This seems interesting how do you set it up in LaunchBox though do you still point to the emulator that you want or do you point it to a RL file that is linked to your emulator (sorry for my ignorance in advance as I have no clue really how RL works).

In LaunchBox you can use the right click menu and choose open game folder then you can delete it from there. Then go back to LaunchBox and delete it from your list. I'm personally weary about deleting roms from LB but if it was implemented with a prompt to either remove it from LB or delete it permanently and then another prompt saying are you sure you want to remove this game from your hard drive then I wouldn't care. I don't know if Jason plans on adding delete features to BigBox or not. I think a majority of the management is meant to be handled by LB and that BigBox is meant to compliment LaunchBox not to take its place by doing everything that LB does. That being said I am sure if people support the idea then it could be added to the list.

Yeah I see what you mean now you would want to see different logos for your platforms in an all category. Possible for the list of games you could reimport all of your games using the force duplicates and put them in a custom platform that you name All. Choose to use the files in the locations that they already are located and you wouldn't need to have duplicate files and that would allow BigBox to display them together. Of course this solution wouldn't help you with the platform images but it would get you an all list. Add the roms from one platform at a time and make sure you choose the appropriate emulator when using the wizard. Since it is only around 150 games that should be very manageable.

I never use the all filter so I opened BigBox and I don't see anyway to access the all feature which kind of makes sense since the images of the game boxes, videos, fanart, etc. and the coinciding systems is what BigBox was all about. I would love to see the small Alphabetical (including what you described) issues get worked out not that it is a big deal but because it just bugs me when I know that things aren't listed correctly sometimes. However its not that big of a deal especially knowing that Jason has been busy on much more important tweaks namely LaunchBoxes incredible new MAME features making small issues like this seem like a more than fair trade off in the users favor. This combined with the fact that I just added 3800 plus new arcade ROMs (bringing me to a grand total of 17803 total games) and LaunchBox is still lightning fast after the performance tweaks that have been implemented recently means even though there are somethings left on the infinitely expanding to do list major work is being put into this program daily. Your last item you mean like a slideshow with intervals (either based on time or a specific amount of games that have been scrolled through) were the image would change to different Nintendo Logos maybe a Famicom logo and so on, that I don't think is currently possible and would probably take some effort to implement.

Jason you are seriously the best! Any chance that includes non-working ROMs

It's an Insignia they are carrying them at BestBuy at least here in Jersey it is comparable in price to some Android tablets but I just prefer Windows not that Android isn't any good I find it highly functional just not my preference. So far it's pretty good (I fear the 16GB storage space though). Microsoft should work on better ways to manage small drives with conjunction to removable storage like if you are using flash memory or if during install it detects an SSD it should during setup offer options to install certain parts of Windows onto removable storage or at least make it easier to transfer it to it.

No crashes since disabling the RAM cache the images do take a second to load but it only has 1GB of RAM and the cache was set to 512mb could I enable it and set it to something ridiculously low say like 32 mb and maybe get slightly faster load times of the images but not wreck havoc on the system. I was weary of buying this tablet due to the small amount of RAM and flash memory only 16GB drive but it was $89 dollars so as the cliche goes you get what you pay for. I bought it strictly to use as a hand held gaming system and so far it handles games great it is a little choppy with Project 64 and TurboEngine. Included are images of the handheld controller and the one I use in my car (I take my grandmother to a lot of appointments and wait in the car either watching Plex or playing games) I have another tablet that fits in a dashboard mount that I have so that's my carputer it has GPS and OBDII functionality and I use a car PC front end called DriveLine as the UI.

This will be greatly appreciated as I want to set up a Saturn library on both my kitchen and living room HTPC's but I don't look forward to adding two additional apps per game like I did for almost 300 games in my bedroom
-
AH! Let me check on that and see if it helps I was thinking of changing over to list view if that might help. I also removed all image folders except front for all of my platforms hoping that would help but since adding the extra 700 games problems started. I guess I have to just figure out which games are essential to have in LaunchBox and the others will still be on the SD card if need be. That or I will just have to create a separate LaunchBox instance for each Platform or at least each emulator.

Are they named correctly? In the latest version of LaunchBox the abbreviated MAME games should be given their proper names not the abbreviation. I have only fooled around with importing my arcade ROMs because of the huge amount of clones, nonworking games and different revisions (it would just be an insane amount of work to import of them and then edit them out). So far I have noticed that alot of them don't end up with any metadata so I'm assuming that the DB just doesn't have entries for many of them.
-
For games with no metadata you have to put in the work especially for the Japanese games very few of them are in the database Here is a Yu Yu Hakusho 2 box found on Google. You can open your edit window for the game and drag the image from here into the edit window image section and it will add it. It is long tedious work but your collection will look fantastic after you get through it. If possible the most efficient way to work on this is with multiple monitors if not an option then using individual windows for LaunchBox and your browser will work.

