I'm still not sure after reading this where the bezels are supposed to be downloaded to... I ran the downloader and there's nothing in my ra>overlays folder, although it looked like the download was finished from the progress bar.

I love this. I had just been dealing with this yesterday and was thinking how much more efficient it would be if it didn't return you to the top of the view each time. Very nice improvement.

As a workaround, for now, I just opened both disks in the standalone mini vMac and copied all the game content onto a folder on a copy of my system disk so that I can access it all on one disk in RA. Maybe down the road they will have an easy way to mount two disks at startup.

I think the only thing that is different from what I was doing is the "-L". Not sure what that command is, but I just tried to work it in, but didn't see any change. I've also wondered if there are shortcuts for the ctrl/alt commands from the standalone version (example alt-m for magnify, or load disk would be especially helpful). I don't see anything that suggests that there is in the online documentation, etc...

Thanks for taking the time to write up a detailed explanation. I appreciate it. This makes perfect sense... the problem I'm running into is that with the RA core, if I have custom command-line parameter with the path to the second disk, it won't launch at all. *edit* Reversing the first and second disk fixes that, so that it is launching the system disk first, but then it simply doesn't load the second disk. My second disk is a compilation of games that I loaded onto a blank virtual disk a long time ago (using HFV explorer, or something... I actually don't remember how I did it). This works fine in the standalone, but RA won't seem to load a second disk.

In MiniVMac standalone, you place your .dsk files in the same folder and the emulator .exe and name then disk1 and disk2 to load multiple disks (basically the system disk and a disk of games, etc). How do you get the second disk to load with the system disk when using Retroarch. I can only figure out how to get it to load the system disk. Thanks for the help.

I just did 11th Hour also... after the first one it made more sense. That one had four discs. The complication was that it wasn't detecting sounds drivers, so had to go in and do the sound install, then restart back to the menu and run the "go" file. I think there are some other games that will run into that sound install problem (Ultima 7 comes to mind... I think). But I think I have it figured out, thanks to your help. I do wish RetroArch had a hotkey to restart back to the DosBox menu with one click.

Great! It's working. Thanks for the help with this. I think I was either mounting or running files from the wrong disc. After going through this, I can really see the value of ExoDos and that it simplifies all this for you. But I wanted the features and shaders of Retroarch. I'm sure once I run through this process a few times it will be easy. I just have to think of it as installing games from the physical copies, like we used to. Anyway... thanks again for the help, and hanging in there until I got it working.

Ok... so the Exodos import zips the game. Would the Export to Android give me a different zip file?
-
Thanks for the reply. I was trying to go down this path, but I just tried again. I keep running into the same problem that it closes back to the RA menu. It almost seems like there is something wrong with the mounting process, but it's really beyond me. *edit* C-Beats... thanks for the reply... I'm actually using a PC and not an Android device.

Having some trouble loading a CD game in DosBox Pure. I'm testing this with 7th Guest from the ExoDos 5 collection. When I get to the initial screen to select a soundcard, the game then crashes back to the Retroarch menu with no core loaded. I have the game zipped in one file (same structure as it came from ExoDos), I have extraction turned off in the LB platform. Non-CD games are launching properly in DosBox Pure. The 7th Guest game will launch properly in normal DosBox (but I want the Pure and RA shader features). If anyone can help me out with this, I appreciate it. Thanks.

That was the exact quote... but I think I see what happened. The name of the MAME exe changed from MAMEUI64 to just MAMEUI some time recently... so during the wizard I edit/changed the emulator, but this seems to be throwing the error because if I went back to that point in the wizard my edits to the emulator were gone/reset. *edit* The way that I fixed it and finished the import was to cancel out of the wizard and go in and change the emulator before I restarted the wizard.

Not sure if this is a new bug, or something on my end, but at the end of the MAME import wizard, I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error.

Hi... I'm running the LaunchBox DosBox (not Retroarch) and was just wondering if there's a way to run a basic bezel (like an old computer monitor frame or something) within DosBox, or if anyone has a bezel set up if they can point me in the right direction. I use RA overlays for most everything, but I don't use the RA DosBox cores because they don't seem to work with my .bat files. Thanks for the help.

Fix for blurry preview pics is working perfectly. Thanks.
-
I had a feeling you were going to say that. Here it is with the blurred thumbnail highlighted so you can also see the larger image is normal. Let me know if this is what you are looking for.
-
I think this may have been mentioned before, but I can't remember. In the game details panel, some (a small number) of the small image thumbnails are totally blurred out, but the larger thumbnail (the highlighted one) of the same image appears normally.

If you you making incremental changes in options, such as changing box spacing, for example, or any others where you might be making small changes, checking the result, repeating... it can become tedious to have to click OK, restart the options dialog, find the option, make additional changes, etc... What I'm wondering is if there is a way to "apply" your changes without all those steps, or, if not, would an "apply" button be useful there?
-
Yes... that did the trick. Thank you. It also fixed the spacing on the platforms text. It had been showing as the wider spacing, like the default theme. Anyway, this fixed it. Thanks again.
-
Sorry, I probably didn't explain very well... I actually don't want it "in the image" (like an overlay), but this is the only way I can get it. I want to put the game title under the image, as you said, but can't figure out how to do that.
-
I've been using this theme for a while, and I really like it. Thanks for putting it together. One question... is there any way to display the game titles under the game (box front) thumbnail (like with the default theme) instead of as an overlay? I have "text on all games" checked in the options, but the text always shows as an overlay. Thanks for the help.

The related games feature looks pretty nice. Where does the info for that come from? Is it in the game metadata, or is it looked up online?
-
I think that one has been around for a while... or maybe it has just come back.

LBPlex LaunchBox custom theme badges update
Drybonz replied to Mister Slimm's topic in LaunchBox for Windows Custom Themes
LBPlex has been my go to theme for some time. I'm wondering if the new game details layout can be added to this theme, or maybe it's time to let this one go? Thanks
