  1. I haven't looked into either of those games. Early 3D era fighting games just don't do it for me anymore. I did love Virtua Fighter 2 back in the day, I actually owned it when I owned my Saturn back in 94/95 but nowadays if I feel like it ill load up 3 on Dreamcast or PS2. But yeah the working to not working ratio is insanely good. I grabbed DoDonPachi just to check out the port to see how good it was compared to the arcade and its surprisingly decent. Slightly lower resolution sprites but the gameplay is super smooth and the sound is great. The download came in ccd+img format which didn't work but mounting and re-dumping using ImgBurn fixed it. Glad your Sengoku Blade worked with the audio conversion.
  2. Yeah I googled that dll and I couldn't find a single thing on it.
  3. Damn this emulator being so good. Because of it's high quality already I am now stuck in getting games mode. My collection has grown from about a dozen games to now being over 45. It's gonna end soon though since I am getting to the point that all that is left is either pure Japanese RPGS, casino games, absolutely hideous early 3D games or one of the many fighting games which I have in Mame anyways. I do have some overlap into the arcade ports with 2D shooters though.
  4. Big difference between this and Mighty No. 9 is that this game is actually being done by an actual game designer and not some guy who was an artist on a game.
  5. One thing that stands out to me is in the 2nd shot where it says Emulator Application Path. It just says "Retroarch etroarch.exe", in mine it has the full path like "H:\Emulation\Emulators\Retroarch 1.3.6 etroarch.exe". I don't know if that is indeed the problem though or not. Everything in the first shot looks right though.
  6. Indeed, this is one of the small handful of games on my short list of "keep a close eye on" games.
  7. Yeah NeoGeo will require bios but they are a little different since they don't go into the Retroarch/system folder like other systems. The NeoGeo bios go in the folder where your roms are for that system. We can't tell you on here where to get the bios files directly but do take a look at my CD tutorial ;)
  8. Yeah I do the same, I have a TurboGrafx 16 platform and a TurboGrafx 16 CD platform. The number of games is not that big to warrant separating the regions but you can set up the platforms to personal preference.
  9. That SuperGrafx Ghouls N Ghosts port though. It's damn near arcade perfect.
  10. When you start in Retroarch first make sure games are working just through that. When you know it's working right then worry about getting it setup in Launchbox. The trickiest part to getting Retroarch going is the systems that require bios like Sega CD, TG16 CD and Playstation. Check out my tutorial video I did on those 3 systems in my forum signature if you need some help.
  11. 9am PST is like 12 noon EST which is still my bed time :P
  12. Not really sure if im giving you the answer you are looking for but the TurboGrafx and PC Engine are the same system just different region names like Sega Genesis and Mega Drive or Super Nintendo and Super Famicom. The SuperGrafx was an updated and more powerful version of the PC Engine but only has 6 games for it. The TurboDUO is a PC Engine and CD all in one. If you are looking to emulate these through Retroarch I would recommend using the SuperGrafx core since it will actually do all of them.
  13. Woot woot, can't wait for new and faster forums.
  14. Well the online connection requirement generally isn't a big deal for most people and I don't mind it generally for stuff like MMOs. But my internet isn't the greatest, living in a forest does have its drawbacks and my internet connection is a wireless one and sometimes stability can be funky.
  15. LOL, 90% of all things that don't work properly are because of silly things we do wrong. That's my made up stat.
  16. I pre-ordered it on GoG and they got a 30 day money back thing so if it's really bad it can be refunded. I'm excited for this game, I like Elite Dangerous a lot but some of it's limitations like the always online requirement's and the DLCs were off-putting. Basically it's a giant survival-exploration in space game with a truly unknown universe to explore since it is all generated by the computer so no one really knows what we are going to find in the 18 quintillion star systems in the game. It's as close as were gonna get for now to exploring the universe.
  17. Launchbox shouldn't have affected your save games. Did you change emulators ?
  18. Launchbox lets you choose your cores. You just go into Manage Emulators, then go to Retroarch and edit. This will bring up window and go to the middle tab which is Associated Platforms and there you can set the exact core you wish to use. For example the Super Nintendo platform for me has: -L "cores\bsnes_mercury_accuracy_libretro.dll" If you want to use a different core, just make sure you have the core you want downloaded in your Retroarch/cores folder and change the line accordingly. I wouldn't wait til 1.3.7 either, now is a good a time as any to jump in and get it all set up.
  19. I have no clue how well they would transfer over, I thought about trying it out but I got sidetracked with other tinkering, lol. Again keeping in mind that my knowledge and use of DOSbox is so extremely minimal everything I say is just from my very short personal use of it which is nothing more than just tinkering for the sake of tinkering. But I do think much like the Yabause core within Retroarch there is a certain amount of performance hit that stand alone just doesn't have. When I loaded games using just normal DOSbox there was no tweaking of settings to get games running smooth whereas in RA DOSbox there was immediate stuttering and frame issues that needed to be tweaked out.
  20. Yeah it's a lot of work and DOSbox is not something I ever spend any time with so all the tweaking is way out of my realm. I just wanted to share a way to actually get this core working because much like MESS in Retroarch there is very little in the way of proper documentation and getting things running. Proper DOSbox and just forgoing any shader goodness is still probably the best way to do it. Though Eye of the Beholder did look pretty cool with the VGA monitor shader from the Analog Shader Pack that was just released.
  21. My next questions at this point would be: A) Do games load fine just through Retroarch itself ? and B) Do games launch with other emulators in Launchbox ?
  22. Yeah I can hardly wait for a Retroarch core for this to come out but and SSF is still very good once you put in the time setting it up with mounting disk images but this emulator is now my daily driver for Saturn emulation. It really is that good already and with some scaling and scanline effects it makes the games look better than SSF. Retroarch shaders will be awesome though. I can certainly understand not wanting to make the switch after putting in the work with SSF though.
  23. Alright, good luck with the backup but I am positive it is a simple setting in your LB and an easy fix, just a matter of finding it.
  24. You can try that or just to be safe just move them into a temporary folder in case that doesn't work. But if games will launch just through RA without using LB I am more inclined to believe the problem is somewhere in your LB setup.
