  1. Set up just the .cue file in LaunchBox to do so use Windows search (search for .cue) in your PS1 folder and drag all the .cue's over (or to skip the next step weed out the additional disks before you drag and drop) go through the list and remove all of the additional discs except disk 1 then after you have added them all right click (or hit ctrl + E) on the appropriate game once in the edit windows click the additional apps tab. Add the additional app name it disk 2 (or whatever you prefer) add the path to the second disc (repeat for all additional disks) and click the use emulator check box and hit Okay. Now when you right click on that game the additional disks will appear in the right click context menu. Why we are on this subject Jason is there anyway that you could change the behavior of clicking browse inside the additional apps set up window it opens the explorer window for adding the game but it is defaulted to .exe, .bat and another option I think could it be on all files by default this way we don't have to navigate over to the drop down and change it before any of the games appear you can hit tab as soon as the Window opens and then down cursor twice and press enter to do it quickly but it would be much faster if all files was default if you have no control over this and Windows manages how it is handled then its out of your hands but if you can change this it would be greatly appreciated.
  2. All of my platforms are staring at the bottom of the list but maybe that is the location where I exited that last platform.
  3. Hey everyone I've been obsessively adding platforms to LaunchBox all week. I got PS1 (1293 games) and Nintendo Gamecube (546 games) added over the last 5 days and it took a lot of work to get it how I wanted it plus a lot of large file transfers from my server to an external connected to my main gaming PC. In the process I noticed that I hadn't gotten around to re-adding my SNES games due to having a bad corruption issue effecting my games from the letter S thru V so I replaced them with a new set of ROMS. I added them tonight and while testing a few of them in the middle of editing my metadata (or lack there of) I noticed I had games that wouldn't load in Snes9x and some games like Super Star Wars and SSW Empire Strikes Back that had terrible crackling noise in them when you loaded them so I went looking for an alternative emulator and ran across a build of Snes9x-sx on The Old Computer I unzipped it and tested it and it fixed both the games that wouldn't load but also any games with crackling sound. I was so happy with this find that I went into LaunchBox added Snes9x-sx as my regular emulator for SNES. Hopefully this can help out someone else using Snes9x. On another note I updated my Dolphin emulator to the highest number release candidate for Dolphin 5.0 and I am happy to say that this has fixed issues with games that also had crackling audio and other games that were displaying a black screen with sound during some of the intro scenes for Gamecube games. It even fixed the issue with Avatar crashing Dolphin though the game is still unplayable due to running super slow. If you are using Dolphin give the new release client a go I think you will be pleased.
  4. I wasn't even aware of that setting I must have unchecked accidentally somewhere along the way.
  5. Of course that's what you are eating there everyone has the munchies.
  6. Thanks I think the first time I used alt+F4 so that was probably the cause.
  7. Problem seems to not exist when I load files from a local drive rather than the network drive.
  8. Any one know a way to get ESPX to fully close out I always have to go into the Task Manager and end the task to get it to exit completely. Looking for an additional app command I can put in that would fully close the process on exiting.
  9. @Bil I have been contemplating doing exactly what you described to my Launchbox setup to eliminate some of the clutter in the platform list and to lessen the load due to my almost 11,000 game library (- Mame Gamecube PS1 and Wii and a few others which I haven't gotten around to adding just yet) That or doing a Nintendo, Sega, Atari, Sony and Miscellaneous setup. As for slow game launch I started adding a few PS1 games today but I am loading the games from a Windows Home Server I have and its taking more than a minute to actually start the emulator so I am copying all the files to an external that I have for my computer in the hopes that this will improve performance.
  10. A lot of Japanese and European only games won't get any metadata using Genesis but if you use Mega Drive there will be results. In one of my Launchbox setups I have both combined and did a ton of work to get the data on another I have them as two different instances and that was less work. I would suggest setting them up separately even if you want to have them as the same thing later on just to avoid having to find your own data.
  11. If you set up either clear logos or fanart to display as the background you can just change any of the screen shots that you have to either of those categories and it will display. While that is just a quick fix I could see this being added as an option for premium users.
  12. I had been setting up the games as I was playing them and got curious and googled this hopefully it will help someone out.
