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials server. It is a good way to learn about servers and there are a few good forums if you run into any problems on the way (We Got Served and The Home Server Show). Servers feature Remote Access to multiple home computers via RDP gateway and access to all shared files on the server. It also features client computer backup for all client machines. I've used the client restore a few times to fix failed disk or when upgrading to bigger SSD's it works pretty good. Centralized storage is a plus but I wouldn't recommend the built in storage spaces but rather CoveCube's StableBit DrivePool and Scanner for disk pooling and monitoring. While this software is sure to be expensive (the server OS) the preview is for a year and by the time it is over there will most likely be an 180 day eval of the final product which if like past versions will feature two rearms so one can ride this out for a while before having to cough up some dough (and if it is anything like past versions the R2 preview and eval will be out before your rearms are up I've started using Windows Home Server v1 (based off of Server 2003) and quickly moved to WHS2011 (Windows 7) then switched to Server 2012 Essentials (8) during the preview and to R2 Essentials (8.1) in the middle of my second rearm. V1 came on a small Asus server that I bought I then purchased 2011 for $50 hoping to upgrade my box but discovered that the computer only supports 32x cpu's and 2011 required 64 bit OS. After taking the original server offline I installed 2011 on a open box Dell desktop I got for around 300. I now run 2011 on a computer I built and 2012 R2 Essentials on an Asus 5290 with an i7 920 and 16GB of RAM (now 12GB because I just assigned 4GB's to my new VM running Server 2016 Essentials). If any one is interested I suggest giving it a try and if you have any questions I maybe able to help.
  19. I've heard you mention it before I am usually good about protecting myself but I think that I will try it out and then go install it on both of my brothers and my nephews computers it sounds like it could save me from a lot of bs work.
  20. FIOS main advertising points is upload speeds that match download speeds because if you use FIOS you will never be half-fast so due to that they probably make sure that the up speed is good. Plus 57 down is pretty good I don't really suffer from any performance issues and my torrents all get pretty good speeds. If you don't mind me asking do you pay extra to get that speed?
  21. Google must be out of their minds I would never buy a router that has one port in this day and age it is crazy. I have two multi-port (Gigabit) routers a 8 port hub and two 5 port hubs (all Gigabit) plus two access points and a multi-port powerline adapter around my house. There are just to many devices on the network these days (Tv's, SlingBox, Ouya , PS3, X-Box 360, X-Box One, 2 WD TV Lives, PC's with and without VMs) for one port.
  22. I'm right outside of Philadelphia in southern New Jersey with FIOS service I'm getting 57 down and 63 up (which would be nice if I uploaded things)
  23. Colorado looks beautiful especially that waterfall. I am sure tourism is booming since legalization too.
  24. You have to be careful for adware with every thing you download otherwise your browser will be high jacked you will end up with 50 toolbars and BS pop ups will cripple your computer trust me I know because I've had to fix my family members computers quite a few times. Free software is a necessary risk but if you know what you are doing you can avoid bad things from happening (always check the custom install box and then uncheck all the options) the reset Firefox option under troubleshooting Information usually fixes most issues but there are some tricky things out there Revo Uninstaller is good for problem items and MalwareBytes is also a real help.
