If the complete ROMset is in just one .zip or .rar file you have to extract it. But don’t ever extract the ROMfiles itself. And no. This tutorial is just only for updating your ROMset. It has nothing to do with setting up MAME itself.

If you mean with core pack a complete set than no, you don’t have to add the set to the update list. Like I said in the tutorial you set the ROM-Path to your current complete set and add the update packs under “Add-Paths”. It's also possible to downgrade your ROMset to a lower version with this exact method but you would need to use rollback packs instead of update packs. Nonetheless is this tutorial meant for people who already know at least the basics of MAME. I would suggest that you try to understand how everything works and needs to be set up first before worrying about updating your ROMs. It might be too much at once for people who just started with arcade emulation.

I am indeed planning on adding platform image sets to the themes; however, that's not there quite yet. :) I think it would be probably better if the image and sounds sets aren’t part of the themes and you could change them separately instead. This would increase the level of customization and you could change the sets without the need to have a seperate theme for it. Kodi does the same with its sound sets:

Yeah, I had strange problems with the conversion from .zip to .7z in the past as well… The safest way to avoid any problems with the conversion would probably be to add your current ROMs folder to the “Add-paths” and change the folder under “ROM-Paths” to an empty one. When you start the Rebuilder again should Clrmamepro create a complete set in 7z in this new empty folder without any remaining zip files or duplicates.

I just don’t like it when the video is covered with all the text and images. It looks kinda messy to me... Nonetheless I really appreciate your work on these platform logos :)

You haven’t lost any images. Try to refresh your image cache: Tools -> Refresh All Images

I just tested it and the MAME -listxml option is broken for me as well in the current version.

Now that I saw your setup with your current FrontEnd I really get why you want .gif support so bad. I really think that it could be a huge improvement for BigBox as well :)

Because as of now it seems completely random which region cover LaunchBox shows me. Region priorities for ROMs which are multi-region or the World region would be nice as well. Agreed, Cid. We should definitely do that. Just pulling this up so that it doesn’t get forgotten. ;) Because that was also a part of the region scrape ticket (and the reason why I voted for it in the first place) I hope that it will get added very soon :)

They look awesome! You, sir, have definitely a huge talent on creating such artwork. Maybe it’s just me but I find the platform names a little bit too hard to read, especially the arcade one.

Hi exo, maybe you should read Donarumo’s explanations how he handled the export: https://www.launchbox-app.com/forum/features/exodos-import#p1713 Personally I think it would be way better if MEAGRE would export the year and set the date to just January 1st. Actually that’s something I asked him myself when I sent him an e-mail with the update request for the exporter. I also asked him if he could add the option that MEAGRE will copy all the extras stuff like the manuals directly into LaunchBox. LaunchBox can handle multiple series values for a game. Just separate them in the series field with a semicolon. This works for other fields like genre as well. I honestly don’t know why MEAGRE doesn’t export the series values into LB so maybe you should ask Donarumo directly about this. As far as I know is LB completely portable as long as you keep everything in the LB folder itself.
