  1. That's actually pretty easy. Create a Custom Filter which filters for games in your Arcade platform + publisher and/or developer you want to create a Classics platform for. Than select all games in that filter with Ctrl + a and change the platform with bulk edit to the new one.
  2. As you can configure in which cases you want to get E-Mails maybe more moderate default settings for this would be a good idea. Right now you get E-Mails for everything. Also I’m not quite sure where to post this, but I need the option back to tell my location in my profile. It’s the simplest way to excuse my bad English
  3. I understand that you don’t want to pay that much for some videos but I don’t think that Jason would like it if you publicly discuss things like account sharing or sharing paywall stuff here in the forum.
  4. I’m not sure if I get you but I would also want region priorities. Similar to the image priorities you could configure in which order the regions should be preferred when a game has either no artwork/metadata for its exact region, is multi-region, has (World) as region or has no region info at all.
  5. I don’t know what you think it would do but all it does is to fill in the “Region” value based on the tag in the ROM filename. The value exists since a long time but was never automatically parsed when you have imported games. All I’m saying is that LB should use this value to determine which region should be used for the artwork and name (when alternative names get added to the db).
  6. Zombeaver said This assumes that the rom files even have the region tag. It also would mean that LB would treat rom file names differently than it's always done - which is to ignore text within special characters. I would say once again that this is probably harder to implement than it sounds - it'd have to be setup in such a way as to recognize the region tag (which can be in a number of different forms like U/US/USA/NA/NTSC and J/JAP/JPN etc.) and simultaneously ignore everything else in special characters. It seems possible, but potentially problematic. Jason already has added support for the region tag in either 6.5 or 6.6, can't remeber which version it exactly was. So yeah, the groundwork is already done ;) And if a ROM file hasn't the region tag in it you can always add the region manually in LB or consider to change your ROMset to a better one like No-Intro. EDIT: I just looked it up in the changelog and it was added in 6.4 - New Feature: Region information can now be parsed from ROM file names for No-Intro and Goodsets and possibly other naming formats
  7. Unfortunately you have to pay for a HyperSpin platinum membership (50$) to get watermark free versions.
  8. As of now you can upload artwork for different regions for every game. Only the metadata is currently lacking of multiregion support. So alternative names would be a good point to start with that. Also LaunchBox currently downloads all available artwork for every region but it’s totally random which artwork it uses. That’s why I said it would be about time that LaunchBox uses the right artwork based on the region tag in the ROM name.
  9. Finally, some faster forums! I will definitely be there to test it out. :)
  10. djwar said Thank you CriticalCid, but I have a question lets say I have version .168 so if I download newest version, I need to download all the update packs as you stated in point #2, isnit? You think is worth it that much hassle, will the games look any different ? if not, there no point in upgrading and better keep the old version, right.. Like I said in the introduction. If all the games you want to play are there and working perfectly fine for you there’s no need to update it.
  11. To split the consoles in the database in to the different region variants was maybe a good idea before we had the „Scrape as“ function. But now it’s completely unnecessary and only brings more trouble than usage. If someone (like myself) prefers to split his platforms into different regions than it’s really easy and simple to scrape the additional platforms as the ‘main’ one. The non- consistency right now is a huge problem as well. I think the platforms should be merged again and it’s time that Jason finally adds “Alternative Names” to the games in the database and add the feature that LaunchBox uses the right artwork for each game based on the region tag of the ROM files.
  12. I’m currently building my first theme and wondered if there’s a way to show the details of a platform like release date, developer, etc. and the notes separately? I know you can do it with the games views but I can't figure out how to do it with the platforms.
  13. Sure, no problem. I can’t find any good image of it either.
  14. Sorry if I nag you with my requests but can I ask for an PC Engine-CD version of Rondo of Blood as well? :)
  15. Styphelus said What are the guidelines for Daphne? Should I include Daphne Singe games into this system as well? I'll be away for a few days but when I come back next week I'll start adding all games and metadata to the Daphne db. Hopefully by then they will have Taito in the DB as well. That will take care of these 2 systems. More to come! I would say just add the Singe games to the normal Daphne category. No need to add an additional category in the DB just for an alternative branch of an emulator.
  16. Zombeaver said EDIT: Here ya go. Normal: Sketch: Awesome mate! I really appreciate it :)
  17. Indded. It looks really awesome! But as it only came out in Japan for the PC-Engine and I‘ve splitted the TurboGrafx-16 and PC-Engine as seperate systems could make an alternative PC-Engine version of it please? :)
  18. Air Zonk, Ghost Manor, Night Creatures or Soldier Blade would make great banners. They all have great cover art and are exclusive on the console.
  19. The best way to report a bug is to create a BitBucket ticket: https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/new
  20. It was fixed. Quote from the changelog of the latest beta: - Fixed: Scrape As platforms were using command-line parameters for "Scrape As" platform in the associated platforms for emulators instead of the proper platform name
  21. I think this song explains it really well why EVERYBODY should vote for this ticket ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWeO5IkCssk
  22. Nope, it hasn’t been addded yet by Jason. Maybe because the BitBucket ticket only has 3 votes right now. So let’s vote it up guys ;) https://bitbucket.org/jasondavidcarr/launchbox/issues/1048/amiga-whd-internal-name-conversion-like
  23. If the complete ROMset is in just one .zip or .rar file you have to extract it. But don’t ever extract the ROMfiles itself. And no. This tutorial is just only for updating your ROMset. It has nothing to do with setting up MAME itself.
  24. If you mean with core pack a complete set than no, you don’t have to add the set to the update list. Like I said in the tutorial you set the ROM-Path to your current complete set and add the update packs under “Add-Paths”. It's also possible to downgrade your ROMset to a lower version with this exact method but you would need to use rollback packs instead of update packs. Nonetheless is this tutorial meant for people who already know at least the basics of MAME. I would suggest that you try to understand how everything works and needs to be set up first before worrying about updating your ROMs. It might be too much at once for people who just started with arcade emulation.