I'm running LaunchBox on an Insigna Tablet with 1GB of RAM up until today it was working great then today I added a bunch of SNES games and ever since LaunchBox is throwing this System Out of Memory Exception every time shortly after loading

I was scrolling through LaunchBox today with my 360 controller and when I got to the bottom near the game I was looking for I mistakenly switched over to the next platform and then had to start all the way at the top so I was thinking that it would be nice that if you pushed up from the first row it would go to the bottom of your list although as I was typing this I wondered if using function+end would take me to the bottom of the list and of course it did but still that is only convenient to those of us that have keyboards handy (which I do except on my tablet handheld version of LaunchBox and the tablet I mount in my car). I would think that this would be a nice add on feature hopefully it can get added to the list. I wouldn't mind seeing a touch friendly skin added too with larger fonts for right click context and some of the other optoins. (I'm probably in the minority of using LaunchBox on a tablet so I understand if this isn't feasible). A touch special version would be cool with the letter features that Windows 8 and 10 have where you press the letter buttons for the alphabet appear and you choose the one you want. I first saw that on Windows phone and was blown away by the simplicity and brilliant functionality of it. Also it could be made to be lighter with only cover art. I know it is configurable what images you want to download but some time I navigate the UI very quickly and forget to untick boxes. Anyway I'm just kicking ideas around in my head.

LaunchBox installs by default in your documents folder. If I have issues updating I usually make sure there are no instances of LaunchBox running in Task Manager and if I don't find them I remove both BigBox.exe and LaunchBox.exe from the folder and then hit try again (if you are being offered thseo options when it fails that usually works for me).
-
Yes they are in the platform sidebar. I tried selecting all the games in the lower case one and changing the platform to the upper case hoping this would remove the second instance but it didn't have any effect.

I just noticed that I have 2 Nintendo Wii platforms 1 named Nintendo Wii and the other named Nintendo wii both platforms have the same items in them

Hey I'm in no way trying to be a dick here but if you have your system hooked up to a TV and you don't have some kind of wireless mouse keyboard combo (or at least a media remote with one of their horrible mouse pads) for your computer you are doing it all wrong. Amazon has numerous mini keyboards available for around $20 and Microsoft has a $25 keyboard touch pad combo available on Amazon. I personally have a Logitech K400r in almost every room of my house (because there is HTPC in every room) they used to be around $25 on Amazon but I see that the price has risen since the last time I have purchased one. The keyboards are slim and don't take up much room and if that is an issue then the minis are even better for this purpose though not as versatile as a full keyboard with function keys.

2 interesting/'cool' PC's: 1 Case-Less and the other an Open-Frame Case
DOS76 replied to CadetStimpy's topic in Monkeys
They R both incredible -
If it says zero games imported click the force duplicate check box during the import wizard.

Jason MAME feature is working great now I just have to figure out what ROMS I want to add
-
Ok I usually save that step for last but that is great to know for the future next project is PS2 which is a big job since I still have to acquire the ISO's for 23 letters in the alphabet.

Ok tonight I figured out how to setup the XBox One app to launch from with in LaunchBox this would also work for any Windows Store apps. To do so first hit Win+R then type in "shell.AppsFolder" Once in the folder you will see your apps go down to the bottom of the file list and right click on the XBox app and create a shortcut on the desktop. Next open LaunchBox and go to Tools\Manage Emulators from there name the emulator whatever you want. Then use the browse button and go to desktop click the drop down tab for the file type and choose all files click on your Xbox shortcut. Name a default platform afterwards and then exit. Then drag and drop the shortcut into LaunchBox add it like a rom file (or you probably can do otherwise I just went with this because I knew it would work using rom settings) Add your XBox One logo through the editor and then double-click it launches the app and you can click on steaming and start your X-Box up remotely (if you have a password on then you have to actually sign in to the physical machine Which is dumb as hell and completely ruins the concept of streaming but once disabled it works brilliantly) It would be nicer if it launched to the streaming option but I'm not going to complain to much. Hope someone enjoys. PS I was thinking that this would be cool for arcade machines but then I realized it only works with One or 360 controllers as of now who knows if there will be 3rd party support or not.
-
Ok the X-Box One streaming announcement was one of the major factors that decided that I would purchase an X-Box today was the first time that I decided to give it a try (until Saturday my X-Box wasn't even plugged in for about 2 months) I have to say I am extremely impressed with the quality of the streaming. I had a controller issue at first due to the controller (360 wireless) with it navigating both the Xbox app and doing in game actions at the same time so whenever I pushed B it would exit the stream which made it totally unplayable turns out all I had to do was update the app and all of those issues went away now it works flawlessly on the computer. Microsoft has done a good job with this (so far)
