The way I do is I have 3 Major sites where I check. First on Mobygames, then ogdb and after that custom google search with giantbomb. If all three have the same dates fine. Sometimes 2 of them have the same and maybe mobygames has a different one.That's when I check other sites like gamefaq and even check the covers and gamemag reviews. I personally don't trust wikipedia that much. Lots of misinformation.

Switching the é with a regular isn't the solution we should be going for. We need to adjust the database so it can work with the é and so that it finds pokemon even if we search without the special chars. I rejected all the changes from Pokémon

True but it doesn't make sense uploading a something with no context what so ever. For example a N64 Cart Image with a big T for Teen in the Cover is obvious not an european game. If the country is unknown you still can upload it under worldwide.

Hey guys, a quick reminder when submitting new media or changing existing ones. Since we're going with regional titles / alternate names we need the media to have regional titles as well. So please submit the new media under the corresponding category. We should block submissions without a regional tag.

You can always try PCem or Virtual PC 2007 paired with a Windows 98 Machine. Or Qemu

But it's primary about the games and not the platforms. It's like saying this game came out for an Amiga tape and after that in Europe as a floppy.with a different name. It's still the same game, albeit the different regional settings (maybe other hardware, covert art title). You should have a game entry and if that game has been released in another country you create a regional sub-title for that game that's it. So if you take your Final Fantasy III for snes thats then (Japan, Final Fantasy VI) with its own artwork etc. Each sub-Title has its own stuff. Mobygames and other sites do it this way and this is the correct way. And don't forget with SNES / Super Famicom it's pretty simple. There are systems where it's far more complicated. I'm looking at you PC Booter / Ms-Dos and Win 3.1 in one and the same game

I've spoken with some of the moderators and we're all a bit worn out. But this is not because of the endless stream of submissions. This is a good thing. But mainly because the stagnation of development on the gamesdb and features missing to make the job easier. I don't want to search for one game like 10 mins just to find out why the user has made an change to an existing entry that was perfectly good. Then the Developer dilemma etc. but it all has been talked about. I know that jason hasn't forgotten us and is working at it at the moment. So soon it'll be better. So don't worry!

So I saw some submissions for games with Collectors Edition or Complete Packs. Do they justify a new game entry only because they're a collectors edition? Fisty also said, that some games like TIE Fighter actually upgraded the game content with their "Collector's Edition" So there's that. What do you think? Where should we make a line?
