  1. Yes. Way overkill. You do not need a 1000W PSU unless you intend on running like 3 high end graphics cards which in my opinion is a total waste. A single 1080 Ti is enough for VR and more than enough for 1080p gaming since your TV in this build is a 1080p. This is a seriously high end over the top gaming rig you got planned out here and more than overkill for emulation of pretty much anything, even Cemu (WiiU) will be fine with this. Personally I think water cooling and overclocking is a waste of money and time unless it is something you are really into doing just to see how far you can push things. Basically if your hobby is building and tweaking go right ahead and do it, do what you enjoy. But if your hobby is gaming then water cooling and overclocking is a massive time and money sink. Not saying you shouldn't do it, it's your money and time and what you enjoy doing with it is up to you.
  2. Yay, my memory was correct about something for once
  3. Glad to hear you got it sorted. By the sounds of it it was either the video driver or Direct X9. I will keep that in mind the next time someone has the same issue. Damn Creators Update, I haven't done that update yet, waiting til it's a forced one
  4. That is a tricky one because of the double duty nature of the Escape key in Mame and Retroarch. Instead of trying to clear a binding out with Escape try rebinding the control several times to the control you want it as. I believe it will eventually clear itself out and just have the one bind, the one you want it to be.
  5. Hmm something strange is going on then. Did you your Windows update recently ? It could be possible your .NET 4.7 install borked something (the latest beta installs it), your Visual C might have gotten borked if your Windows updated and if you are using the Creators Update people have reported problems requiring video card driver reinstalls. I am just guessing here because it is really weird that your Launchbox loads but it's crashing when you try and start a game. Hopefully someone else who may has a proper solution can chime in here.
  6. I suggest reinstalling the latest official build over top of your install. It "should" fix your problem. Betas are just that beta and can be problematic.
  7. Demul should get you most of the way there if you got a decent system behind it.
  8. Demul is the best overall emulator in terms of accuracy right now but much like N64 emulation it is quirky. Not every game works in any of the emulators and different games may have different issues. Demul also requires more hardware power to drive it but is more accurate while NullDC can run better on lower end hardware but less games work.
  9. Demul supports them and I believe the new Redream core in Retroarch supports them. Not sure if NullDC does or not but I would be surprised if it didn't.
  10. Yeah, what you are asking here is an extremely unusual way of doing things. The whole point of a front end such as Launchbox, emulators and rom files on a hard drive is to "not" use floppy disks or other physical media.
  11. I think I get what you are asking, you want to insert the floppy disk and then have that run a program on your computer automatically ? Though I don't know if this is possible to have it run a file through Launchbox or not but that would be rather pointless. You could just have the floppy disk auto run a program on your computer. It would simply be an autostart script on media insert when you insert the floppy disk and it would just run the .bat file which would in turn run the program you wanted and had in the .bat file. This is just me thinking about theory here, I cannot say for a fact this would work. This might be useful to what you want. http://www.ashzfall.com/products/autorun/autorunfloppy.html
  12. It's not some official warning specifically at you. It's a general warning for the thread and anyone reading it, keep it on topic about the pros and cons. No hyperbolic statements like this one from you "i see posts here and everywhere else saying rocketlauncher is compicated and they have never actually taken the time to try". Like I have said, I have tried and I have taken the time and it is a fact that it is complicated and I am a person who can figure a lot of complicated stuff out. I did figure out RocketLauncher and it is complicated, that is just a simple fact. And again, no one is "blindly hating" Rocket Launcher, in fact no one in this thread even said "DON'T USE ROCKET LAUNCHER".
  13. Ok before this goes any further I am laying down a warning right here and now. @angelobodetti your last post is really coming off as defensive and you are borderline attacking myself and @SentaiBrad. I say borderline because while you are not mentioning either of us by name we are the only 2 people in this thread saying RocketLauncher is complicated and unnecessary to most people. No one in this thread is "blindly hating RocketLauncher" myself and Brad are only stating that it has a steep learning curve and we have both used it in the past so we aren't just stating our opinions of it based off of nothing. In case you missed it in one of my previous posts in this thread I did use HyperSpin and RocketLauncher for about a month or two and did learn how to use it. Again, no one is "writing it off" only making sure that people wondering about is aware of the learning curve. Yes, EVERYTHING is complicated at first but RocketLauncher is much more complicated than normal with all the tabs and sub tabs and I would agree that the software probably needs to be as complicated as it is because of the nature of it and how much it can do. No one said it sucks. It is complicated, that is just a simple fact. You don't don't need those features is a subjective and personal decision like I have said since the beginning of this thread. It has nothing to do with closed mindedness at all. I don't NEED them and if someone else does that is fine, it's up to them but I won't sit here and tell people oh "use RocketLauncher, it's dead simple to learn how to use". That would be a false statement and doing the user a major disservice. @angelobodetti The fact that you do help people with RocketLauncher is very cool and if you want to make a thread dedicated to people requiring help with it and Launchbox I would be more than happy to sticky it so that people who want help with it will have a central place to look for troubleshooting advice. Simply make the thread and send me a message linking it to me and I will make it a sticky.
  14. Get split or non merged. Personally I use split, it offers the most choice in which version of the game I get to use. Merged won't import properly into Launchbox.
