  1. I'd say that seems high, but the NES cart market got kind of ridiculous in the past couple years (part of the reason I had to stop collecting more), so who knows? I'd expect the auction to reach at least $350. Also, you've got Kirby's Adventure listed twice in the game list, but I only see one copy. This may be turning people away who are concerned about what they're actually getting.
  2. Once again, I find myself agreeing with Cebion. Alternate names / regional release dates / proper game deletion NEED to happen. It seems like half the changes submitted have to do with those. I'll keep submitting stuff as I can, but moderating will have to go on the back burner until the DB is upgraded.
  3. Heck, do what I did and stick that license XML up on Google Drive. It's going to take a full-scale apocalypse to stop me from using BigBox!
  4. You're right, it is HIS business. I'm not sure why you feel the need to reply so defensively on his behalf. All I'm saying is that it seemed an odd decision. I don't need to be first accused of not knowing what I'm talking about and then being told to mind my own business by someone who isn't in fact Jason. There's no reason for your kind of response. Anywho, sorry I said anything. Apparently it's a mistake to do that. Hope you had fun at the convention, Jason!
  5. Well if you actually check the tweets, some asked the Game Chasers how much they got it for, and the Launchbox Twitter account replied "free". And again, it's none of my business, but I thought that it'd be used to promote Launchbox at multiple conventions, which Jason literally says in the first post on this thread, instead of giving it to his favorite YouTubers. Again, man I guess...
  6. Check out @launchboxapp's Tweet: Really? Cuz it sure looks like they gave it away.
  7. So after all this, it got shown off at Retropalooza and then just given away to some Youtubers? Man I guess...
  8. That's a good idea. That way we can search for "delete" when it's all sorted out, and have an easy list of targets.
  9. Did you try typing the code in instead of copying and pasting from the email? I had that issue, I think it needs to detect that text was typed to work.
  10. That game shouldn't be accepted. I'm the one rejection. There's already an entry for Elan Doree (under that title) in Sega Saturn. I know, because I submitted THAT entry a while back, when Mednafen added Saturn support and I went looking through the back catalog.
  11. I mean, it's just a matter of doing it one by one. It's just a time commitment more than anything. I added the Atari 2600/7800 clear logos from Hyperspin a week or so ago, and it was really just a matter of one after another after another after another.... (although I also spent an hour or two re-learning enough Photoshop to do a proper clear logo for Asteroids for the 7800 (for the two people besides myself who ever played that version)) Anyway, my point is that it may seem like there's still a lot of work to be done on the database, but let's not forget what a complete and total fucking train wreck it was when it launched, just FULL of bad data/images/duplicates/invalid games. Our task won't be easy. We're not Mobygames. We don't have a corporate backer propping us up like GameFAQs. But what we do have are LaunchBox users. And anyone dedicated enough to video games that they needed to set up a frontend to show them off and run them, is the exact kind of person we need. So remember...if you're already here on this forum, debating a video game database's merits/flaws, you're already the right kind of person to help. /speech
  12. Yeah I didn't want to say anything for fear of sounding like a nag, but it's totally still an issue. It's especially a problem with Genesis games, where since MegaDrive/Genesis were merged, there's been a LOT of redundant games.
  13. I've had good results with Samsung TVs re: input lag, particularly when used in Game Mode. Make sure that whatever TV you get has some form of "game mode" built into it, the amount it can reduce input lag is incredible. I actually use a 55" Samsung as my main rig's monitor.
  14. The easiest thing to do would be to find a comprehensive list of all Turbografx 16 AND CD releases, verify that all Turbografx 16 games in the database aren't CD games, and if they are, submit a change of platform request to Turbografx-CD. Also, we'd have to manually add any new games that haven't been yet, and try to at least submit a front box art and clear logo with them as well. I'll probably just work on it myself a bit over the next few days, honestly. But any progress would be appreciated.
  15. Good find. I added the ones that needed adding, from both that section and the Turbografx-CD section on the second link, which had logos for the US releases, so it should be taken care of. However, I did notice a lot of logos for games not currently in the database, so I think we need (and by we, I probably mean I) to go through the Turbografx-16 and CD sections and make sure everything's properly sorted out and added. I'd appreciate any help.
  16. Alternate titles needs to happen soon. We're just going to keep nitpicking things to death otherwise.

  18. If PNGGauntlet really is producing that level of results, it might make sense for the images currently on the Database to be run through the program systematically on Jason's end; the bandwidth savings could be huge over time!
  19. Do the games themselves need to be left out, or just any images for them that might need to be age-gated? Because I don't see what harm having text entries for them would be...
  20. I've been accepting them for ones where no other cartridge images have been submitted, but I hope originals get submitted as well.
  21. So someone is submitting (for a while now) cartridge art for Game Boy, N64, and Turbografx-16 en masse, and it's all clearly been mocked up. The cartridge image is the same, and the inside is just a slightly distorted version of the box. In many cases, the actual cartridge doesn't look anything like that. @Jason Carr can we add a category for Cart - Reconstructed? They are not the original art, and I know a lot of people are obsessive about having the accurate art, even if it means it's a lower quality image. I've attached an example of the submitted reconstructions, versus US and Japan versions of the original art that I found with a trivial amount of Googling.
  22. Hmm. I didn't notice that World was added as a region...maybe if no region is specified, it should default to World?
  23. I think that it's preferred that we have the correct region, to be sure, but blocking seems extreme. And let's not forget that for some games, the media could correspond to more than one region. For example, if I hypothetically posted a screenshot of Super Mario Bros. 1, I couldn't accurately tell you what region it came from, because every single country had the same ROM distributed on differently labeled cartridges.
  24. Would you be okay with me uploading this to the Database? Rockman 4: Minus Infinity has an entry there, but it only has a front box.
