  1. Alright, didn’t know that. Thanks for the clarification. I will contact @donarumo then. :) MEAGRE is actually pretty solid for what it does but you won’t find any better FrontEnd than LaunchBox ;)
  2. Great to hear! It would be awesome to have all the artwork without any watermarks :) Also would it be possible to update the LaunchBox exporter so that it uses the current folder structure? And I noticed that the manuals aren’t getting exported either. Nonetheless I just want to say thank you for your work on this projects. I’m a huge fan and really appreciate it :)
  3. I agree with the screenshots because as far as I know they were mostly made by eXo himself. But almost every cover and floppy/CD artwork from the eXoDOS set mostly has a Mobygames watermark on it. The Win3xO set on the other hand should be fine though because it was mostly made after Mobygames has decided to drop the watermark. But I haven’t checked that many games so I can’t confirm if it’s the case for every image in this set.
  4. That looks really awesome. Definitely a big improvement :)
  5. CriticalCid said Hi @bmonomad MEAGRE supports mass export to LaunchBox including all Images and most of the Metadata. But only in the newest version (which comes only with the Win3xO collection and unfortunately not with eXoDOS itself). But you can easily download the newest version from their site and update your MEAGRE version. Here’s a quick tutorial which I wrote: 1. Close LaunchBox and MEAGRE 2. Download the newest MEAGRE .exe file from here: https://sites.google.com/site/meagrefrontend/download 3. Replace the old MEAGRE.exe with the new one 4. Open MEAGRE –> Edit –> Export to LaunchBox -> choose your LaunchBox.xml and wait until everything is done 5. Open your LaunchBox.xml and search for the line which starts with: <ImagesReorganizedFor5 6. Change the value in the middle from “true” to “false” 7. Save and close the LaunchBox.xml 8. Open LaunchBox and wait until everything is finished and have fun with your newly imported eXoDOS and/or Win3xO set :) Just tested it and the method is still working with 6.3! The only issue you will have is that the gameplay screenshots, game title screenshots and the floppy disc/CD artwork are all together in the “Screenshot – Gameplay” folder. Of course that was always the case but now that we have dedicated folders for the different artwork types it seems a little messy.
  6. Nope, Heavy Gear isn’t included. Maybe it’s a Windows 95 game?
  7. imdavid555 said SentaiBrad said The Background: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ly06vsrdg9duv9z/home-header-background.jpg?dl=0 Exactly! That one! Also, I prefer the no text for the sides. I'm sure the Marquee on the front will say launchbox. I find it redundant just having the words "Launchbox" everywhere. Once is enough imo That’s true. I haven’t thought of that. Yeah now I think that it’s probably better to have the LB lettering only in the marquee to keep it clean.
  8. I haven’t tested it yet and don’t know if it could break anything. I would recommend doing this on a test installation first to see if anything gets messed up on 6.3 and higher. If you want I can check it out for you over the weekend.
  9. I really like both ideas. Using the LaunchBox Icon as a Mario Kart item and the BigBox icon as a trampoline is quite funny. For the different Donkey Kong versions I would say that I like the one with the black LaunchBox lettering on it the best. The only thing I don’t like is the grey brick wall background. It simply doesn’t have any arcade feeling to it. Nonetheless great job Rincewind! :)
  10. LB already downloads the artwork for all available regions. @Jason maybe LaunchBox should now automatically use the corresponding artwork based on the region in order to get the full potential out of this new feature? Because as of now it seems completely random which region cover LaunchBox shows me. Region priorities for ROMs which are multi-region or the World region would be nice as well.
  11. That’s just…wow…and I thought that I’m a digital compulsive hoarder but your setup, Derek, tops everything I could ever handle
  12. I tried that myself a few days ago and had no luck as well. The format seems to be right but I guess there’s more to the MAME naming converter than just the XML.
  13. Use the windows search to filter out all the files with the .cue and .iso extension and only add those into LaunchBox. The new tutorial from Brad may help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awH3dzvY2ic
  14. https://www.16personalities.com/infp-personality I would say that most of the text is pretty damn accurate. But there are a few things which don’t apply to me at all.
  15. Nice idea! I think that could be definitely useful for some users here.
  16. @billyc999 I did some more tests because I'm really interested in your metadata collection. This time I did it with the Atari 2600 file you’ve provided and I ran in several issues with it but I got it to work in the end. Unfortunately I had to remove all ">" characters from the info tags because otherwise would the forum software interpret them as HTML code and won't show them. 1. You forgot to add the <Game line before every game entry. 2. Several syntax errors. </Launchbox has to be </LaunchBox and </game has to be </Game 3. Your current method to set empty values doesn’t work and cause problems. The easiest way would be to just completely delete all lines which aren't containing any values. 4. The year value is completely invalid. The date has to be set like this: <ReleaseDateYEAR-01-01T00:00:00-08:00</ReleaseDate 5. Don’t generate/add any DatabaseID’s. They won’t work if they haven’t the proper value and will only cause problems. 6. LaunchBox crashes if it hasn’t the additional data for platforms, emulators, etc in the Metadata.xml. You’ll have to add these at the end of the xml. I attached a file which contains everything you’ll have to add.
  17. I thought that maybe the missing database ID would prevent LB from importing anything but I was wrong. I just deleted everything from the current metadata.xml except for 2 games and deleted the LB DB ID's from these games as well. What can I say, the game information's were imported properly anyway. The only issue I had was that the metadata.xml got updated and replaced my custom xml even when I clicked on cancel. So unfortunately you have to disconnect your internet connection while doing is. So if you follow the format of the Metadata.xml (which is almost identical to the LaunchBox.xml ) everything should work quite fine if you do it like I described it in my last post.
  18. Not exactly. Lightspeed does directly import/write the new games into the LaunchBox.xml. But I’m talking about to use a custom Metadata.xml so that no additional tools for importing would be needed.
  19. Assuming it would work that LaunchBox can easily import metadata from a custom Metadata.xml than I think a simple way to do this would be to add the platform regularly to get all the images and LB metadata. That’s especially important for the values which aren’t included in his CSV's like the LBDB ID. After that just replace the LB Metadata.xml with the custom one and import the data by either replacing all values or just fill in the gaps. When LB wants to download the current LB metadata.xml just cancel the download or disconnect your PC from the internet while importing. Done Or have I overlooked something?
  20. I guess he means a Metadata.xml he wants to build with his csv files for using it to import his own metadata into LaunchBox. I don’t know if that will work but I could imagine that it would.
  21. LaunchBox ignores all tags in the filename like region, languages, etc on import. So you should be fine. Also when you edit a field in LB it changes them only for you in your own LaunchBox.xml. If you want to change or add something so that the whole community can benefit from it you still have to do this directly in the online LB database. So no worries :)
  22. I wanna thank you for this post as well! I didn’t even know that something like this exists and it sounds indeed a thousand times better. I will definitely give it a try when I have the time.
  23. Circo (the owner of EmuMovies) just posted this in the HyperSpin forum: Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, EmuMovies has been down the last couple of days. This is being worked on and should have it fixed this weekend. Seems we were a bit hard on the server and working with the hosting company on beefing things up yet again. I will reply to this post as I have more news. Appreciate everyone's patience in this matter.
  24. It’s nice to see that the LaunchBox team is growing :) I don’t have any specific questions so all I can say is welcome Kirsten! I hope you will like your new job :)