  15. No, but you are using the FBA core you can access the Unibios by enabling them in the core options and then when the game loads you will get a different screen instead of the "green" screen. At the screen telling you that you have the Unibios press either A+B+C or A+B+C+D (can't remember which exactly) and it will take you into a screen where you can make some adjustments. Edit: Also make sure to set Neo Geo Mode to Unibios in the core options. It also looks like they added some new stuff to the core options for FBA since I last really looked in there.
  16. The people who tend to really want these features are generally people coming over from HyperSpin. This isn't a bad thing at all and those users can simply use their current RL setup. But most of us around here started out with Launchbox because of how much easier it is to learn to use and get up and running. Like I have said previously in this thread, it's all up to the user whether or not the features of RL are worth the extra learning time.
  17. Not often but he has done black friday sales but only for that one day.
  18. It should work just fine, I use a Hori Fight Commander gamepad and it has no problems.
  19. Lordmonkus' Best of 2600 List View File This my personal Best of 2600 list. Some of these games are part of my list because I grew up playing them, others are just there because they are classics but the vast majority are there because they are actually still fun to play today. I tried not to put many arcade ports on here but there is a couple if they were actually really good ports. There are a couple of improvement hacked roms which are homebrews and not hacks that you would need to get and they are freely available over on http://atariage.com/index.php they are not copyright protected so there is no worry about that. Space Rocks thread and download http://atariage.com/forums/topic/197315-space-rocks-2600 Pac-Man (8K) post and download http://atariage.com/forums/topic/229152-new-pacman-for-atari-2600/page-37#entry3298369 Here is the list of games in the playlist file and a short blurb about it: Adventure - Not really a favourite of mine but it is a classic 2600 game. Atlantis - Sort a Missile Command clone but different enough and unique. Barnstorming - Fly through barns, what other games offer this ? Beamrider - Another game that isn't really a favourite of mine but many people like it so it's here. Berzerk - Arcade port but really well done. Boxing (Activision) - This game is a great 2 player vs game, really fun button mashing action. Chopper Command - Horizontal shooter Defender clone but by Activision so you know it's good. Communist Mutants From Space - That name alone makes it great but it is a very good Space Invaders clone. Cosmic Ark - Shoot asteroids and abduct people, how can you go wrong ? Dark Chambers - Closest thing to Gauntlet on the 2600. Demon Attack - Probably the best Space Invaders clone similar to Phoenix but it's an Imagic game and looks great. Dolphin - It's like Ecco the Dolphin only it's on the 2600. Dragonfire - Steal treasure from a dragon, nothing else needs to be said. DragonStomper - Insane RPG game for its time, try it out. Enduro - Awesome racing game, Outrun before Outrun. Frostbite - Mix of Q-Bert meets Frogger but with a unique twist, fun game. H.E.R.O - It's freaking H.E.R.O. arguably the best game on the system. Keystone Kapers - Fun game I played for many hours as a kid. Laser Blast - Fun Space Invaders in reverse, you play the invader destroying the base. Official Frogger - This was made by Starpath for the Super Charger addon. It looks great, you have to see it in comparison to the Parker Bros version. Pac-Man (8K homebrew) - This one you need to get from Atariage forums. This is how Pac-Man should have been on the system. Pengo - Fun puzzle game. Phoenix - Space Invaders clone but I played it a lot as a kid so it's on here. Pitfall and Pitfall II - 'Nuff said. River Raid - Also 'nuff said, play it if you never played it. Sea Quest - Fun underwater horizontal shooter. Solaris - Late release for the system, looks great and is a lot of fun. Space Rocks - This is another Atariage homebrew and is the best version of Asteroids on the 2600. The original Asteroids is left off because of this version. Spider Fighter - Another Activision games and great fast paced shooter. Stampede - Rope cows, how many games has this ? A lot of fun and played it a lot as a kid. Starmaster - First person space combat and another Activision game. Survival Island - Another Starpath Super Charger addon game, swim to the island without getting eaten. Tutankham - Raid tombs and steal treasure. Yars Revenge - System exclusive and a classic. Submitter lordmonkus Submitted 06/22/2017 Category Playlists

  21. Just tested as well and the wall view is coming along nice, scrolling up and down works well and I like the more flattened look though I would prefer to not have that "vertical tilt" but that's personal preference. The problem of coming back to the platforms from the options and the "freezing" is still there though but I assume that is something you are still looking into. I also noticed the problem of missing art in wall view is back though when you cycle through the views. Restarting BigBox with it already set to wall view seems to fix it but a restart is required.
  22. I haven't bothered looking at the Dolphin core for Retroarch yet but I will assume that it something required by Retroarch for it to work along the lines of how for the PPSSPP you need the "assets" folder. Some discussion about it over on their forums in this thread https://forums.libretro.com/t/dolphin-core/9719 Basically it's still early work in progress and not ready for daily use, better to stick with stand alone Dolphin for now.
  23. Lol, no worries. Every one of us has done the exact same thing before. Glad you got it sorted out. A good rule of thumb is if the game is working outside of Launchbox but not inside it chances are it's a setting in one of the two windows I asked for a screenshot from. Those two places are always the first place I look when troubleshooting once the games are working in the emulator on its own.
  24. If you can post some screenshots of your emulator settings window in Launchbox that would be helpful. The Edit Emulator and Associated Platforms windows to be more precise.
