  1. Of course there is, there are a whole pile of tutorial videos over on the Launchbox Youtube channel.
  2. Might just be an incompatible set with the core being used ? What game and core is crashing ?
  3. Weird, you shouldn't have to use the full path unless you have something really funky in your setup.
  4. If it's working outside of Launchbox then you most likely have a setting issue in LB itself. Can you post a couple of screenshots ? One of your Edit Emulator window for Retroarch and one of the Associated Platforms window.
  5. I have my emulators in a folder for emulators /emulation /emulators /retroarch Does Retroarch load any games for out outside of Launchbox ? Or does it crash on it's own as well ?
  6. That error message shows you are missing a required Visual C++ run time. I believe it's the 2015 Visual C runtimes if I a remember correctly.
  7. I moved this post to the appropriate forum section. Since you are on a fresh Windows install you most likely are missing some runtime libraries. Does Retroarch work outside of Launchbox ?
  8. I'm not exactly sure how people think that stand alone emulators offer more customization over Retroarch though. With Retroarch you get get the "core specific" options on top of all the the other universal tweaks like Hard GPU Sync and Vsync options along with drivers, shaders and controller configurations which you can do on a per game basis. You really cannot get more customization than that.
  9. Yup, this is one of the few cases where even I suggest using the stand alone over the Retroarch core.
  10. Yeah, but only if the core is too slow on the system. It should be fine though with a 3.2 GHz CPU.
  11. I should add that Hard GPU Sync On and set to 0 is the preferred setup, it reduces input lag.
  12. 0 is the preferred setting but if you are having performance issues set it to 1.
  13. I am just guessing here but my first guess would be the audio sync in the audio settings is set to off, this should be set to on. If that does not fix it check in the video settings and enable Hard GPU Sync. Try those first and if that doesn't solve it we can look for something else.
  14. Right below the Shaders menu in the quick menu when you have a game loaded with the core.
  15. You could load per game configs using that if you wanted but there are now "per core" and "per game" config options built into Retroarch since 1.5.0.
  16. You could use the "per game" configs and "per game shader".
  17. You won't be able to use HLSL or any shaders in Mame (standalone), you will need a dedicated GPU to use them. But in Retroarch you should be able to use the lighter weight shaders like CRT-Pi.
  18. Yes, you can have a different shader though I recommend no shader. Just internal resolution boost and anti aliasing in the core options. You can try using the core override function in Retroarch or just make a custom config and have it load that config when you start it up -L "cores\mupen64plus_libretro.dll" -c "config\Nintendo64.cfg"
  19. lol, i'm just a natural nightowl, I get it from my grandmother she was a night person too.
  20. Nah, it's only 2AM for me, couple more hours til I go to bed.
  21. Shouldn't be too bad, though you will have to re-point LB to your emulators since those would be moving. Since your roms won't be moving that won't have to be re-pointed.
  22. Just like today, different people chose systems for various reasons but people bought new systems because more power and better looking graphics.
  23. I'd beg to differ, people cared that the Genesis version of EA sports games like NHL 94 ran faster and smoother than the SNES version. The internet just magnifies the shit out of it now.
  24. Oh it's definitely worse now with the internet but "system power" was a thing that people cared about and magazines did write about it. Trust me, I lived it
  25. But it was still power and graphic capability.