  13. You would have to go into SSF and hit the Drive drop down menu if your Virtual drive is listed there than you don't have anything to worry about. Which version of Daemon Tools are you trying to use and on which version of Windows. Have you tried running it in compatibility mode (not sure if it will change anything but you never know).
  14. The real question is will either SSF or Yabause see Virtual Clone Drive. I know that Windows 8, 8.1 and 10 all have a virtual drive but SSF doesn't detect them.
  15. you would need a .bat to have Daemon mount the game SSF to run it and then Daemon to unmount it then place that in additional app. I tested the make a mount and unmount app in the disk 2 settings then I made an additional app to the 2nd disk from the first disk but when you use that it doesn't seem to pick up the mount app from the second disk so for enemy zero (and some others) I will just have to have multiple disk showing. I wish someone would work on SSF and get it to load its own games like most other disk based emulators do but I don't think there has been an update in awhile.
  16. Ok I'll try I'm using SSF to emulate Sega Saturn there is a .bat file listed on the forums that will auto mount and unmount games but using that it only works for me about 20% of the time so I am stuck using the additional apps method for my Saturn games I go in to the editor and then additional apps and create two separate apps one to mount the game and another to unmount this method works brilliantly except that it is very labor intensive (so in computer equivalent very time consuming not to mention tedious) I have a few games with more than one disc for other systems (PS1 or PS2) you can just add the 2nd disk as an additional app and run it from the right click menu of the game easy peasy. With the Saturn games using the method I'm using if I was to add the 2nd disc as an additional app then Daemon Tools wouldn't get the command to mount and unmount the game SSF will start but no game will be loaded. I hope you follow so far. This leads me to think that if I want to launch the 2nd disk I have to leave it in the games list because I have to set up the mount and unmount commands to get it to work so for multidisk games in Saturn you have to have all the disks showing to launch those disks. I was thinking that I could still make mount and unmount commands for the second disk and then add the second disk as an additional app to the 1st one but that would probably not worth it with I'm stuck with the multiple entries anyway.
  17. I will have to read through that and see if I can get it to work. Did you get them to boot but just couldn't get the game to start?
  18. Ok a little issue with this if I am using to run the second disk of a Saturn game through SSF (which every game uses a mount and unmount additional app to start with how would I set that up just listing the .cue doesn't work because Daemon Tools isn't being instructed to load the new disk. I'm guessing I am going to have to leave all the disks up in the list make additional apps for them then I could still make the additional app to the .cue and the instructions from its additional app will then implement.
  19. I just imported the Japanese version of Turbo Grafx games into my TG16 platform now I want to list the Japanese using the version field but when I fill it out nothing shows up in the game list to let me know which game is which.
  20. Is anyone emulating the Tri-Force arcade using a special build of Dolphin. I've gotten 3 games to boot but they all report errors and take me to the service and test area which I can then tweak settings but when I try to exit out of test it negates all of my changes and won't leave the test area. I don't know what the issue is and I have seen footage of others that have it running. If anyone has it working maybe you can give me a hand with getting it going I'm trying to get Mario Kart GP 1 & 2 and Virtual Striker 3 up and going.
  21. I'm just glad as I get know the ins and outs of the program I can help more people out so you can write mo better code for the rest of us.
  22. @Maddoc1007 I must have different rom files out of the 8 games I had 7 working while still .zip then came across the 8th at Gametronik so I have them all going does running them unzipped get you sound in Smash Driving Brave Fire Fighters or Planet Harrier? I used my original naomi.bat and changed naomi to both gaelco and hikaru which is working good. Does anyone know a command I could add to get gaelco games to change the graphic plugin since I like to use the DX11ng plugin on the other machines. I suppose that would force me to add a line to all the bats though to change it back if switching to another system so I may just make a second folder throw the bat in there with its own .ini and that would be that Jason I was definitely joking I could never lose faith in the science method. I like your unidentified variable theory if this was a Marvel letter page I would give you a No-Prize.
  23. Yeah I mess with compatibility settings but I've never had to change the scaling before I'm going to try that for O2EM that was driving everything on my screen crazy the other day when I was messing with it.
